[ INTRODUCTION ]
This dress was created by help of an old pattern I made of my grandmothers children nightie and then the new inspiration of all the new fabrics. This time around I added a gross-grain ribbon, so you can loosen or tighten the dress.
The sleeves are the newest touch, I wanted something more elegant and sophisticated so I added ONE little dart to each sleeve and, then to top it off I added a fabric covered button.
Of-course I had to add a touch of Boutique Mia; the signature hem.

My daughter is all of a sudden going through a girlie stage, and want to add a swirl to her step. Therefore I just had to create the new fun "IT" Skirt.
It's absolutely darling and I added so much fabric to ensure the fullness. I added a unique touch, which sets this apart from the other ones out on the market; Instead of having the full-layers go all the way up to the waist which would make it puffy on top and cause any shirt flare out because of the extra bulk. I took the time to create a pleat by the hip, so it would have a more natural fullness.

Another unique touch, which sets this apart from the other ones out on the market; Instead of having the full-layers go all the way up to the waist which would make it puffy on top and cause any shirt flare out because of the extra bulk. I took the time to create a pleat by the hip, so it would have a more natural fullness.

I was designing outfits for one of my favorite customers and her 9 kids, and she needed something for her boys and girls to wear for Christmas. I didn't want anything too conservative, but still with class, there had to be a little funk and fun, a touch of european elegance of-cource. The Fun and Funky Tie was born.
The edges are left to frey ever time, and I made it a point to use a contrasting stitch and a funky stitch on top of that. Of-course reversible too. It's tied together with a sewn elastic.

[ INTRODUCTION ]
LOVE this style, it really have the shabby chic vintage feel. They have two pieces of fabric and a drawstring by the knee, where you can either tighten and create more gathering or leave it loose for a more relaxed look.
I chose a linen mix (linen and rayon mix), since it still feels like linen and the linen look, w/out giving the super wrinkled look as soon as you wear them, but still gives you just some of the wrinkles.
My newest twist is the adjustable drawstring with the toggle clasp on the waist.
*If you want a standard band of elastic in the waist, specify in the comment section upon checkout.

I found an old nightie of my grandmother from her childhood that inspired me. It had the sweetest little puff sleeves and scoop neck. I just had to recreate it and add a touch of Boutique Mia; the signature hem. I added little belt-loops also, to ensure the ribbon is held in place at all times.
VOILA, the "Aline Dress" by Boutique Mia was born.
