I remember this prayer from my childhood:

Thank you for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the food we eat,
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you, God, for everything.

As small children we are taught to thank God for our blessings and to pray for the health & welfare of others. I hope that in some small way this heartfelt creation of mine will remind you of sweeter, more innocent days when you loved God with all of your heart & couldn't wait to "talk" to him.

My "Pray" assemblage started with a vintage blue Bingo card. I added parts of a pretty pink lacy paper placemat, vintage blue rick-rack & trim & buttons. Vintage image is mounted on cardstock & attached with foam mounting tape to give it a 3-D effect. The black & white letters are from a rare vintage (large print edition) Scrabble game. At the top, I added fabric leaves & flowers, 2 pink flower beads and a gorgeous white vintage button. The altered Bingo card is attached to a vintage necklace with heavy duty double sided tape which is covered in vintage blue rayon seam binding.

My prayer is that my art will touch your life & remind you that you are truly blessed and "precious in His sight".

My heart sings with angel wishes and fairy wings and baby smiles and soft cuddly kisses. My heart sings when I am around positive and happy people or when I am talking "art" with my creative friends. My heart sings when I see someone do a kind deed, speak a soft word of encouragement or help someone in a quiet way. My heart sings when I am in my art studio and my MuSe is gently guiding me!

This collage/assemblage started with a large, heavy vintage Bingo card mounted on black matboard. Vintage image of sweet little girl is printed on matte photo quality paper. Faux butterfly wings made of feathers were added as "fairy" wings. Her skirt is made of crepe paper. She is mounted with foam mounting tape to give a 3-D effect. Collage is embellished with glittered chipboard stars, vintage sheet music & vintage buttons and (matboard) measures 6 1/2" x 10".

HAVE FAITH Altered Art Pocket Watch Assemblage Steampunk Necklace

"FAITH" ~ something that is believed especially with strong conviction.

This necklace was assembled from vintage found objects ~ an old pocket watch (crystal is intact) and a "perfectly aged" silver tone beaded necklace. I re-strung the beads, added a new clasp, new Swarovski crystals (and bead caps), new mother-of-pearl "coins" & new "Faith" inspiration charms. The collage inside the pocket watch started with a vintage angel image printed on matte photo paper. Wording is text from a vintage hymnal. Vintage seam binding was gathered for a ruffled embellishment at the top of the watch and also adorns the back of the necklace at clasp.

Beaded necklace measures about 29" in length ~ watch drops 3 1/4" from chain.

My hope is that you will wear this necklace and be reminded of your steadfast faith in times of joy & times of sorrow alike.

"Fasteeth" tin measures 3" x 3 3/4" ~ full size @ 2 oz ~ still has denture powder in it!

"Dr. Scholl's" Foot Powder ~ 3 oz. ~ measures 1 3/4" x 5"and is also partially full.

"Cuticura" Ointment tin is 3/4 oz size and measures 2" in diameter ~ just a tiny bit of ointment remains.

"Wernet's" Denture Powder is marked "Professional Sample" and I believe is empty.

When I found this photo, I thought "Boy! Is he handsome! He must have been a real charmer."

"Handsome" is a 3-D collage/assemblage on matboard. It is enclosed in a paper-covered shadowbox and measures 8 1/2" x 11" x 1". The word "hand" is actually a vintage flashcard. The word "some" is made from vintage Scrabble game pieces. The hand shape is cut from matboard. This was so much fun to make!
