25 Smoky quartz handmade with bag and instructions from UK

$38.00
This is a gorgeous set of smoky quartz runes. The runes are engraved onto the stones and then painted with gold, making them much harder wearing than runes that are just painted on.

The runes are of the elder futhark system, and include 24 runes and one blank - some people use it as a spare, others as a 'wyrd' rune - whatever works for you!

They come with a handmade cloth bag - the colour may vary from the picture, it depends what I have to hand, and I recycle the cloth rather than buying new.

There is also a little instruction booklet(not pictured - see my other listings, giving you the basics to get you started and a list of recommended further reading.

I've been making and selling runes for years (and using them myself) and am able to make runes in a wide variety of woods and gemstones (birch, alder, rowan, willow, ash, hawthorn, oak, hazel, blackthorn, ivy, yew, linden/lime, beech and rose) so please contact me if you would like runes of another material and I can list them for you!

20 Celtic ogham sticks with Pouch and Booklet

$20.00
These are beautiful handmade ogham staves. Each ogham stave is made from the wood of the tree that it represents - so birch for birch, rowan on rowan etc. Most people don't bother with this, and make oghams all from one wood, so my sets are much more special!

The staves are on average two inches long and I've left the bark on these - it's actually harder to make sets like this since I have to try and find the right wood with the bark firmly attached and not chewed by animals.

It took me about a year to put these sets together (collecting all the wood is not easy!), and I'm lucky since my in-laws have a plantation that provided most of the of the wood.

The starves were sanded (by hand) and then pyrographed (burnt) with the appropriate ogham symbol, making them much harder wearing than oghams that are just painted.

The ogham is a celtic alphabet/divination system, based on 20 native British trees. It is used in much the same way as runes, though less commonly used than runes.

The booklet has been put together by us and gives a basic guide to using the ogham and keywords for the meaning of each stave to help get you started.

All wood I use for my crafts is gathered or collected from other's prunings, I don't harvest any wood. Wood largely comes from my parents-in-law's property in kent, where they manage 43 acres of woodland organically.

I'm open to requests.

I'm not treating these with anything - so they might not be too happy with frequent washing - but they're perfect for cuffs, bags, pouches, cloaks and anything like that!

There's one larger button in this set - a little under an inch wide, and 4 tiny buttons that are about half an inch wide.

The wand and athame are about an inch long, the chalice a little smaller....a penny is shown in the picture for scale. I've included a little shell to represent the goddess, and a piece of antler for the god, and a square of felt as an altar cloth. All packed up in a little box.

How Cute! and perfect for a gift, for traveling with or for setting up an altar where space is limited.

You may not receive the exact set in the picture - but it will be very similar

20 handmade celtic OGHAM STAVES for divination with pouch and booklet, handmade in the UK

$20.00
These are beautiful handmade ogham staves. Each ogham stave is made from the wood of the tree that it represents - so birch for birch, rowan on rowan etc. Most people don't bother with this, and make oghams all from one wood, so my sets are much more special!

It took me about a year to put these sets together (collecting all the wood is not easy!), and I'm lucky since my parents have a vine, and my in-laws have a plantation that provided most of the rest of the wood.

It was made from a piece of beech from a huge old tree that sadly fell down about 18 months ago

it has a pattern of spirals pyrographed into the wood and is tipped with a glorious pietersite stone bound on with vintage thread, chosen to pick up the bluey colours in the stone.

It will come with it's own bag and a consecration spell.

The Beech tree is the climax tree of british woodland, the trees grow to great size and host huge communities of insects and other animal life.

All wood I use for my crafts is gathered or collected from other's prunings, I don't harvest any wood. The bushes to which this wood belonged was blown down earlier in the year and chopped up - so I rescued what I could from the bonfire pile. They are sanded smooth and the rune symbols are burnt onto the wood, rather than painted on, so this set will last for a very long time! They come with their own handmade pouch (colour may vary form the one pictured) and our booklet - the beginner's guide to the runes.
The runes are of the Elder Futhark system and as such include 25 runes - 24 runes and a blank that may be used as 'odin's rune' or as a spare in case of loss.

Hawthorn

Hawthorn is a hard wood with many sharp thorns for protection, and thus is associated with strong boundaries and personal protection. It is strongly associated in folklore with the fey, it is thought that if you fall asleep under a hawthorn tree you will wake up in fairyland. Use runes of hawthorn if you want to develop a connection with the fey.

Associated with everlasting life, rebirth and transformation, it is used magically for seeking visions, travelling between worlds and exploring the mysteries of life and death.

The wood for this piece came from dead wood from a hedge at my parents place - given the age of the house and that the hedge was on the original plans this piece is from a tree over 100 years old!

I am happy to put different designs on similar for you - labyrinths, pentacles, fairy stars, spirals, runes, ogham are all possible

It measures about 1.5 inches in diameter. This is a great addition to any altar or to carry round with you.

The water-loving, pliant Willow (Saille) is often connected with the feminine nature and thus the lunar cycles. In keeping with this, in the Ogham alphabet it represents intuition, dreams, emotion and enchantment.

The wood for this piece came from a branch that broke off a tree in a storm at my parents place - I rescued it and am making lovely altar pieces out of it!

I am happy to put different designs on similar for you - labyrinths, pentacles, fairy stars, spirals, runes, ogham are all possible

Each string of jet beads I buy I test a couple of random ones just to check it's the real deal!

Amber is fossilized tree resin, that is millions of years old! magically it represents the sun, masculine energies. Jet is fossilized wood, that has been compressed, often in seams under the sea. Magically Jet represents the moon and feminine energies. Strung together these two gems represent harmony and balance. Amber and Jet together are traditionally given as initiation gifts, and is worn by the high priestess in more traditional wiccan covens.

I try and keep my prices affordable....so much amber and jet is over-priced and unaffordable, when Jet isn't actually bank-breaking unless you want vintage whitby jet!

25 Hazel elder futhark runes for divination with pouch and instructions

The tree to which this wood belonged was blown down earlier in the year and chopped up - so I rescued what I could from the bonfire pile. They are sanded smooth and the rune symbols are burnt onto the wood, rather than painted on, so this set will last for a very long time! They come with their own handmade pouch (colour may vary form the one pictured) and our booklet - the beginner's guide to the runes. Please note you may not recieve the exact set pictured - i make many sets and take a representative photo!

The runes are of the Elder Futhark system and as such include 25 runes - 24 runes and a blank that may be used as 'odin's rune' or as a spare in case of loss.

The hazel :-

The nut-bearing Hazel or cob tree is associated in Celtic mythology with wisdom. Known in Ireland as "the food of the gods", the hazel is used in folk magic, particularly in connection with water and dowsing. Within the celtic ogham alphabet it is connected with wisdom, knowledge and enlightenment.

The pentacle measures about an inch in diameter, and comes with a black waxed cotton cord.

it is about an inch in diameter - the size will vary a little.

Ivy, Gort, is a one of the trees of the celtic (ogham) alphabet; however, it is not actually a tree but a climbing vine. Contrary to popular belief it is not a parasite, merely using other trees for support. Ivy, left to itself, will grow hugely thick woody stems that are surprisingly hard, and lovely to work with, although this does not appear to be commonly known. Ivy is associated with our search for self and enlightenment. It is a powerful plant that teaches us to hold onto our ideals against the odds.
A beautiful fine-grained wood, the Holly is associated with dream magic, protection and transformation. Each wand is unique and a one off. I generally work from commissions and am happy to talk about this. Woods include birch, rowan, alder, willow, ash, hawthorn, oak, hazel, holly, pine, vine, gorse, ivy, elder, aspen, yew, beech and linden(lime)

Silver Birch Moon wand with tourmaline for new beginning

$25.00
This is a lovely wand, made from a piece of Silver Birch that I found on a walk. It had been fallen long enough to have dried out and seasoned, and to have become lovely and smooth.

It was sanded (just a little) and 2 goddess and the moon phases pyrographed on to it. It is tipped with a piece of green tourmaline so dark that it appears black and which is bound onto the wand with linen thread.

The wand comes with it's own bag (the colour may vary from the one shown in the picture. and a consecration spell for you to use.

Silver Birch is associated with new beginnings. it is the first tree of the celtic ogham alphabet and is also the first tree to recolonise cleared woodland and the first tree to come into leaf in the spring. It has long been associated with the Goddess and with magic.

I've been making wands and other magical items for many years, and sell them to assorted shops round the Uk and on ebay. Each wand is unique and a one off. I generally work from commissions and am happy to talk about this. I have many woods available - either prunings or storm damage, I don't deliberately cut wood for my products. Woods include birch, rowan, alder, willow, ash, hawthorn, oak, hazel, holly, pine, vine, gorse, ivy, elder, aspen, yew, beech and linden(lime)
