A deliciously, decadent necklace, artistically arranged with antiquities, some older than others, but all quite fabulous...

A layered necklace, consisting of an antique length of black rosary beads, with an antique crucifix as the pendant, a coal black chain, with creamy white vintage pearls scattered about, and lastly, a chunky brass chain, ending with a large metal shield, with the letter "X" emblazoned upon it. The shield measures 1 3/4" long x 1 1/4" wide. It is a brass piece, that has been enameled with black paint. Very curious, and its original purpose a mystery. From the bottom of the shield, two small lengths of "s" link chain end with a large, 2" long, antique chandelier prism. A tiny chip is on one edge of the prism, adding a delicate touch to a quite forbidding necklace. Adorning the prism are jet black glass mourning buttons, ornate vintage brass beads, and more of the creamy white vintage faux pearls, adorned with beautiful brass beadcaps. On the black chain, approximately 5" up from the bottom is a tarnished oval vintage silver color locket. The necklace closes with a large lobster claw clasp. Below are the length of the three chains.

Rosary chain: 16"
Black chain: 22"
Brass chain: 22"

The shield and prism add an additional 5 1/2".

An absolutely perfect gift for a teacher, coach, teen, Mom, or anyone that really needs to get someone's attention, and I mean get it fast! (I didn't try it out, but I can see the cork ball inside, so I'm assuming it is in working condition.) The centerpiece for this funky necklace is a vintage whistle*. Nothing funky about that, but wait! It has been adorned with a gorgeous, square cut, vintage chandelier prism, measuring almost 1" square! The whistle is a bit tarnished, with just a smidgeon of rust, silver color, measuring 2" long, including the bail. Funky, fabulous and oh so far out... this necklace is unbelievable. 22" of chunky antiqued brass color chain holds a multitude of goodness. The centerpiece is an antique optical lens, consisting of an ornate brass color ring, holding what appears to be a round lucite/rubber material, that has a off-kilter cut out, holding four ruby red glass tubes. What purpose this lens was for is anyone's guess??? It measures 2" including the bale. Another chain, this time vintage, antiqued brass color and double linked is attached to the other chain assymetrically. From every single link, a tiny, cream color vintage faux pearl is hand wired. At one end of the double link chain hangs a vintage brass heart shaped locket, a faceted wheel of black onyx, and a tiny antique key. At the other end of the double link chain, hangs an antique Virgin Mary religious medallion, a vintage blood red swarovski crystal, which then leads to a 2 1/2" repurposed vintage rhinestone brooch, that attaches to the other end of the chunky chain. The necklace closes with a lobster claw clasp, and can be shortened upon request. Whew!!! That's a lot of vintage and antique goodies, all combined to create one heck of a necklace! After asking me "where do you come up with these things?", and telling me how simple it is to come up with a story for my creations, the following is my son's version of a good description for my latest piece of jewelry. While reading his description, I'll also let you guess what news article he just read. Enjoy.

In 1905 the doll leg used in this fab piece was a part of Amelia Earhart's favorite childhood toy. During her supposed disappearance the entire doll was lost except for its crappy little leg. I found it on the beach in Galveston. Now it can be on your neck and a little part of Amelia can be on you.

Beyond beautiful, antique amber color faceted glass briolettes, "flapper" beads" I was told by the antique dealer where I found these gems, were once a necklace. But I have revamped them into fabulous shoulder dusters, not for the faint of heart! These earrings measure almost 4" long. The antique glass beads are joined by antique, creamy white faux pearls, not quite chippy, but the patina and texture give away their age... At the top of the earring, two faux pearls are separated by a single, antique aurora borealis Swarovski rondelle, a bit tarnished, but still as sparkly as the day they were first worn. From the bottom of the glass bead, three more faux pearls dangle, providing more movement and interest.

These earrings are one of a kind, and can not be re-produced. I do have more of the faux pearls, and two more sets of the glass briolettes, but no more of the Swarovski rondelles.

Two beautiful, deconstructed vintage earrings, comprised of black lucite flowers, clear rhinestones, and brass color metal, grace either side of a re-purposed vintage belt buckle. The former buckle link is also in the shape of flowers. All measure approximately 1 3/4" in diameter. They hang from a chunky antiqued brass color chain, measuring 16", closing with a large lobster claw clasp, with the width of the flower centerpiece adding an additional 3". From beneath the flowers, hangs a small length of the same chain, with an antique crucifix hanging where the chain meets. A beautiful, antique silver color ornate stamping of a bird bath joins the crucifix, as does a faceted, clear glass bead, capped with a flower stamped bead cap.
