I am in love with making these bright & delightful paper star books.
I have several of these stars hanging around my desk at work and I love the pop of color & personality they bring to my space.
They can be hung as is or you can let your creative side play and cut or punch holes in the layers to let the other colors come through in unique ways, or you can add embellishments as you see fit.

They also make fantastic holiday decorations, I plan to make several to place on my tree as well as hang in my front window.

At the widest point the star is 4" and the star stands 3.5" tall. Metric measurements are 10.1cm at the widest point and 8.9cm tall.

Recycled Blue Leather, Long Stitch Journal

This leather comes from my local craft reuse center MECCA. It was donated by a local upholstery company and it's their scraps given new life. Sadly as I got it from MECCA and not the upholstery company I don't know what kind of leather this book is made of.

This journal features a wonderful blue leather, however my husband and 2 other males have called it green. Maybe it depends on your gender! Take your pick, I like the color no matter what you want to call it.
The journal has some stitching holes along the top of the left flap and a small pen mark down the right flap. True marks of being recycled materials!

The closure for this journal is a long skinny wrap around tie that is about 26" long and a little less than .5" wide or 66cm long and 1.25cm wide.

This book contains 108 single or 216 double sided pages of a fine grey paper that contains 25% cotton fibers. The paper is 24lb acid free & archival quality.

This book is 5.625"x4.5" and 1" tall or 14.3cm x 11.5cm and 2.5cm tall.

This trio of recycled vegan friendly notebooks are wrapped in a fun recycled paper that came from Kenya. I worked for a fair trade African imports company and the soapstone often comes wrapped in this paper. The paper is almost slick feeling and has a neat shine in certain light angles. It is kinda crumpled looking as I saved the paper from the recycling bin and it has been wrapped around various shapes of soapstone. One of the blue books has a white streak and some tape around it where it was taped before; I think it adds some great charm to the cover!
They are vegan because they contain no glue or wax on the thread. The covers are created from one large piece of paper that has been folded up many times to create the white edge and pockets on the inside.

These fun little notebooks contain 22 single or 44 double-sided pages. The blue books alternate between white and baby blue pages with the middle of the book containing two white sheets, the red book is all white paper. Both papers are 24lb acid free archival quality papers.

The outside dimensions of these books are roughly 6.75”x4.5” or 17cm x 11.5cm. The dimensions of the text block are 5.5”x4.25” and 15cm x 11cm.

These earrings are too adorable for words! And they work too!

These earrings are made entirely from scraps of my larger projects. The inner pages are trimmings from my silk screen class and are a thick print making paper.

Big Maple Leaf Celtic Weave Sketchbook

This sketchbook is wrapped in a fun dark tan paper with lighter tan maple leaves on it. This paper is another great handmade paper and it has just a slight bit of texture to it when you rub your fingers over it.
The inside end sheets are a great natural colored paper with fun gold flecks (which look like brown flecks in the photo) that goes great with the maple leaves on the covers.

This book was sewn with two Celtic Weave stitching stations and one Coptic. The Celtic Weave functions like a Coptic in that it will open and lay completely flat, while adding a great decorative and structural element to the book. Each sewing station is just shy of 1" or 2cm wide. The book was sewn with hand waxed Irish linen thread. On the top cover all the stitching is all green, while the back cover has four white and two green holes.
Each sewing hole has a eyelet to make them stronger, I'm tempted to call them a metallic burgundy brown. The color is hard to describe but they look awesome on the sketchbook.

The text block is made from Fabriano artist paper that is 160g/m2. It is a very thick & toothy art paper that can handle any amount of ink or the wettest of watercolors. The paper is acid free archival quality. The text block measure 8.25"x5.75" or 21cmX15cm. The text block is 40 single or 80 double sided pages.

The covers are 8.5"x6" or 21.5cmX15.5cm and the book is 1" or 2.5cm tall.

I love this journal, the paper is a fun squirrel & acorn paper and features a natural tan linen book cloth along the spine. This journal also has a complimenting thin brown silky ribbon bookmark.
The squirrel and nut paper is brown that has bright yellow, light green scalloped dots with squirrels facing each other and the white scalloped dots with acorns in them.
The inside end papers are a bright yellow canson paper to match the dots on the cover paper.

The text block is made from archival quality 80lb Co-Mo Sketch paper with 20% post consumer content. It is toothy with excellent erasing qualities and is double sized to accept wet media/light washes.

The book is the perfect size to put into a clutch or purse and is great for an on the go companion. It measures 9.25" long, 4.5" wide, and is a half inch thick or 23.5cm long, 11.5cm wide, and 1.5cm tall.

The paper features a fun Indian motif, my favorite part of the pattern is on the front bottom right with the rider on the elephant. The paper has two different shades of green, white, and maroon accents.

This fabric journal has the perfect feel for those cold long winter months. The icy blue background color of the fabric reminds me of the color of my windshield with a thick coat of frost on it. The wonderful grey circle pattern is done in velvet and really makes this fabric a wonderful treat for your fingers. I've finished the journal delicate silver organza ribbon.

The text block is made from 3 separate sections sewn to the fabric. Each section has 20 single pages for a total of 60 single pages or 120 double sided pages. The way this book is sewn it will open completely flat. The text block is made from a 24lb light grey marble acid free archival quality 25% cotton paper. The ivory cover paper is handmade and hand printed with dark purple, olive green, and brick red flowers and vines. The spine is wrapped in a matching dark purple book cloth and the inside end sheets are a lightly textured delicate pink paper.
