I've used laundered vintage lingerie in the making of this black rose and I've sewn a wonderful vintage sparkly red glass button in the center. The rose is sewn to a bright red jersey stretch headband that measures about 7" in diameter and will stretch to about 12"--I consider this to be a medium size. I love making old into new.

I've used laundered vintage cream-colored satin lingerie in the making of this rose. I sewed three pearls gleaned from vintage jewelry in the center and attached it with thread to a light blue satin stretch headband. The headband measures 9" in diameter and can stretch to about 15"--I consider this a large sized headband--and the rose measures about 2 1/2" in diameter, the edges of which are slightly frayed. I love making old into new.

I used laundered vintage lingerie in the making of this satin rose, the edges of which are frayed. I love the look and hope you will too. Three lovely crystal beads gleaned from vintage jewelry adorn the center of the flower. I've sewn it on a jersey stretch headband (8" to 12" diameter stretch)--medium to large size. It's fun making old new again.

By using a copy of an old image and adding new antique gold-colored felt, I have redone a round vintage glass paperweight. It measures 3" in diameter and is about 1 1/2" high. The way the paper has adhered makes th image look old. Flecks of silver or gold, depending on how it is held, seem to dance over her face. It will have my name and date on a paper sticker on the bottom.

This "ham" measures about 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" and is covered on one side with red, gray and cream plaid. The opposite side is covered with muslin. There is one hole in the wool side (see photo) and the muslin is slightly dirtied in a few spots (see photo). Other than that it is in very good and useable shape. It has been acquired from a smoke and animal-free environment. It weighs three pounds, thus the large amount of postage (I charge only for postage, not handling).

This tile measures about 1 foot square, is divided into four sections, each of which can be cut apart. This is part of a larger piece that has been cut and sharp edges sanded. Most of the white paint has peeled off and rust covers most of it. The pattern is pronounced in the back, see photo number 2. This will be wrapped in bubble wrap and brown paper and because of its weight, it will be mailed USPS Priority Mail.

This book would make a great altered book. It weighs about 2 pounds and is full of great poems and stories. The pages have a beautiful sepia patina and the leather cover is worn on the spine and corners. The spine is not broken and the pages are thick so other pages could easily be removed and the remaining ones altered. There are about 6 torn pages (about 1 inch tears) and one page has a rip of about 2 inches repaired with opague tape. One section has red tape near the spine, a possible mending. All pages are intact within the spine. It measures about 6 1/4" x 8 1/4". The front, back and spine have the gold outlined divisions. All pages have the red outline--perfect for framing a photo, picture or section for writing. The end papers are a beautiful brown floral design. The title page reads: "The latest and most popular literary gems for public and parlor entertainment. Selected by the leading elocutionists and readers of the country. Edited by Daphne Dale, 1891. Elliott and Beezley, Chicago-Philadelphia" There is handwriting by the owner on a fly leaf--very quaint saying: "Miss Lillie Serius (sp?), Woonsocket(sp?), South Dakota, Sanborn Co., U.States America, Planet Earth, Western Hemisphere." Many mixed media artists enjoy using old German type. This book includes a bonus--16 (one in color) illustrations. There are about 10 or so torn pages but all pages are intact. This is bound in a beautiful and (for the artist) reuseable maroon hard cover (keep those altered books in mind here) with an engraved front and back cover and gold lettering on the spine. The book is called "Schatzkastlein" by the American Book Company. There is an owner's name written in blue ink on the front end paper.
