Part stuffed animal......part needle felted sculpture.....& half drawing..mix it all up & whaddya got???....

#54 in the 425sqftart stuffed outsiders series is a goofy little giraffe (my very first giraffe ta boot!) named "Giacomo". He is made from a medium density spotted mohair! he is combo machine/hand stitched....5 way lock nut jointed (so he's posable, but really prefers to sit instead of stand!) ..is stuffed with poly & steel shot for some weight (after all...he's got a pretty long neck!) ...and he has extensively needle felted features from his big buck toothed grin to his lil' tail!

(for those of you who are new to needle felting: needle felting is the insanely time consuming art of sculpting wool fibers with a tiny sharp barbed needle. The stabbing of the wool causes the fibers to shrink and therefore lends itself to be sculpted!).

Giacomo is also shaded to give him that unique 425sqftart hand-drawn look! He stands an approx. 13 inches tall from the bottom of those lil hooves to the top of his tall antlers (which have thin armature wire hiding in them for durability!) and about 4.5 inches wide across the arms! . Giacomo also comes with a hand knitted wool scarf...just in case it gets chilly....& with a hand screen printed tag signed by yers truly!..along with a lovely sewn in tag on his rump...which boasts.."lil' outsider" "handmade by 425sqftart!"

***Each one of my lil' outsiders is unique & I usually don't replicate pieces...just cuz that would be boring (& nearly impossible with needle felting!)!...So if ya take a shinin' to lil' Giacomo...make sure ya scoop him up...he's the one & only!

#55 in the 425sqftart stuffed outsiders series is a bog toothy kitty named "Mr. Kipper Kitty". He is made from a medium density shaggy mint greenish mohair with a chocolate backing! he is combo machine/hand stitched....5 way lock nut jointed (so he's posable, but really prefers to sit instead of stand!) ..is stuffed with poly & steel shot for some weight (gotta fill in that chunky monkey kitty tummy!) ...and he has extensively needle felted features from his big toothed grin to his lil' tootsies!

Okay! This is one funny lil' Outsider owl named "Humphry". He is numero 4 in a line of small scrappy animals...with mix and match mohair! He is made from two different types of mohair! His body is a sparse matted yellow mohair with a purple backing and his wings (which are lock not jointed ..so they are posable!) are a dense thick yellow mohair with grey tips! He measures in at approx. 5.5 inches tall and approx. 7 inches wide! ...and has a needle felted face ta boot!

(for those of you who are new to needle felting: needle felting is the insanely time consuming art of sculpting wool fibers with a tiny sharp barbed needle. The stabbing of the wool causes the fibers to shrink and therefore lends itself to be sculpted!).

#50 in the 425sqftart stuffed outsiders series is a cutie-pie lil guy named "Mr. Cashew" .He is made from a medium density red with black tipped mohair! he is combo machine/hand stitched...stuffed with poly...5 way lock nut jointed (so he's posable, but really prefers to sit instead of stand...and he has extensively needle felted features from his big ole toothy grin to his lil' tootsies! Mr. Cashew is really one of my small sized Outsiders...(traditionally known as "insiders"!) but is super big on personality...and who can resist a teeny squirrel ??? Not I !

(for those of you who are new to needle felting: needle felting is the insanely time consuming art of sculpting wool fibers with a tiny sharp barbed needle. The stabbing of the wool causes the fibers to shrink and therefore lends itself to be sculpted!).

She is made from a sparse,long pile, tye-dyed mohair! she is combo machine/hand stitched....is stuffed with poly (i left her a little bit squishier than most of my animals...just cuz she's a squishy ocotpus! ...and she has an extensively needle face!
