This is an original charcoal drawing on quality archival paper. It is a double self portrait drawn from life using a mirror in my studio. This is an earlier piece from my portfolio and it has just become available for purchase. I'm particularly interested in expressing the human condition and the idea of a person having two-selves. I've been working with this concept with a lot of my figure work over the years.

Girl With Poppies II - Original Painting - Large 24 x 24

Description:
This is an original painting in oil, acrylic, charcoal, and metallic copper pigment on stretched canvas. It is 24 x 24" and the sides are staple-free so it is ready to hang on your wall without a frame. This is a portrait of a young woman bundled up with a green scarf with upside down poppies. I wanted to capture her personality with the variety of mixed media and with bright flat colors. The metallic background has a reflective quality that doesn't show well in the photographs I have taken. I wanted to juxtapose the more realistic portrait with the flatness of the acrylic clothing paired against abstract colorful poppies on a reflective copper background. It has been sprayed with an archival fixative and final varnish to maintain the fresh look of it being just from the studio.

About this Artwork:
It is a whimsical, colorful piece that also is functional as a clock. Acrylic and collage on stretched canvas. The canvas/stretcher is shaped like a house, very unique! The sides are painted, so it is ready to hang, no need for framing. The surface is sealed, protected, and archival. You can display this piece as decoration, as a clock, or both!

It takes one double AA battery for the back of the clock. Includes a pack of AA batteries with your purchase. This is the first of the series of "functional clock" paintings that I'm working on in my art studio.
