In Chinese symbology, the cricket symbolizes courage. For this two-color printed design, we've paired this little guy with a hand-written letter for a complex yet minimal effect.

This set of four note cards was hand silk screen printed with my trusty Gocco printer on white folded cards. The cards, when folded, measure 4" x 5.5"* and come with swank red envelopes, packaged in a clear cello sleeve.

The cricket is an iconic image in Chinese culture. These little critters have been kept as pets for centuries, and sometimes on the streets, vendors will pass by, carrying hundreds of signing crickets, each in its own woven basket.

Here's how it works:

Send your 1-color design to Bamboo Village Press in JPG, TIF or EPS format. Send one image or several, allowing 1" between images.

We create a custom silk screen for you using a Japanese Gocco Silk Screen Printer.

Printable area: 6.5" x 9"

You'll receive your screen, a small squeegee, and three Gocco cloth inks of your color choice: brown, black, white, red, yellow, blue or green.

With loving care, screens can be used for hundreds of prints on paper or cloth - for best results, use on smooth, natural fabrics (cotton, linen, wool, silk).

We will test the screen with white ink before sending it to you to make sure it prints properly. Screen will be cleaned but it will show that it has been previously inked.
