"Gingko, Ginkgo Hearted 2" is the 2nd of a mesmerizing foliage that leaves me stumped at their marvelous wonder. No two are the same. It's dominant leaf demands your attention and conveys a clear message in tantalizing tones of amber, yellow, red and a hint of gray. Soft and sure.

My signature images started this way...
In November I disembarked from a bus in downtown Chicago. This is the corner that's monitored by Picasso's sculpture in Daly Plaza. There, at my feet, was a gingko leaf whose shape was distinctly that of a heart. Number one, where had the leaf come from and two, how could I use this inspiration? I went to work and bent over watercolor paper to ink in the heart and a sweetness was born. I hope you love it as much as I do. The leaf occupies an honored space in my journal and now the painting can inspire you - on your wall or desk... guarding your corner.

Home time. Happy season. A time for reflection and reflective lighting. Traditions are sweet habits. Memories of Dad hanging the lights just as Mom pointed where they should go, are common. But gathering afterward and admiring it together is unique to each and every family. Stories stack up, year by year. A new one for each funny event. Something to treasure and retell when the holidays loom on the horizon with the people we hold dear. Families are funny and most of the time, we'd have it no other way. We make each other unique and we make each other strong. Even in the face of predictability, we rely on each other for comic relief, we challenge each other. Who else is gonna call on us on our bogus moves? Someone needs to keep us grounded. In time of good, we're hanging lights, popping popcorn or decorating the tree. That's my wish for you all. Happy Holidays, all!

The first offering of a lovely pear that's accompanied by a single nut and a smattering of leaves. I love the non-traditional perspective and am pleased with the way the sketch turned out. Bella! This tiny study in contrasting colors is so brightly hued it demands a closer look. A meld of pleasing shapes and easy styling, it is deceptively cheery. Colors? Introducing sassy and bright, "Patterned After 2 ... " It brings to mind a batik pattern or ethnic fabric print. Fun with colors playing against other vivid colors, these distinctly different stripes meld to form a cohesive pattern meant to sizzle. Singing colors built on bold strokes, a symphony of hues that end on a cheery note. A rainbow of colors to boldly pictured - a medley of red, green, yellow, purple, orange and blues. And if that fails, resources are there for understanding how to change things and protect yourself. But better still is the sheer joy of escape. Librarians are undersung and this innocent drawing pokes a little fun at those endearing soldiers of the page. Educational opportunities abound in between book covers, on discs and in the research department. History, mystery and biography, just a small fraction of the treasure of your local library.

Spider and eye equals speyder. Your analysis awaits. Is the demon coming out or a demon protecting its habitat? Pupil could be pupae... Web and lash on a fantastical journey of portrait in strange.

SERIOUSLY THOUGH...they say it won't be long before our minds can be read. Unreal? For a limited time only because what was once science fiction usually gives way to reality. In this case, they already are! Limited but in the process. Shocking, I know. It'll be a flawed reality I think. Let's discuss this a bit. Will a thought be provoked by a suggestion, or maybe by an innocent remark? Can a train of thought be hinted at and, if so, will it be flagged as an un-original thought? Not one that was a true exercise of the brain's free will. Could it make the computer hit a glitch?

This painting is a futuristic look at the "bug" or "human/computer virus" that will doom a state-of-the-art tool. So much for reading the minds of who? Of criminals, the shopping public or inventor "wana-bes" in search of lucrative patents or military giants in search of the next victory? Or God forbid, the leader with an over-eager finger hovering over "THE" button. What of the Supreme Court-bound cases to be heard regarding illegal or telling thoughts? Hey, maybe eventually it will it be judged by a machine designed to read the minds of discarded judges...

'Til they're golden deliciouth!" Cindy and Honey laugh their butts off! Wicked Girls! The boys huddle, watching and thinking the trio ARE a bunch-o-fireworks!

Fine art, gestural drawn in charcoal and conté crayon. Live models posed for these portraits.

As evidenced by the "frames" example, these prints make quite a statement when matted and framed. I've chosen the sizes listed below for the way they fit 11"x14" frames as you can see. It may look a little different if standard 5"x7" mat openings are utilized for that size frame. The matting shown here is custom-cut for the "phat" mat that incorporates an offset, wider bottom. It offers a more gallery-like statement. The subject content is absolutely perfect for master bedroom, bath and more public spaces.

Black charcoal and conté crayon artwork digitally scanned to preserve its integrity. Charcoal is such a fickle medium.

Set of 2 - "Figures" in 2 separate digital prints, 1 of each model, on 8.5"x11" inch archival paper. Mat and frame not included. If you prefer these two models printed on one sheet as shown in the full picture at right, I'd be happy to do that, as well. One signature will be deleted as well as the watermark. Emotion in form. "Community" is my newest original, acrylic painting. It's poignant, universal and thought-provoking in its graphic representation. These AVON sachets are in great shape though the scents aren't strong. They are, after all, older then, well, maybe even me! At 4"x2" size, these sachet paper holders are cool beans. The reverse side includes a spot for Avon Consultants to leave his/her name. These are not ruined with any consultant's handwriting however. Perfect for altered art, etc. Unsure of the scent included in the three sold here as one group. YEsireEE, Bob, you get all three! If you collect ephemera, this is great stuff even if your name ISN'T Bob.

What do you see? Though patterned after "Mr. Musky", this painting resembles a few kinds of fish. We'll leave the interpretation up to you.

As big fans of fishing, we've sacrificed many a musky lure to the musky gods. Haven't we all? One catch poses in this painting but don't worry. We believe in catch and release so he's on the prowl out there somewhere, working up a musky-sized appetite. The limited palette is quite appropriate considering their aquatic and natural environment.

Because this canvas is not gallery wrapped it may require a frame. Or not! Depends on your preference. Mat or frame not included.

Would you like to give a beautiful gift that speaks to the heart? Whether it's for a sweetie, a sister or book fanatic, it's a lovely book called "Silver Linings" that was published by The Acmegraph Company of Chicago in 1912. Some are sold without the ribbon as well but this ribbon is in great condition.

The duller cover image is the box cover. It's rare to come with the box. This box is a little beat up and in two pieces. I actually have the little piece that appears to be missing.

A cardstock cover, 64 pp book in very good condition: Dimensions: 5¾" x 6¾". It's in nice condition... waiting to woo your lover or give to your best friend.

Thank you, Mr. Sedaris for your magnanimous generosity. Artists, take heart. There ARE nice yet famous people out there. David Sedaris has graciously responded and given me permission to use his awesome face. A true gentleman. His writings are superior, his commercial successes to be envied! Have you read his book, "Me Talk Pretty"? If you have, you know what I mean. This centuries' own "Mark Twain meets..." well, you fill in keyboard blanks. He's in a writer's sphere all his own.

The eye has it!

Did he make this expression while reading over a long lost will or when he took the phone call about receiving a Nobel Peace Prize - (just in time to buy a cottage on the lake of choice just to salvage his last shred of sanity)? Was it just before he "dropped a bomb"? ...maybe, and this is my personal fav, after imagining that the mountains of newspapers (lining his narrow hallway) mockingly scream out, "For the love of God, please call HGTV for a cleanup, Moron!" Yikers. Add your own story and let me know what you think is going on behind that eyeball of his... or invite others for their take on this character. Be an original yourself by starting a guest journal that accompanies the painting to see who has the most outrageous imagination. I'm curious chrome-yellow. The sweetest little oddball painting especially if framed. No one else can have this puppy! Just be sure to give him a nice home and he'll be forever grateful - or not. Depends on your story about him. ;)

Dollies!!! Mama's Grandma, born appx. 1901, had these dollies and oh, aren't they sweet? One even had a string still attached where it apparently was hung from a Christmas Tree. How quaint is that? I actually have a quartet of these sweeties. Their innocence is soooo charming and I love their faithful but casual poses on my shelf. So, in tribute of their loving companionship, I've offered up a nod just to them. Enjoy!

He imagines the world needs him and in the land of watercolors and sketches, they really, really do. Poised to strike and eager to please, he wonders what his assignment is. No matter. I'm a sucker for dogwood trees, even without blooms and was glad for the warm October day when I photographed this scene. Everyone should have a cheerleading squad of at least one. "Anybody's Girl" seems to portray a female champion that helps clear a confident path in life.

You know who I mean, someone who stands ever ready to provide a shoulder to cry on. Someone who provides unfailing devotion for each of us. In my case, it's the sister. I don't see her everyday - I don't talk to her nearly as often as I'd like... But, when I do grab a phone it's usually to hear HER voice. Even when she sounded like Mickey Mouse for awhile. (she good naturedly laughed WITH me then, voice rising higher and higher with each syllable. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, hilarity unmatched before or since. Not just a genetic sister but a hero to emulate.

When it seems the world is against me, I remember my makeup artist, my costumer, my advisor and role model, Krissie. Get the tissue, sista, "we are fam-mil-eeee!"

Another of my "continuous" line drawings that's altered after scanning with Adobe Photoshop's airbrush in pastel colors. And it's laminated to make the colors poP-P!

This print rendition of my original line art is called "Regal Rooster". He's one of those fancy breeds but I can't remember what they're called. He's in need of a good home. If you like roosters, this is not like any others. He's a trendsetting adoptee wannabee guaranteed NOT to wake you up! I find this to be appropriate in a modern art setting or country. He's an equal opportunity boy.

PRIVATE LIVES, Noel Coward's Character - Line Drawing, Smoking - Black and White

Based on a photo of my husband acting the part of Noel Coward's role in Noel Coward's play, "Private Lives". The play was staged in the prestigious Actor's Theatre of Louisville. He's a dashing guy in a tuxedo with his cigarette on set.
It really does capture the mood. It's amazingly compatible with art deco, minimalist or victorian setting. It's pure line done with Rapidograph pen and scanned digitally. This one is 5x7 inches for matting. Absolutely striking when mounted in black frames with thick mat border in white. Crisp and striking.

Petite Papillon. Signed AND butterflies? Nice. I haven't been able to pin down the exact name given or comparable pricing but this delicate little necklace is so sweet. I like multiple wrapping for a bracelet too. Pretty sure the pearl accents aren't real. Sorry about the soft focus pics. They aren't meant to hide flaws. It's in really great shape. Just wanted to give an idea of the length.

"Meet Signature Guy"! He and I are revisiting the wonderful medium of acrylics. Haven't done anything acrylic in a long time and especially ATCs, so today I have an installment of 4. This first one is my signature scribble or doodle guy. You know...the face you find yourself repeatedly doing? Graphic and bold, he comes at you with some spunk. Take good care of him. He's a sweetie.

Innocent faces in a crowd. If you look hard, you'll see faces, spun around, staring at you in this sphere. "Hi there", they say! Allium Central for Suzi. Textured background sets the scene for this mini portrait of an allium... graphic license taken. Purple, soft purple.

Baseball Jones is a nod to the great American pastime. It recalls summer days for big and small fans alike. Just for boy's? Heck no. In my family, baseball is what summer is all about. These sort of warm images go anywhere. Cheers to the boys and girls of summer.

This is an digital print of my acrylic fine art painting done on stretched canvas. I've emphasized the texture of the canvas so your print will look so authentic, just like the fine art original painting. Sorry, the 1st one is now part of the Mathers Collection. Don't worry. The resolution will be much better than this image.

Voluptuous Pear, Fiddlehead Fern, Regal Rooster, 3 Crows, Amy's Cow, Ginkgo Leaf (some say Gingko, some say Ginkgo) who cares? They're fab.

Fine art. Mine art. Set of "nature" cards as shown. These #6 invitation cards (4.25 x 5.5) include 1 of each with envelope. All are based on my original artworks and digitally printed to create a set as shown. Some are sketches from my "doodle a day" effort which were then altered in Adobe Photoshop. Usually I create black and white line art and then wield the "brush". The 3 Crows and Amy's Cow are based on two of my original acrylic paintings. It's a great set because it has something for everyone that loves nature whether it's plants or animals. I have more coming so be sure to check back often.

Cartoony Clifford makes a stand. Backed up against the wall but shrewdly stoic, he's sure to entertain in his own sly way. Don't tell anyone his nickname, he's been dodging it since Ma last tweeked his cheeks. In between the bread route and his corner bar, he's a soul worth saving. After all, he saved Aunt Mildred's dog just last week! And she sure appreciates those free loaves of bread. Wink, wink.

Clifford is a Gallerie Suze original cartoon character, a parody in caricatured vein. My illustration of a Chicago south-sider lampoons a middle aged's pessimism gone undetected and unquestioned. Introducing sassy and bright, "Patterned After... " brings to mind a batik pattern or ethnic fabric print.
