Made by M.B Melamine Italy, this tip tray was brought home by my father who was the purchasing agent of the Empress Hotel until the early 1980's.
He often had the fun job of checking out the latest gift shop treasures,and sometimes even bringing home an item or two ( usually only if they had excess items or ones slightly damaged ).

In very good to excellant condition, used only for display.

I forgot I had this book, hidden boxed in the attic for over 30 years.

This is A Big Golden Book ( also Golden Press & Golden Book ) hardcover edition of Pinocchio. Adapted by Al Dempster, story adapted by Steffi Fletcher, based on the story by Collodi.
Twenty-second printing 1973.

Very nice condition, strong spine, no page tears/marks/stains/smells. The only thing I found is some 'invisible writing indentations' on top of the front hard cover, when I wrote on paper on top of the book
( can tell it's my handwriting from when I was a child ). You have to turn the book in bright light to see the indents.

12.75" long (32.4cm) x 9.5" wide (24.1cm), 14 pages with wonderful illustrations.

Will be mailed with a layer of bubble wrap & brown paper.

Happy Snowman Christmas Tags Vintage Inspired Retro Whimsy Glitter

Ooh I love the colours of these tags, deep pink/sky blue/red !

The 'happy snowman' image was printed on matte presentation paper from one of my vintage 1950's Christmas cards.
-Attached to deep pink cardstock which were snipped using my mom's vintage pinking sewing scissors.
Each sweet snowman was given his own tiny red metal heart brad.
Edged with large & fine glitter and finished with fun red & pink fiber hangers.
-Back of tags have a raised smaller piece of card with a plastic shimmery blue rhinestone. Use these pieces to write on and later, if you choose, the cards could carefully be removed so you're left with a blank tag again.

Set of 4 cards, 4" long (10.2cm) x 2.50" wide (6.4cm).
I plan to make more !

Once belonged to my parents, the tray images are in wonderful condition, but you will find some thin fine scratchies around the rims and a small rust spot near bottom rim of the tray with yellow lady.
I feel they don't detract and, instead, add to the charm of these trays.

Burgundy and Sage Vintage Reinvented Adderley Rose Necklace ooak

About 3 years ago I created a trio of rose necklaces, from a found and damaged vintage Adderley bone china bowl of roses decoration. A yellow one went to a friend, a pink one to my dear mom and I have this pretty red/burgundy one for you.

I carefully sanded out any chips on the rose petals and back. A necklace of red, sage, peacock czech glass beads and two vintage aurora borealis jet-type glass beads was siliconed to the back of the rose. I then painted the back with acrylic paint and sealed back of rose with a satin
polyurethane varnish. Vintage goldtone curb chain was attached to the beaded necklace and the rose was finished with a siliconed dangle of more czech glass beads, another vintage ab jet-type glass bead and two sage swarovski crystals.

-Total length: 16.5" long (41.9cm.). Necklace can slide on/off head easily but I`ve also attached a vintage goldtone lobster clasp ( should you prefer
to not touch your hair ).
-Rose is 2" across (5.1cm.)

A lovely necklace for that lovely lady.

**Please note: photos do not capture the colours of this piece correctly. The rose is more of a light to dark burgundy with a very subtle shade of purple. In different lights it sometimes takes on a red hue.

Sweet collection of 6 handmade felt mice wearing prim-style clothing, plastic bead eyes, removeable plastic whiskers and each holding their own special item.

I do not know the age of these creations, what they are stuffed with or who made them, but they have a surprise.....

5 of the 6 mice have a glued on shiny bright red heart sequin on their chests under their dresses !♥

Description:

-2 mice holding baskets, the one with glasses is missing her little heart
-Parasol on white mouse has broken spokes but doesn't detract and she's missing her plastic whiskers
-Mouse holding flowers is missing one bead eye
-Red gingham mouse holds a little wooden ball
-Mouse in white is missing her plastic whiskers and holds a sweet mouse baby

Apart from the minor 'boo-boos' they are all in nice condition.
4.25" tall and have slighly rounded bottoms.

Popeye's vintage shiny red faceted glass buttons were attached with extra floss to give him his 'popeyed' look
( hence the name ).
He sports a vintage mother of pearl button nose, a lightly glittered smile and a tiny metal red heart brad pin ( which could be easily removed if you choose ). His felt is a stuffed bubble gum pink colour.

1980's Punk Rocker Handmade Felt Brooch Anarchy Whimsy ooak ZNE

Created from a drawing I made back in the mid-1980's, my version of what punks looked like back then ( before lip/eyebrow/tongue rings took off ).
I was a wannabe punker but dressed more new-wavish instead.

This guy sports handpainted acrylic hair ( black also painted over the blanket stitching ), sewn chain/jump ring & beads for face embellishments, 3 silver crimp beads squashed & glued, 2 handmade cardboard punk buttons and a wire & floss wrapped cigarette. Bits of chain too.
Satin varnish coats the painted hair & gloss varnish coats his jacket and punk buttons.
There were many knots, so I covered most of them with additional black felt and finished off with a securely attached safety pin.

5.75" long (14.6 cm.)& 2.75" wide (7 cm.)

A Drop or Two Vintage Reconstructed Chandelier Necklace

I thank the rain that inspired me to create this necklace. The rain shimmering when the sun peeked through, the droplets on the remaining Summer flowers, creating a tiny water world....

This elegant vintage reinvented necklace consists of cascading chandelier crystals, aurora borealis glass beads, a rich red celluloid flower (from a broken brooch) with red flatback rhinestone and 7 diamond-like glass rhinestones attached to the silvertone filigree base.

I've left the original 'slip over your head' silvertone chain but attached two modern lobster claw closures.
Why two ? So you can shorten the necklace !

Total length is
- 18.5" (47 cm.) and can be shortened down to
- 12.5" (31.8 cm.)

As with all of my necklaces, have fun with them but do take care if you plan to play rough. I do my best to make sure attachments are secure, but harsh pulling/hitting might result in something coming off. And please remove if you feel like taking a dip.

**These pieces are considered one-of-a-kind (ooak) because I am using parts from vintage broken jewelry and often will only have just one or two good parts to play with.
I will never reproduce the same necklace twice, unless I come across the exact same findings which, for the time being, is very doubtful.

A glittering sweet delight with lots of bling and no calories !

This is what I call 'vintage reinvented' --using various vintage pieces from my 20+ year collection of broken jewelry.

Vintage open goldtone metal base prettily frames a lovely old de-clasped brooch ( with original pink & purple rhinestones & faux pearl ), framed with champagne bugle beads,luscious pink rhinestone necklace bits and topped off with shimmering aurora borealis chain pieces.
Bottom portion of necklace chain is goldtone but I do not know if the upper chain is also goldtone or something more extravagant, either way, the combo looks elegant.
To complete the look I added a dangle consisting of an aurora borealis swarovski rivoli bead, modern pink glass bicone and a modern plastic purple rivoli bead -this can easily be removed and used elsewhere if you wish ( cel phone charm perhaps, or single earring ? ).

-Necklace is 17"long (43.2 cm.) and easily slips over head.
**If you would like the chain shortened, please send me a message & I will shorten it to the length you'd like, with lobster clasp, without any additional charge.
-Pendant is 2.25" (5.7cm.) long x 1.75" (4.4cm.) wide. Has a nice weight too.

This beautiful vintage demi parure set consists of deep purple (amethyst) & pale pink-violet (possible tanzanite) prongset glass rhinestones in goldtone settings.
Pieces are unmarked except for the earring clip on mechanisms which each have a patent number:pat 156452. This number dates to 1949.
I am not sure about the age but will put it from the 1950's to the 1960's.

-Brooch is 1.75" across and has a domed effect ( smaller rhinestones set in a criss cross pattern ).
-Clip ons are 0.75" across and also domed with the large rhinestones higher than the small ones.

Very nice condition for this pre-owned & gently used set.
No missing stones, sparkly & eye catching, brooch clasp and earring mechanisms are strong & secure.

The set will arrive in the box they were found in (only to the U.S. & International). Marked 'Distinctive Jewellery', the hard case is a cream color with goldtone metal accents,some scuff marks. The removable jewelry holder insert is a soft plushy white.

What a find, literally ! ( see pic. 3 )

We're in the process of creating a garden plot for next year.
While separating sod from dirt, I came across ISH 51, was almost going to throw it out ! But I picked it up again, had a good long look & decided it would make a unique necklace.

**See below for info & image links about this unique piece of license 'strip'.

Necklace creation:

-ISH 51 was cleaned of most dirt, some was left to
keep that true vintage look. Holes drilled and all sharp edges were smoothed over. 3 coats of indoor/outdoor polyurethane varnish cover the front. A strip of white felt was added to smooth out the back & keep the cold metal off your skin !
-I attached 3 vintage glass chandelier crystals & 3 vintage blue AB glass necklace beads
-Finished with silver plated necklace & two lobster clasps for adjusting length of necklace.

Total length goes from 18" down to 10.5".
-Pendant alone is 3" tall & 3.75" wide

ISH 51 ( or BRITISH (year) COLUMBIA ) is part of a validation strip which would be placed over top of the 1950 base license plate.

For the Resident Evil gamers out there....

One of the first games our son played was Resident Evil 2
for the Nintendo 64. This was the beginning of his love for all things Resident Evil !

Video Games Live came to Victoria B.C. this year for the first time. I knew our son would love to go, so I not only bought tix for us, but also made him a Res. Evil t-shirt and myself this Res. Evil necklace.

I used shrink plastic to create the richly colored eye.
The 'drops of blood' glass beaded chains came from a candle holder & the no.2 charm is very lightweight.

Although it was worn only once, I chose to remove the original black satin necklace cord and replace it with double strand black ribbon and a barrel closure.

The pendant has a glossy waterbased varnish but it is not waterproof, so no water fun please.

Measures: 13" long total.
The ribbon part is 7.5" long.
Pendant is 3.25" wide.

A fun piece of gamer jewellery to wear all year round.

Steampunk Pirate's Booty Earrings Upcycled Trashion Glam AAARGhhhh

"Arrgh matey, you've gone all steamy ! And what's that treasure yer hidin ? Give it over !"

A pair of shiny golden plastic Pirate dubloons were the inspirations for these 'look at me' earrings.

The vintage elements are:
aurora borealis stones hanging from 1940's copper phone wire, black prongset rhinestones on eyes, black faceted diamond shaped glass beads ( could be jet glass ), tiny mother of pearl shells,broken pieces of rhinestone jewels & two different fish ( the smaller is brass ).

I've added some Steampunk bits from a digital watch & attached smokey black rhinestones from discarded earrings.
The pirate sides of the coins were lightly darkened with black acrylic paint & then covered with a resin-like gloss. The treasure chest sides were untouched. Of course I had to include a pair of locks !

Everything hangs from brass jump rings and finished with gold plated nickel free ear wires.

They measure just a little over 3.5" long from topmost jump ring.
Coins are 1.25" wide.

Wonderful treasure for yer ears, aaargh !

The Colors of My Heart Handsewn Fabric Brooch. Shabby Love ZNE

Our hearts carry so much emotion, emotion that I see as colorful ribbons of energy.

The heart was made using soft jersey-type fabric & then lightly stuffed. I then chose 4 different colors of floss to represent the popular feelings our hearts get filled with:

Black- anger/dark times
Various blues: gentle sadness to feeling depressed
Various pinks: all types of love ( motherly, spousal, friend, sexual, etc...)
Various yellows: joy, pure happiness, sunshine moments, etc...

A selection of beads ( mostly czech glass, some plastic ) enhance the threads, which I made sure to add more of the happy colors pink and yellow. Bright golden beads are for those really memorable joyful moments! And a piece of glittery thread is a gentle reminder that we all have a special spark.

Finished with bugle beading and blanket stitched all around. A touch of glue here and there to prevent fraying of floss ends. A safety pin means your heart will stay secure. Handsewn initials too.

3.75" (9.5 cm.) across & 4.5" (11.5 cm.) high, meant to be seen !

Charming Marilyn Altered Art Charm Pink Glitter ZNE

Here's a charming charm for the Marilyn Monroe fan.

The vintage Marilyn image was taken from a vintage 1980's magazine.
-Hair hand tinted with pink acrylic paint, lips lightly tinted with gel pen & then decoupaged onto painted stiff card with complimenting paper on the back.
-Finished with hand stitching, glitter, faux pink rhinestones, pink grommet. A vintage white lucite plastic heart ( from earring ) was colored pink with ink pen and attached with pink anodized aluminum jump ring, and a handmade large shabby twisted wire jump ring on top to easily slide onto larger chains.
-Satin waterbased varnish covers the charm, a high gloss varnish covers front of heart ( back of heart was left unpainted ).
-Charm is slightly over 3.5" long and slightly over 2" wide.
-Will arrive with a 30" length of pink ribbon to tie around your neck for instant glam !

Though it was created on stiff card and sealed, I do not recommend wearing this in wet areas.

A fun whimsical pendant to wear with tshirts, hang inside a scrapbook, turn into a bookmark, etc...

Created onto a base of red & black basic felt, Mr.Kong's image came from a vintage Evergreen magazine -decoupaged onto cardstock & then 'framed' under a handstitched vintage 35mm photo slide -with King Kong decoupaged by the crown. His crown is an altered & painted hairclip. Red czech glass beads, silver sequins and black plastic tassle fringe add some pop and glam to this piece. Slide and crown have been covered with a 3 dimensional gloss for a touch of depth.

Here is the first of my 3-in-1 felt & fabric art pendants. Wear it as a necklace or a brooch or stick it on your fridge !

I chose a house theme for this one. Consisting of handstitched felt pieces, vintage fabric, paint ( windows, roof & door ) & a tiny czech glass bead for the doorknob. It is just under 2.75" wide & just over 3" long, meant to be seen.

Pendant hangs from a removable purple slip-knotted ribbon which adjusts from 9" to 15.5". The jump ring folds down to turn into a brooch or use as a magnet ( light magnet backing. A unique way to show off your jewellery ! ). It would also be possible to hang from a picture hook if you so desire, perhaps even inside a frame. A versatile piece !

All creations are made from my hands, heart & crazy imagination. Considered one-of-a-kind (ooak) because no two of my creations are exactly the same. My finishing touches may have a shabby look which are intentional ♥

But, 'badge of honor' gave me this brilliant idea --make a pair of stinky socks you could wear..on your shirt, or jacket, or wherever else you want to proudly wave them.

So here you go ! Mini versions created from a pair of my husbands socks ( sorry to say, these ones don't have a smell, they are brand new ). Lightly stuffed and then blanket stitched all the way around. Handsewn eyes and mouth, finished with 3 colors of floss wrapped around sturdy wire, glass beads on ends & sewn onto/into socks.
A safety pin on each provides a secure attachment to whatever you plan to attach them too.

One sock is 7" long, the other is 6.5", they are meant to be seen ! And yes you get BOTH to keep or share.

Vintage 1970s Faux Suede Drawstring Funky Hippy Pouch Bag Made in Hong Kong

A friend of my moms gave me this bag back in the early 1970's, I believe it belonged to her so it could be even older.

The bag is in wonderful condition for it's age. No rips, tears, stains, bad smells, etc...but there is one very small pinhole just inside the bag near the top, which I never noticed until really scrutinizing the bag --pinhole does not detract from the bag at all.
Also, until last year the bag had been stored in a cardboard box, along with other items, in my parents attic since the late 70's ( I didn't play with it much ), so there is a bit of an old attic smell ( that musty-type scent ) but not overpowering.

I'm not sure what the material is, makes me think of suede but it's much softer. The inside is lined with a vinyl-plastic-like material & provides some stiffness to the bag. A simple tag inside says 'Made in Hong Kong'

What a fun fashion accesory for the girl who loves vintage, hippy styles, 70's mod or just likes to have a piece of the past.
Would also be great for a Halloween Hippy costume ;)

Bag is 11" long ( with fringe ) x 8.5" wide. Inside is 9" deep.

Charmblies: whimsical paper dolls that come with their own altered art charm, maybe even a bonus surprise :)

I love the 1927 sci-fi movie Metropolis by Fritz Lang and had to create a Charmbly with one of my fav. main characters ~Maria~

--Dolly is 9.5" long & created with modern papers decoupaged onto recycled cereal box & edged in paint. Maria's head embellished with marker & red heart brad.
Sealed with water-based varnish.
I've attached a small ribbon loop so she can hang from a hook, a gift, or whatever you fancy.

--The earrings are 2" long ( not including shepherd hooks ) & show the beginning transformation of Maria ( an evil robot clone was made of her by the evil mad scientist ! )
--The charm pendant is 2.5" long & is a mini version of a Metropolis poster showing Maria robot.

Earrings and pendant come with pink & purple anodized aluminum jump rings,glass beaded dangles & lobster claws for an added funky modern touch ( removeable too ! ).
Sides & edges painted, spray varnish to protect but not waterproof.

Spring Blossom Blob Handmade Brooch ZNE

Michael Millar's gorgeous 'Spring Sakura' fabric was the inspiration for this sweet brooch.

A faux red flower with painted gold accents & two felt flowers were handstitched onto the fabric to give dimension & a bit of depth. 3 pink felt balls & a plastic flat flower were glued for a bit of whimsy.
A light stuffing gives it a pillow look and edges were blanket stitched & then dabbed with blue and coppery-gold Lumiere paints.
Signed on the back with my initial 'T'.

This fun brooch is 4 1/4" wide x 4" high and will arrive in a bubble envelope.

Beautiful Japanese fabric was the inspiration for this pretty brooch.

The fabric was blanket stitched onto a piece of vintage lingerie and embellished with a faux spring blossom sewn to the heart, tinted with golden paint & a faux pink crystal for some shimmer.
The dangly consists of two fabric flowers cut from Michael Millar's 'Spring Sakuara' fabric, encased in plastic 'bubbles' edged with golden paint & hanging from pink czech glass beads.
Signed with my initial 'T'.
