The Elliott Smith Memorial Wall on Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles CA

I took this photo soon after the news spread that Elliott had died. I lived in Los Angeles at the time and frequently drove by (before and after his death) this wall where Elliott was photographed for the cover of his "Figure 8" album. It was no surprise that it became a memorial for the him after his death. People began writing personal messages on the wall and handwritten letters were left on the sidewalk next to candles and framed photographs. I have a few more photos of this memorial here:

We love "art" and we love paint splatters, so this is our little homage to one of our favorite dripsters of all time, Jackson Pollack.

We actually made our own little Pollack inspired painting for this design. We cut a piece of wood in the general rectangular shape of a wallet and then dripped and splattered multiple layers of paint. On the computer we played around with the colors so we could have three different versions of the same design. The last picture is our original painting.
