Raff is the latest addition to the Funky Friends Factory "Out of Africa" range. He is a simple pattern and will look great in all sorts of colours. You can also use felt for the spots, if you prefer, but I think it’s clever to use up your scraps of light brown fleece! I like to keep things simple so I used squares for his spots, BUT I know that some people would prefer giraffe-shaped spots so I have also included some templates in the patter that are based on the spots of a real giraffe!

This cute little Kiwi Bird is named after the famous New Zealand opera singer Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. I think her mum is hoping she will sing beautifully when she grows up but so far she can only squawk! I discovered some really interesting facts about Kiwi birds, they are rather odd as far as birds go because they cannot fly! (they have wings but they are tiny and useless), they are about the size of a chicken but their eggs are 6 times bigger, and they have nostrils at the end of their beaks! Pretty weird!

This simple pattern will be fun to make in all sorts of colours so don't just stick to brown!

Lamkins is a simple pattern and would be easy even for a beginner. Fleece gives the best cuddliest feel but any stretch fabric should do.
Lamkins makes a lovely bedtime buddy for toddlers (and even for little babies… just use safety eyes or better still, sew French knots instead of beads for the eyes.) This is the very first Funky Friends Factory pattern that was designed using NON-STRETCH fabrics... a real challenge for me - especially with such a 'buxom' creature! She would like everyone to know that any lines you may see are NOT fat rolls - they are puckers in her seams... Well, who am I to burst her bubble! I think she's really cute and cuddlesome just as she is!

This pattern includes the instructions for making the FELT FLOWER detail too!

RECOMMENDED FABRICS
Non-stretch fabrics eg. cotton drill, cottons, corduroy and quilting fabrics.
