Custom Pencil urchin

Only on etsy! By popular demand, I've decided to show my pencil urchin on etsy.
This is a small-scale version of my more well-known artworks. You can see those at www.jennifermaestre.com.
I will make each urchin to order, in the colors you pick. I have a pencil box with 50 colors! This urchin is made by sewing the pencils together using a beading technique, so it is actually a form of fibre-art.
The pencils are sprayed with UV spray and a fixative to protect the color and keep them from doodling.
These are miniature sculptures, approx. 2 x 4 x 4 inches.
Each one will be signed and dated.

Purple and green are always battling over who is the best secondary color. Here, pink steps in, to separate them, before everything turns into sludge, which, if you've ever painted, isn't a very nice color at all.

This surprising pencil pendant represents the debut of a new technique for me. It isn't easy to explain, but let me just say that I've found a way to use all the corners of pencil blocks sitting around in my studio.

I'm one of those people who sees faces in every splotch and blot, so to me, it looks like some googly eyed creature is peeping out of this pendant. Maybe it is the Christmas tree spirit? It looks alarmed!!

I lived in Curacao for a few Summers, and always loved the color of the sea, there. These little hearts remind me of that place.

These little hearts are made of laminated pencils, with a protective and very shiny coat of epoxy.

They come on silver ear wires with a gold-filled ball.

Bright pink and orange crazy little clip-on earrings! They hardly match at all, pattern-wise, but if your ears are far apart enough, it will be difficult for anyone to notice.

These are a new adventure for me.

They are very small, but my ninja pencil sanding skills have improved to the point where I managed to sand them without losing any fingernails!

They are charming, especially since no injuries were incurred in the making. ;)

You may be surprised to see this in my shop, since it isn't made of pencils!
I'm a member of Etsy Bead Art Originals street team, though, so I thought I'd show some of my beadwork (besides the urchins)!
This necklace is made of Miyuki Delica seed beads and has a magnetic clasp.
The leaves are a variety of gorgeous greens, including emerald, grass green, and some iridescent varieties.
The "stems" are made of silver-lined brown Miyukes.

There are at least two hundred leaves in this necklace, it is very lush.

The shortest strand from end to end measures about 19 inches.
(~ 44 cm)

Each leaf, including stem, is about a half inch long. (1.5 cm)
