In March, the California Poppies bloom down the road from me, creating fields of oranges and yellows, with green foliage. This colorway pays homage to them, the colors that drew us to live here. Although you can’t pick the flowers, (it’s a state law) you CAN pick the fiber!

Oh, the Silver Alpaca! I wish Etsy had Feel-O-Vision, because this stuff is so soft! The silver color produces lovely muted heathered results. 100% Alpaca Fiber, Approximately 4 oz Braid.

At first, this just looks like creamy tan batts with a sparkly green streak. But look closer and that cream base is awash in shades of tan and cream, blended with a subtle sparkle of fall shades of firestar. Merino/Hemp, Alpaca, Firestar and Angelina make up these batts.

Green Streak weighs 4.1 oz total.

My Drumcarded Batts Sets are each different and unique. Some are fluffy and squishy, some are sleek and smooth. Some have more add-ins than others. Each will give you a unique spinning experience. The end of the holidays always brings a bit of crazyness, and this set of batts sure falls in there. A Merino/Hemp base with Icicle sparkle in it is topped with chartruse Mohair locks and cranberry Lincoln/Cotswold Locks. A generous helping of silver tinsrl crystal metallic finishes the craziness!

One dictionary definition of Passion is “a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything.” I feel this way about fiber arts, so this colorway is my tribute to that passion. Various shades of red are highlighted by a dash of purple, the colors of passion to me.

My Tussah Silk starts as a lovely natural honey color. Tussah silk comes from a genus of giant silk moths called Antheraea. Tussah Moths eat oak instead of Mulberry, and the honey color is a result of the tannins in oak trees. The diameter of Tussah is thicker, making it easier to spin, but just as lovely and shiny soft as Bombyx. 100% Tussah Silk, Approximately, 2 oz Braid.

While pruning some hot pink Azaleas at my parent’s house, I was struck by the color change when one of the blooms hit the dirt below. Suddenly, there were spots of aqua on the hot pink blooms. The pinks, aqua, green and brown of this colorway captured it just right!

Oh the shimmer! This Merino and Tencel blend makes a lovely soft, shiny yarn, perfect for next to skin. Tencel fiber is made from wood pulp cellulose, and is soft and shiny. 50% Merino Wool and 50% Tencel, Approximately 4 oz Braid.

So if you take a blueberry and squish it…. A clear blue base is highlighted by shaded of purple and blue, just as of you had taken a blueberry and squished it into blueberry gelatin. Yum!!

Somewhere by the side of the road, I spied orange and yellow freeway daisies and that ice plant with the bright purple flowers. It struck me as so pretty, I had to put it on fiber!

Tweed Effect is a blend of Merino/Hemp roving, Mohair, Tussah Silk, Wool Nepps and Sari Silk. The nepps spin in for a bumpy effect, like tweed!

Tweed Effect weighs 3.9oz total.

My Drumcarded Batts Sets are each different and unique. Some are fluffy and squishy, some are sleek and smooth. Some have more add-ins than others. Each will give you a unique spinning experience. Most will create more of a textured finished product. You may find some vegetable matter in them, as I tend to use washed locks quite a bit. Most falls out in the carding process, but you might find a little left, it will easily come out as you spin. Using fleeces helps support small farmers! Looking for a smoother spin? Ok, maybe the sunsets weren’t QUITE this vibrant, but they were sure close. Pinks, oranges and purples reflected off the waters of Phuket Island, in Thailand almost every night when I was there, and made for a stunning memory.

BamAlWool is a funny name for a lovely blend of 49% Bamboo Fiber, 23% Alpaca Fiber and 28% Wool. This fiber dyes up with soft white streaks, as the bamboo fiber does not take up the acid dyes. Approximately 2 oz Braid.

Card them in with other wool for a lovely accent, flick the ends and spin them from the fold, add in a little as you spin for a spot of color. However you use them they’re sure to please!

Emerald Isle – 3.7 oz Drumcarded Batts

This set has a base of Finn and Mohair with icicle for a lightly sparkling group of batts. The greens are deep and rich!

Emerald Isle weighs 3.7 oz total.

My Drumcarded Batts Sets are each different and unique. Some are fluffy and squishy, some are sleek and smooth. Some have more add-ins than others. Each will give you a unique spinning experience. Most will create more of a textured finished product. You may find some vegetable matter in them, as I tend to use washed locks quite a bit. Most falls out in the carding process, but you might find a little left, it will easily come out as you spin. Using fleeces helps support small farmers! Looking for a smoother spin? Your friends will be green with ENVY when they see you with this yarn! Lovely shades of pale and darker green with hints of turquoise for contrast and streaks of the base cream throughout.

Sock is 75% Superwash Wool and 25% Nylon for strength. Your skein will be approximately 4 oz and 430 yards.

The skein pictured is representative of this colorway, your skein may vary slightly, as handdyeing does not produce an exact result from lot to lot. I do my best to ensure they will be as close as possible. I use professional Lanaset or WashFast Acid Dyes in various methods to dye your skein of yarn.

Shaded Forest - Panda Bamboo Wool Nylon Combed Top

Deep in the shade of the forest, colors peek out from under fallen logs and mossy rocks. Shades of green and brown dominate, with patches of orange.

Panda is a fun blend of 60% Superwash Merino Wool, 30% Rayon sourced from Bamboo and 10% Nylon. Perfect for spinning up a pair of socks, or any other items that need to be washed frequently and felting is not wanted. The bamboo gives it extra softness and shine. Approximately 4 oz braid.

The braid or skein pictured is representative of this colorway; your braid may vary slightly, as handdyeing does not produce an exact result from lot to lot. I do my best to ensure they will be as close as possible. I use professional Lanaset or WashFast Acid Dyes in various methods to dye your skein of yarn or braid of fiber.
