Finally... by popular demand, we have released a pattern for a sofa pillow sized version of our best-selling 101 Patchwork Owl Family. He's big and irresistibly huggable at 16" tall, 13" wide and 3" deep.

Sewing pattern with full-sized pieces and detailed instructions makes a fun weekend project for beginning and long-time seamsters alike.

Make this owl pillow using the fabric of your choice - the pattern works well with quilting cottons and decorator weight fabrics alike. Our cover version was even made from wool flannel! See the alternate picture for my prototype version made from quilting cotton and vinyl (with my fabulous chartreux cat, Miss Sophie - cat not included).

Fabric requirements:
1/2 Yard Fabric A (Head, belly, eyes, beak)
2/3 Yard Fabric B (Wings, back, sides, facial disc)
at least 24 oz of fiberfill

The Concert Bag gets its name from a prototype that I tested at a rock concert years ago. It arose from my need to carry a slim, hands-free, fashionable bag that would also generously fit my tickets, wallet, keys, cell phone, camera, sunglasses, and lipstick. The original bag was a smashing success - it was finally retired after several more concerts, years of compliments, and lots of trips to the grocery store. Years of use added many improvements to this final design.

This bag takes little time and fabric to make, so you may be tempted to make several for yourself or friends! Don’t be afraid to use big prints and experiment!

Concert Bag measures 9” x 11” when finished, and features two secure front zippered pockets and an extra deep open back pocket for quick access to keys... or enough room for a poster and a couple of sharpies for nabbing autographs! 52” sling strap allows the bag to be worn across the body for hands-free activity whether saluting with a lighter, twirling a glo-stick, or shopping for veggies!

Do you sew and love owls or know someone that does? Then this adorable new Owl stuffie sewing pattern could be for you! Make them for yourself or for gifts - they're sure to capture someone's heart!

My original Atelier Chouette pattern includes detailed instructions, including how-to information about basic hand stitching. All pattern pieces are included actual-size with 1/4" seam allowances. Recommended fabrics for these owls are cotton broadcloth or quilting cottons and common polyester craft felt. Easy enough for advanced beginners to do, fun enough for experienced sewers to make.

Please note that my patterns come to you the old-fashioned way: printed on paper with a good-quality plastic zip-top bag that you can use to store your pattern pieces (or your owl hand-work-in-progress). I do not offer my patterns as PDF downloads, as I like the aesthetics and tradition of paper patterns.

Largest two owls are 8.5" when finished. Baby owl is 5" when finished - just the right size for your favorite baby or toddler to grasp and hold onto.

Apron Pattern - Flat Front Waist Apron

One of my favorite things is a vintage-style waist apron made with fun pockets and novelty prints. They’re great whether you’re doing dishes or entertaining guests! My own special version of this kitchen classic features a standard rectangular pocket or a novelty embroidered owl pocket.

The Flat Front Waist Apron is a new twist on the old favorite: In place of the puffy gathers along the front, the fullness of the apron is tucked into two pleats on either side above the angled pockets. Contrast bottom band and all-in-one waistband and ties make for easy construction and maximum color.

Single adult size apron measures about 18 1/2” from side to side and is about 19” long from the top of the waistband. Ties are each 34” long. Novelty or standard pockets measure about 5 1/4” x 5 1/4”.

You’ll want to make one for every season - and for everyone on your gift list!
