Glow In the Dark Zombie Bunny Stars-Quilted Postcard/Mini-Quilt-OOAK

This 5 inch by 7 inch unique art quilt piece really does glow in the dark. I quilted it using a specialty thread which when exposed to strong light will glow in the dark. It is truly a one of a kind piece. I will make no others exactly like this one.

There are 8 cute little Zombie Bunnies floating around in front of a background of black cotton printed with white stars. The Bunnies are white sequin type cutouts which have been embellished with red seed beads for their zombie eyes. Each zombie bunny is about ¾ inch tall.

The background star cotton was painted with a light wash of pearl and pewter Lumiere textile paints giving it a slight shimmer. It is machine quilted in a meandering free motion straight stitch pattern using a straight stitch and the glow in the dark specialty thread. The thread packaging states, “do not bleach, dry clean or put in dryer.”

The reverse is cream muslin and is blank so that there is plenty of white space for you to add your own personal message using fabric markers or pens.

The piece is bound with red thread in a satin stitch which accents the bunnies’ beady red eyes.

Between the two layers of fabric is stiff interfacing. This gives the piece stiffness which adds to its versatility. It could be displayed on an easel or easily hung on a wall. You could even mount it in a black shadowbox type frame for a wonderful presentation.

This art piece is initialed on the back. If mailing this piece, I would suggest placing it in an envelope due to the glass beads and Zombie Bunny embellishments. I’m afraid a postal machine would eat these bunnies for lunch!

I prefer to give mine wrapped as gift itself...a unique mini art quilt, suitable for framing or hanging as is. Enjoy!

This is a one of a kind 5 inch by 7 inch quilted fabric/fiber art postcard. It is titled “River of Love”. There is a fabric “river” of multi-colored polka dots on a white background going diagonally across the piece. Clear and pink metallic heart confetti is trapped behind white netting on the river. This allows the hearts to move or “float” down the river as the card is moved. The “shore” consists of fuchsia and chartreuse cottons which have been raw edge machine appliquéd with bright pink thread in a zigzag stitch. The pink edges are accented with bright green plastic beads which have the look of glass beads. The front is binded in bright pink thread with a satin stitch. The back is a solid bright pink material with a binding of bright green thread. This piece is ready for you to inscribe your personal message with fabric markers or pens. It is signed and labeled “River of Love”. This piece could be mailed with or without an envelope. I prefer to give mine wrapped as gift itself...a mini work of art, suitable for framing or hanging as is. This would be great tucked in a basket for EASTER or sent as a celebration of SPRING. Bat Trio at Dusk-Quilted Art Piece/Postcard/Mini-Quilt-OOAK

Bat Trio at Dusk is a 5 inch by 7 inch quilted art piece featuring 3 bats in flight as the sun sets. This is an original creation designed and created by me. I will make no others exactly like this. It is truly a one of a kind mini piece of art.

I hand dyed a piece of muslin using textile paints for the background and then free motioned stitched 3 bats using black thread. The bats are each approximately three inches across and 1 inch high. I quilted down black fibers to give their bodies a fuzzy look just like the real nighttime creatures.

For the sunset, I machine quilted down yellow fibers using a variety of variegated cotton threads with a free motion stitch. I used thread in hues of yellows, oranges and reds to give dusk impression. The colors change from yellows to reds across the piece.

The reverse is cream muslin and is blank so that there is plenty of white space for you to add your own personal message using fabric markers or pens. I often give these to friends as gifts to commemorate special occasions with my personal message written on the back. This art piece is titled and initialed on the back.

The piece is bound with black cotton thread which accents the cute little batty bats.

Between the two layers of fabric is stiff interfacing. This gives the piece stiffness which adds to its versatility. It could be displayed on an easel or easily hung on a wall. You could even mount it in a black shadowbox type frame for a wonderful presentation.

If mailing this piece as a postcard you will need to use a regular first class stamp as the size is larger than a standard postcard. Simply use fabric pens to address the back, write your message, attach a stamp and send it off in the mail to a friend.

El Ojo-Mini Art Quilt Collectible-ATC/ACEO-OOAK

El Ojo is an original one of a kind art piece. I will make no more exactly like this one. This is a great opportunity to collect affordable original handcrafted art!

This piece has dimensions that are slightly different from traditional ATCs and it comes ready to hang with a metal chain. The chain can be tucked behind the piece so you could even mount it in a black shadowbox type frame for a wonderful presentation.

It measures 3 ¼ inches high and has a variable width between 2 ¾ inches and 2 ¼ inches. Due to the hand stitched nature of the piece the dimensions are slightly different than a traditional ATC/ACEO. ATC (artist trading cards) and ACEO (art cards, editions and originals) are meant to be collected and traded and usually measure 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches.

I hand quilted this entire piece in shades of purple using embroidery floss. Between the 2 cotton layers is a layer of batting and the piece is backed with a suede-like purple material giving it stiffness. I stitched a spiral design and highlighted it using a black dye stick. I attached an embossed metal circle to the center of the spiral design.

I’ve attached my label onto the back and I have also titled and initialed the back. I put drafter's tape over my personal info for the picture (for privacy reasons) but you will get the card without the tape. :)

This would be a great addition to any collection or a wonderful gift for a friend.

Amethyst Dream-Sparkle-Journal/Diary/Notebook-OOAK

The cover of this journal is a machine quilted art quilt piece from my Amethyst Dream series. It measures about 4 ½ inches across by a little more than 7 inches high. This is a one of a kind piece. I will make no more pieces exactly like this one!

I titled this piece “Sparkle” since lots of sparkly fibers were used in creating the cover. I machine quilted two strips of lavender and sliver metallic star cotton onto a black felt base using variegated purple thread and a free motion stitch. Across the center of the piece is 3 ½ inch wide strip of a unique purple woven fabric I created by weaving strips of different textures of fabrics and ribbons together in a variety of purple hues. I layered a shimmery sheer fabric across the woven strip and stitched it together with purple thread creating a new piece of original fabric. I used satins, metallics and cottons as well as a variety of ribbons in creating the woven fabric. This unique fabric is quilted down with a decorative embroidery stitch using purple variegated thread. Finally for extra sparkle I used a specialty Razzle Dazzle thread stitched in parallel lines across the woven center. I love the sparkle and textural quality of this journal. The pictures really don’t do it justice. It looks really sparkly in person and has great textural depth due to the layering and quilting.

The cover is removable so if you wanted to cover another journal when you have filled up this one, you would be able to do so. Also if you wanted to flip it around and have the back as the front, you could do that too. It would work either way.

The piece is backed with black felt. I bound the raw edges with a zigzag stitch using black thread. I have attached a label on the inside of the quilted cover.

Included is the journal that it currently covers. It is a red store purchased journal that measures 4 ½ “x 6 ¾” X 5/8”. The journal has a sliver/grey ribbon bookmark attached and has 120 lined pages with a place for you to write the date at the top of each page.

This would make a wonderful gift for a friend or a super sweet treat for you! Enjoy!

Amethyst Dream-Cycle and Spin Quilted Fabric/Fiber Art Quilt-OOAK

Amethyst Dream-Cycle+Spin is a mini-art quilt/fabric postcard featuring a spiral and a beaded starbrust on a hand dyed and painted cloth background with a complex cloth accent in one corner. It is from my Amethyst Dream series and is a one of a kind piece. I will make no more exactly like this one.

This rectangular piece measures 6 inches across by 4 inches high.

The spiral was cut from a piece of handmade fabric paper. This is an art quilting technique using fabric and a variety of paper materials which are bonded together in a special process creating a fabric paper. I chose shades of purples, grays and silver when making the fabric paper. I added designs with silver ink in a spiral style on the paper as well. I appliquéd it in place using a straight stitch and purple variegated thread.

The starburst style beaded accent was hand sewn using twisted iridescent purple Czech glass bugle style beads with a flat center glass bead secured with a seed bead in the same hues.

The background cloth is dyed in purple hues and hand painted on the reverse for a muted yet interesting unique piece of cloth. I love hand dyeing and painting my own fabrics!

The complex cloth in the corner of this piece is a unique purple woven fabric I created by weaving strips of textured fabrics and ribbons together in a variety of purple hues. I stitched the weaving together with variegated purple thread creating a new piece of original fabric. I used satins, metallics, velvets and cottons as well as a variety of ribbons and yarns in creating the woven fabric. It is machine blanket stitched into place.

The piece is bound with variegated thread using a blanket stitch. This can easily be mounted in a shadow box type frame for a beautiful gift of original hand crafted art. It can also stand easily on an easel.

The back of the piece is made using a dotted purple print. There is plenty of room on the back for you to write a personal message to the recipient using a fabric marker or pen. I’ve done this with other pieces for birthdays, baby showers and anniversaries.

While this is postcard sized and quilted onto very stiff interfacing, I would suggest placing it in an envelope for mailing as the beads are glass and might get ruined if just tossed in the mailbox.

The back is titled “Amethyst Dream-Cycle+Spin” and is initialed at the bottom. I titled it Cycle+Spin because this piece reminds me of the cycles of life and the movement of spinning. It might also subliminally have to do with the fact that I share my studio space with my washer and dryer! Hee!

I love to give art quilts as gifts with a small note written on the back. Original artwork with your own personal touch!

Amethyst Dream-Starburst Quilted Fabric/Fiber Art Quilt-OOAK

Amethyst Dream-Starburst is a mini-art quilt featuring a spiral and a metal beaded starburst on a complex cloth background. It is from my Amethyst Dream series and is a one of a kind piece. I will make no more exactly like this one.

This piece measures 6 inches square. The fibers hang down from the bottom edge of the piece an additional 1 to 5 inches. I really like the interest and movement that this gives the piece.

The spiral was cut from a piece of handmade fabric paper. This is an art quilting technique using fabric and a variety of paper materials which are bonded together in a special process creating a fabric paper. I chose shades of purples, grays and silver when making the fabric paper. I added designs with silver ink in a spiral style on the paper as well. I appliquéd it in place using a straight stitch and purple variegated thread.

The starburst style beaded accent in the bottom left corner was hand sewn using a variety of silver metal beads. The long metal beads have a slight curve to them which give the feel that the starburst is coming forward which is a neat effect.

The complex cloth in the background of this piece is a unique purple woven fabric I created by weaving strips of textured fabrics and ribbons together in a variety of purple hues. I stitched the weaving together with variegated purple thread creating a new piece of original fabric. I used satins, metallics, velvets and cottons as well as a variety of ribbons and yarns in creating the woven fabric.

The piece is bound with variegated thread using a blanket stitch. This can easily be mounted in a shadow box type frame for a beautiful gift of original hand crafted art. It can also hang as is and I would be happy to attach a small plastic ring to the back as a courtesy to you. Just convo me in the note to seller section at checkout.

The back of the piece is made using a dotted purple print. There is plenty of room on the back for you to write a personal message to the recipient using a fabric marker or pen. I’ve done this with other pieces for birthdays, baby showers and anniversaries. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate life’s special occasions.

Love Birds - Purple and Green Owl Fiber Fabric Art- Art Quilt-Wall Hanging-OOAK

Love Birds is a one of a kind original art quilted piece. I will make no others exactly like this one. I think it is sweet the way one owl looks like he’s sliding up next to the other and trying to act all cool about it! It’s like he’s thinking, “Hoo-hoo, don’t mind me over here snuggling up against you!” Such cute owls in love!

It is inspired by a picture of a pair of owl statues that we have in a part of our garden we call "The Owl Nook". I have all kinds of little owl statues tucked away amongst the oaks in that corner of our yard.

This art piece measures a little over 8 inches square. The mixed fiber fringe at the bottom adds another 1 to 5 inches to the length. The fiber hanger adds another additional 5 inches to the length. If you did not want to hang it as is from the fiber hanger, it could easily be cut off or tucked behind the piece. This piece would really look stunning mounted in a shadow box type frame.

It features a variety of art quilting techniques such as appliqué, reverse appliqué, free motion quilting, hand beading, and needle felting. This was a very labor intensive piece and I really enjoyed creating it.
The two owls are about 3 inches tall and each are made from a variety of green and emerald shades of textiles and specialty fabrics such as satins, velvets and netting. I used free motion stitching with variegated and metallic threads to add details to the owls.

The purple background is made from layers of fibers and fabrics from my Amethyst Dream collection.

The bottommost layer is an original woven complex cloth I created and stitched.

The sky area features a layer of sheer organza with velvet accents in a spiral design. These layers were free motion quilted in a swirl and star design using purple variegated thread. I then hand beaded a variety of glass and plastic seed beads in shades of green to accent the night sky. There are over 60 beads on the piece some of which were up-cycled from a bracelet that I could not bear to toss out. I was so excited that they were the perfect color for this piece.

The ground area features layers of metallic purple tulle which I free motion stitched in a stone or rock pattern using silver metallic and gray threads.

The fringe is a formed from a variety of purple and green threads, yarns, material, fibers and fabrics.

The edges are needle felted with two types of yarn. One is a fuzzy fiber in lighter green and the other is a yarn that’s twisted with several shades of green. This fiber makes the hanger for the piece as well.

The back of the piece is a green leaf and geometric cotton print. I have attached my label and I have titled and initialed the piece.

I hope you enjoy these two love birds as much as I have enjoyed creating them!

This design features the word JOY. I cut the letters from a dark gold spiral metallic print fabric and then machine appliquéd the words onto the pieces using gold metallic thread. The background features a multi-colored holiday print fabric with gold metallic accents. It is machine quilted using the same gold metallic thread and a meandering stipple stitch. Then I finished the edges with gold metallic and multi-colored cotton thread in a satin stitch.

The bookmark measures approximately 6 inches tall by 2 inches across. It is sandwiched with heavy interfacing so it is stiff like a bookmark. The back is of natural cream muslin ready for you to personalize with a greeting or a simple TO: / FROM: label using fabric markers. I purposefully did not write to and from on the back so that you have the option of writing a personal note. I did initial the bookmark in a small place on the back near the bottom. This piece is pretty flat so it could easily be mailed in an envelope or tucked inside a card for a surprise gift.

The coffee sleeve measures a little over 2 inches tall and at its peak is almost 3 inches tall. It is a little over 9 inches in circumference. It is patterned after the dull boring cardboard coffee cuffs/sleeves used in a major chain of coffee stores that started in Seattle and is now covering street corners of America and the world (hint: starts with an “S”). The beauty of this one is that it is handmade from fabric and is therefore reusable and Earth-friendly. It is just the right size to keep it in your wallet, purse or briefcase. I quilted it onto stiff interfacing so it is stiff like the cardboard sleeves; but, it is NOT cardboard. The ends overlap and are hand stitched in place. I added a few dabs of craft glue under the flap as well for a little unseen extra security. I literally traced out a cardboard one from that before mentioned coffee retailer and then created one from fabric so I feel confident that it will fit a variety of cup sizes. The inside lining of the cuff is cream muslin. I have initialed the inside in an inconspicuous place. If a spill occurs it could be gently washed by hand in cold water with a mild soap and hung to dry. It is small enough to be included inside a Christmas card as a surprise.

Each measures approximately 4 inches tall by 2 1/4 inches across. I cut the letters from fabric and then machine appliquéd the words onto the tags using gold metallic thread. The background holiday print fabric is also machine quilted using gold metallic thread and a straight stitch.

The back is of natural cream muslin ready for you to personalize with a greeting or a simple TO: / FROM: label using fabric markers. I purposefully did not write to and from on the back so that you have the option of writing a personal note. I did initial each tag in a small place on the back of each tag near the top.

The tags have heavy interfacing sewn between the two fabric layers so they are stiff. The edges are finished with a satin stitch using gold metallic and white cotton thread. The ties are made of gold metallic ribbon and the ties are a length of about 5 inches long.

These would really add a handmade touch to a gift and after unwrapping the gifts they could be used by the recipient as ornaments on the tree. I have also seen these tied onto luggage after the holidays to help identify luggage at the airport so that it is unique making baggage claim easier. Scrapbookers could add these to a holiday page for an artistic touch with slight dimension. There are so many possibilities with this set of four tags. Enjoy!

Four quilted fabric Christmas tree gift tags are in this set. There are three different tree designs featured with one design repeating; however, due to the handmade nature of these tags, each are unique and one of a kind. I will make no more exactly like these.

This 5 inch by 7 inch unique art quilt piece features my cute little zombie bunnies twinkling in the nighttime sky .

It is truly a one of a kind piece. I will make no others exactly like this one.

There are 13 Zombie Bunnies in front of a background of black cotton printed with white stars. The Bunnies are white sequin type cutouts which have been embellished with red seed beads for their zombie eyes. Each zombie bunny is about ¾ inch tall. The background cotton was painted with pearl and pewter Lumiere textile paints giving it a slight shimmer.

The background fabric is machine quilted in red thread using a diamond grid pattern in a straight stitch that is a little thicker than most machine quilting stitches.

The reverse is cream muslin and is blank so that there is plenty of white space for you to add your own personal message using fabric markers or pens.

The piece is bound with red thread in a satin stitch which really accents the eyes of the bunnies.

Between the two layers of fabric is stiff interfacing. This gives the piece stiffness which adds to its versatility. It could be displayed on an easel or easily hung on a wall. You could even mount it in a black shadowbox type frame for a wonderful presentation.

This art piece is initialed on the back. If mailing this piece, I would suggest placing it in an envelope due to the glass beads and Zombie Bunny embellishments. I’m afraid a postal machine would eat these bunnies for lunch!

Pirate Skull Quilted Postcard/Mini-Art Quilt-OOAK

This is a 5 inch by 7 inch unique quilted art piece featuring a pirate ship at sea on a background of skulls and crossbones.

It is truly a one of a kind piece. I will make no others exactly like this one.

The focus of this piece is a pirate ship sailing at sea. I have painted the fabric in a wash of pearl Lumiere textile paint to give it a sparkle. This makes the waves look like they are glittering in the night sky.

The ship is machine appliquéd using red thread in a star/asterisk embroidery stitch using red thread. The background fabric is a large scale skull print in gray, white and black tones. I have painted this fabric with a lumiere pearl and pewter wash for a shimmer as well. On two of the skulls I have stitched red seed beads in their eyes to give them an intimidating look like any real pirate ship would have. Two of the corners have blue water and compass prints stitched down with the same red machine embroidery.

The piece is bound with red thread in a satin stitch this accents the two beady eyed skulls.

The reverse is cream muslin and is blank so that there is plenty of white space for you to add your own personal message using fabric markers or pens.

Between the two layers of fabric is stiff interfacing. This gives the piece stiffness which adds to its versatility. It could be displayed on an easel or easily hung on a wall. You could even mount it in a black shadowbox type frame for a wonderful presentation. This would make a wonderful accent in a child’s pirate themed room or playroom. Perhaps you have a recreation room or game room in your home with a pirate theme? This would go great with any pirate décor.

This ATC is from a series using the pink hand painted dotted fabric in the background. To create the original fabric, I used pearlescent textile paint and then free motion quilted in a circular pattern using black cotton thread. I then added 14 small silver bat embellishments and one black bat embellishment. The edges are bound in black thread using a blanket stitch and black yarn was also stitched around the edge.

I backed this piece with pink felt so that it is stiff like a trading card yet it is made from fabric and not paper. I love to take cards like this and frame them in shadowboxes. They look beautiful hung up and displayed.

I’ve attached my label onto the back. I have titled and initialed the back. I put drafter's tape over my personal info for the picture (for privacy reasons) but you will get the card without the tape. :)

Floral Flight is an original hand crafted one of a kind art piece. I will make no others exactly like this one. This one was inspired by our gardens full of native Texas plants and beautiful butterflies. The beauty of native plants is even when it’s bone dry and 100+ degrees; they still have flowers, attract butterflies and don’t need watering.

Two in Love-Mini Art Quilt Collectible OOAK

This original one of a kind piece measuring 7” square would be a lovely gift for someone dear to your heart. It can be hung on its own or it can be framed for a lovely presentation.

For this special textile artwork, I cut canvas to size, painted it with a variety of textile paints some of which are metallic giving it a nice shine. Afterward I wrote quotes about love across the canvas using a black marker and layered on a little more paint. I painted and dyed two hearts cut from a vintage quilt and machine blanket stitched the edges with black thread. Behind the hearts I layered a variety of torn materials such as satin, netting, painted dryer sheets, lace, lame and cottons. A layer of sparkly tulle is sewn across the hearts using a straight stitch. Then I began embellishing with a variety of buttons from my stash. There are a total of 7 buttons hand sewn to this piece. The back is synthetic suede-like material and the edges are machine blanket stitched. I have attached my label to the back and I have titled and initialed this piece.

While I will make no more pieces exactly like this one, I do have a companion piece listed which is different yet made from similar materials. The pair would be stunning mounted together!

If would like me to attach a small plastic ring to the back for hanging purposes, I would be happy to do that as a courtesy. Just convo me in the message to seller section upon check out.

Lucky Star is an original hand crafted one of a kind art piece. I will make no others exactly like this one. I have been listening to an popular 80’s song lately and when I finished this piece I knew it had to be my Lucky Star!

This ATC is from a series using the pink hand painted dotted fabric in the background. To create the original fabric, I used pearlescent textile paint and then free motion quilted in a circular pattern using black cotton thread.

I then hand beaded the piece with a circle of clear glass beads. For a finishing touch I stitched a silver toned star bead in the center of the clear bead circle. The edges are bound in black thread using a blanket stitch and a sliver tinsel-like elastic trim was sewn around the edge for a glittery finale. The edges curve a little due to the elastic in the edge trim.

I backed this piece with pink felt so that it is stiff like a trading card yet it is made from fabric and not paper. I love to take cards like this and frame them in shadowboxes. They look beautiful hung up and displayed.

Spiral Art Quilted Journal/Diary/Notebook-OOAK Pink Black Silver Polka Dots

This is an original art quilted journal featuring a polka dot and spiral design. This Art Quilted Journal is a unique one of a kind piece. I will make no others exactly like this one!

The cover of this journal is a machine quilted art quilt piece. The front and back each measure 4 ½” across by 7” high. I began by hand stenciling dots with Lumiere textile paint in a pearlescent tone onto bright pink cotton. I then free motion quilted the piece in a circular design using black cotton thread. As a final design element I machine needle felted black fibrous yarn in a large double spiral across the piece. The spiral wraps from front to back and makes each side have a different look.

The cover is removable so if you wanted to cover another journal when you have filled up this one, you would be able to do so. Also if you wanted to flip it around and have the back as the front, you could do that too. It would work either way.

The piece is backed with black felt. I bound the raw edges with a blanket stitch using black thread. I have attached my initialed label to the inside part of the cover.

Included is the journal that it currently covers. It is a pink store purchased journal that measures 4 ½ “x 6 ¾” X 5/8”. The journal has a silver ribbon bookmark attached and has 120 lined pages with a place for you to write the date at the top of each page.

This would make a wonderful gift for a friend or a super sweet treat for yourself! Enjoy!

La Calavera/The Skull-Quilted Postcard/Mini-Art Quilt-OOAK

This is a 4 inch by 6 inch mini-quilt in my Loteria series. Loteria is a Mexican game of chance similar to Bingo using images on a deck of cards. I came across this fabric with the card images and just had to turn them into little mini quilts. I really enjoy Mexican folk-type art and Mexican culture.

The card image depicts a skull and cross bones and measures about 2 inches by 3 inches. It is machine appliquéd in place with black thread and a satin stitch. I highlighted areas of the card with pearlescent Lumiere textile paint. I painted the background fabric with a wash of silver and pewter Lumiere textile paint to give it a star dust effect. The fabric print is one of small scale sliver stars that I machine quilted diagonally using silver metallic thread and a straight stitch. I hand beaded over 20 silver glass seed beads onto the stars of the background fabric.

Between the layers is stiff interfacing. You could easily attach a loop to the back and hang it directly on the wall. It is also suitable for framing. Since it is rigid, you could even display it on an easel type stand. It could really hang up all year round in an eclectic decor.

The edges are bound in a satin stitch using black thread.
The back of the piece is muslin. There is plenty of room on the back for you to add a personal message with fine tipped fabric pens or markers. The piece is titled and initialed on the back.

It would be best to use an envelope when mailing this piece because of the glass beads. If you wanted to take a chance, you could use it as a postcard and address the back adding a message and a stamp.

This would make a great surprise gift for someone on Halloween or, like my husband who like skulls and goth stuff, for all year long. It would work well for Day of the Dead/ Dia de los Muertos or All Saints’ Day celebrations as well. I think someone who likes pirates would really like this mini quilt as well. So many possibilities!!!

Skeleton Grim Reaper-La Muerte/The Death-Quilted Postcard/Mini-Art Quilt-OOAK

This skeleton grim reaper is a 4 inch by 6 inch mini-quilt in my Loteria series. Loteria is a Mexican game of chance similar to Bingo using images on a deck of cards. I came across this fabric with the card images and just had to turn them into little mini quilts. I really enjoy Mexican folk-type art and Mexican culture.

The card image measures about 2 inches by 3 inches and is machine appliquéd in place with black thread and a satin stitch. I highlighted areas of the card with gold Lumiere textile paints. I painted the background fabric with a wash of silver and pewter Lumiere textile paint to give it a star dust effect. The fabric print is one of small scale sliver stars that I machine quilted diagonally using silver metallic thread and a straight stitch. I hand beaded over 20 silver glass seed beads onto the stars of the background fabric.

Between the layers is stiff interfacing. You could easily attach a loop to the back and hang it directly on the wall. It is also suitable for framing. Since it is rigid, you could even display it on an easel type stand. It could really hang up all year round in an eclectic decor.

The edges are bound in a satin stitch using black thread.
The back of the piece is muslin. There is plenty of room on the back for you to add a personal message with fine tipped fabric pens or markers. The piece is titled and initialed on the back.

It would be best to use an envelope when mailing this piece because of the glass beads. If you wanted to take a chance, you could use it as a postcard and address the back adding a message and a stamp.

This would make a great surprise gift for someone on Halloween or, like my husband who like skulls and goth stuff, for all year long. It would work well for Day of the Dead/ Dia de los Muertos or All Saints’ Day celebrations as well.

I prefer to give mine wrapped as gift itself...a mini work of art, suitable for framing or hanging as is.

This ATC is from my Zombie Bunny series which was inspired by a day of creative art with my daughter years ago. The Bunnies are white sequin type cutouts which have been embellished by hand with red seed beads for their Zombie eyes. Each Zombie Bunny is about ¾ inch tall. There are three of them floating on the right side of the piece. I free-motion quilted wavy stitches under the bunnies using red thread. The background fabric is a cotton print featuring white circular dots on black. The fabric is washed in metallic paint to give it a faint sparkle. The left side features heavy circular machine quilting in red over black star fabric accented with a sprinkling of hand stitched red glass seed beads. There is straight stitching in sliver metallic thread between the sections. The edges are bound in black thread using a blanket stitch.

I quilted this piece with heavy interfacing between the layers so that it is stiff like a trading card yet it is made from fabric and not paper. I love to take cards like this and frame them in shadowboxes. They look beautiful hung up and displayed.

The piece has a black and white checkered cotton back onto which I’ve attached my label. I have titled and initialed the back. I put drafter's tape over my personal info for the picture (for privacy reasons) but you will get the card without the tape. :)

This would be a great addition to any collection or an unusual gift of original art for a friend.

Cutie Hootie -Pink Owl Fabric Fiber Art- Art Quilt-Wall Hanging-OOAK

Cutie Hootie is an original one of a kind art quilt. I will make no others exactly like this one.

It is inspired by a picture of an owl statue that we have in a part of our garden we call "The Owl Nook". I have all kinds of little owl statues tucked away amongst the oaks in that corner of our yard.

At night, when I'm lying awake unable to sleep for various reasons, I can hear the screech owls that live in our yard (these are real owls now, not the statues!). We have other owls that come through our yard on occasion; but, the little screechies have been around for years having fuzzy little owlets. It is truly magical to catch a glimpse of one. We have also had injured owls come to our yard and have been able to get them to a certified rehabilitator for recovery and release. Such special creatures!

This fabric owl is quilted from a wide variety of pink textiles and material so there is great texture to this piece. I used many types of satin, velvet, netting and cotton. In the background I used layers of black and white fabrics quilted together to make a nice unique piece of cloth. Free motion stitching holds all of the layers together and really gives this piece a personality. In the sky I free motion stitched stars and swirls using two colors of pink cotton thread and the ground is stitched with variegated cotton thread in shades of red and pink. I hand tinted some of the fabrics using pastel dye sticks especially made for fabric. To me the piece has a nice pink glow. The binding is needle felted with soft pink yarn.

It measures approximately 7“ horizontally and 10” vertically. The rectangular shape it not square so the measurements vary slightly across the piece. It is titled and initialed on the back.

This piece will present beautifully in a frame or it could hang directly on a wall. If you are hanging it on a wall and would like me to attach a small plastic ring to the back, just let me know in the message to seller at purchase and I’ll be happy to add that for you with no additional charge.

I first hand painted cotton using glittery specialty paints in red and blue tones. I layered blue sparkly netting over the fabric trapping metallic heart confetti scatters between the layers. I then free motion machine quilted around the heart and also stitched the word ”joy” using variegated thread.

I finished the edges by stitching a straight stitch with the same thread I used for the free motion quilting. The piece has a pink cotton back onto which I’ve attached my label. I have titled and initialed the back. I put drafter's tape over my personal info for the picture (for privacy reasons) but you will get the card without the tape. :)

This would be a great addition to any collection or a wonderful gift for a friend.

Jellyfish Fiber Art-Quilted and Hand Beaded-Art Quilt- OOAK

Do you love watching jellyfish float around through the glass of an aquarium? Maybe you are a diver and have seen one in its natural habitat? Perhaps you just love these majestic creatures? I have created this one of a kind piece with you in mind.

This quilted jellyfish has machine quilting and hand beading. It measures about 7 inches across at its widest and a little more than 4 inches tall at its tallest. The white and variegated thread tentacles hang from the bottom of the piece to about 18 inches. Both sides of the piece are unique. The fabrics I used are cottons in a variety of purples, blues and greens. I fused them to batting and then quilted them down. I painted the fabrics with a variety of metallic Lumiere textile paints and I also drew in some designs with a silver metallic pen. The machine quilting was done with variegated threads in purple, green and blue tones. I used both a zigzag stitch and a free motion straight stitch. The beading on this piece was so fun to do. I used a variety of glass beads in various shades of blue, green, purple, pearl, and silver. There are so many different styles of bead used in this piece…seed beads, bugle style beads, tear drop beads…I can’t describe them all! After I finished beading the front and back pieces, I sandwiched them together. Then the edges were bound using a satin stitch and purple variegated thread. I have attached a loop at the top of the jellyfish for hanging. I initialed the piece in an inconspicuous place.

You will want to have this hanging somewhere where it can turn around so that both sides can be seen. I really like the lightness and floaty feel of the tentacles, too.

Interesting Green Beaded Cross-Quilted Fabric Art Postcard/Mini-Quilt-OOAK

This is a 4 inch by 6 inch original one of a kind cross. I will not make another one exactly like this!

The cross is cut from bright pink mottled cotton. I machine appliquéd it in place using green toned variegated thread and a satin stitch. Hand sewn on top of the cross are a great variety of green glass beads. There are over 70 beads hand stitched onto the cross.

The lighter pink background fabric has multicolored polka dots printed on it. I machine quilted a wave pattern using a straight stitch with the same green variegated thread that I used for the edge of the cross.

The back of the piece is white cotton fabric with a light pink polka dot print. On the back you can add your own personal message using fabric markers or pens.

I often give these to friends and family as gifts with a personal message inscribed on the back. You could even add your favorite prayer to the back. It would be beautiful attached to the top of a larger gift as a tag or package decoration.

Between the two layers of quilt shop quality cotton fabric is stiff interfacing. This gives the piece stiffness which adds to its versatility. It could be displayed on an easel or easily hung on a wall without a frame. You could also mount it in a black shadowbox type frame for a wonderful presentation.

The edges of this piece are bound with the green thread in a satin stitch.

This cross is a great gift. It is a small reminder of faith and the fact that we are never alone. It could be presented at a baptism, first communion, confirmation, birthday, graduation or wedding.

Patriotic Heart Quilt-Fabric/Fiber Art Wall Hanging - OOAK

This one of a kind 10 inch x 8 inch rectangular piece would make a great gift for anyone who loves the USA. There is a blank heart on the back just waiting for you to write in a special message. I was inspired by the American flag and since I live near a military base, the sacrifice of military families has been on my mind lately. What a great surprise this would be for a wife of a deployed service person or veteran!

I created this piece by embellishing a red and white heart that was cut from an old quilt. The heart is worn though in several places which adds to its character. I painted over it with a very light wash of pearl Lumiere textile paint and then attached by hand a variety of red, white and blue buttons. The heart is attached by hand to the background fabric with red embroidery floss using a blanket stitch. The blue star background has also been washed over with pearl Lumiere paint to give it a slight sparkle. Using variegated blue thread, I quilted a wave design inspired by Old Glory. The backing of the quilt is an American Flag print. I fused on a heart cut from white star print fabric on the back. The white label heart is about 6 inches which leaves plenty of room for you to write a personal message with fabric pens or markers. The quilt has raw edges which are machine sewn with 3 rows of straight stitching in red thread. From each of the 4 corners the red and white threads are hanging free to a length between 7 and 11 inches. I really like the interest this gives to the piece. You could always snip the threads for a different look.

This art piece could be hung on the wall or it could be framed or placed in a shadow box type display. It is a great way to show your patriotism!

Patches is from my Sapphire Dream series, a collection of items in blue hues using a mix of textured fabrics and a variety of art quilting techniques. I started with my Amethyst Dream series in purple hues and I am now jumping around the color wheel trying out other colors that strike my fancy.

I quilted this piece with heavy interfacing between the layers so that it is stiff like a trading card yet it is made from fabric and not paper. It would really stand out when mounted in a black shadowbox type frame.

I first created a unique fabric by weaving a wide variety of cottons, satins, lames and fibers. I then machine quilted straight stitches using variegated blue thread. Onto a deep blue mottled cotton background I stitched down a rectangular patch of this woven fabric across the center of the card on the diagonal. Behind the patch, I layered and stitched 2 thin slivers from the created cloth patch. After which I hand applied a collection of 5 glass beads. One is flat and square, one is flat and circular and 3 are teeny, tiny cubes.

Finally, I bound the edges with the blue variegated thread using a blanket stitch. The piece has a small scale floral print back onto which I’ve attached my label. I have also titled and initialed the back. I put drafter's tape over my personal info for the picture (for privacy reasons) but you will get the card without the tape. :)

This is a stunning and unusual 4 inch by 6 inch unique one of a kind cross. I will not make another one exactly like this!

The cross is cut from black and white checked cotton. I machine appliquéd it in place using a silver metallic thread and a zigzag stitch. Hand sewn on top of the stitching are sliver glass seed beads. There are over 50 beads stitched onto the edge and they are spaced about 1 cm apart. This makes the edge of the cross shimmer.

The black background fabric has white stars printed on it and is machine quilted in a diamond grid pattern using a straight stitch and this super cool Sulky Holoshimmer specialty thread. The thread has a holographic sheen to it which really sparkles against the black background.

The back of the piece is white cotton fabric with a black star print. There is plenty of white space among the stars on the back for you to add your own personal message using fabric markers or pens. I often give these to friends and family as gifts with a personal message inscribed on the back. You could even add your favorite prayer to the back.

Between the two layers of quilt shop quality cotton fabric is stiff interfacing. This gives the piece stiffness which adds to its versatility. Zombie Bunnies in Space II is a 5 inch by 3.5 inch unique art quilt piece featuring my cute little zombie bunnies floating around on a pieced, quilted and needle felted background. It is truly a one of a kind piece. I will make no others exactly like this one.

There are 5 little Zombie Bunnies hopping through space. The bunnies are hand sewn over layers of netting, fibers and cotton fabrics. The Bunnies are white sequin type cutouts which have been embellished with red seed beads for their zombie eyes. Each zombie bunny is about ¾ inch tall. Four of the bunnies are on the circular needle felted designs and one is floating around on a wavy line of machine quilted red fiber.

The reverse is muslin and is blank so that there is room for you to add your own personal message using fabric markers or pens.

The piece is bound by machine with black thread in a blanket stitch.

Between the two layers of fabric is stiff interfacing. This gives the piece stiffness which adds to its versatility. It could be displayed on an easel or easily hung on a wall. You could even mount it in a black shadowbox type frame for a wonderful presentation.

This art piece is titled and initialed on the back. If mailing this piece, I would suggest placing it in an envelope due to the glass beads and Zombie Bunny embellishments. I’m afraid a postal machine would eat these bunnies for lunch!

This 6 inch square unique art quilt piece features my cute little zombie bunnies floating happily on a background of fuzzy red polka-dots.

It is truly a one of a kind piece. I will make no others exactly like this one. This is a great way to own affordable original art!

There are 9 little Zombie Bunnies on this piece. The Bunnies are white sequin type cutouts which have been embellished with red seed beads for their zombie eyes. Each zombie bunny is about ¾ inch tall. They are resting on large fuzzy red polka dots which I created by quilting down synthetic red fibers into the circular shape. There are 9 red polka dots ranging in size from 1 to 2 ½ inches across.

The background fabric is a small scale black dot print on a white background which I machine quilted in a free motion meandering style stitch pattern using a straight stitch and red thread. I used a satin stitch and black thread to bind the edges of the piece.

The back of the piece has a larger scale black dot print. There is plenty of white space around the dots for you to add your own personal message using fabric markers or pens.
Between the two layers of fabric is stiff interfacing. This gives the piece stiffness which adds to its versatility. It could be displayed on an easel or easily hung on a wall. You could even mount it in a black shadowbox type frame for a wonderful presentation.

This ATC is from my Zombie Bunny series which was inspired by a day of creative art with my daughter years ago. The Bunnies are white sequin type cutouts which have been embellished by hand with red seed beads for their Zombie eyes. Each Zombie Bunny is about ¾ inch tall. There are three of them floating on the piece.

I free-motion quilted straight stitches of silver metallic thread diagonally across the piece. I hand stitched sliver seed beads down the sliver stitching. I also meander stitched sliver thread across the background fabric. The background fabric is a cotton print featuring white circles and dots on black. The fabric is washed in metallic paint to give it a faint sparkle. The edges are bound in variegated black, grey and white thread using a blanket stitch.

I quilted this piece with heavy interfacing between the layers so that it is stiff like a trading card yet it is made from fabric and not paper. I love to take cards like this and frame them in shadowboxes. They look beautiful hung up and displayed.

The piece has a black and white checkered cotton back onto which I’ve attached my label. I have titled and initialed the back. I put drafter's tape over my personal info for the picture (for privacy reasons) but you will get the card without the tape. :)

This would be a great addition to any collection or a funny and unusual gift for a friend.

This One of a Kind mini quilt is from my Purple Pumpkin Polka (Dots) Series. This one is titled Star. It would be really cute hung on a door or in an entryway.

This 8 inch square piece was machine quilted in a free motion style using free form straight stitching in green tone variegated thread on the purple and white polka dotted background. Mixed into the background quilting are nine free motion stitched stars.

The pumpkin is raw edge appliquéd from 3 different quilt shop quality 100% cotton fabrics. The pumpkin is an orange/yellow dot print. The face is a mottled purple design and has quirky pie shaped eyes and nose with a cute toothy smile. The stem and vines are a purple multi dot print. The pumpkin is off-set to one side and measures 5 inches across.

The back is a bright multi-colored polka dot print.

The binding is a double layer of bright green star print fabric which was sewn on by machine and then finished by hand. I have attached 2 hanging tabs to the back of the piece. You have options in the way that it is hung. You may use a painted or decorative dowel to hang the piece with the tabs showing from the front or you may tack the tabs down in the back and not see the tabs or the dowel from the front at all. If you do not want the tabs to show from the front I would be happy to tack them down for you. Just let me know with a message at payment.

I signed and initialed the piece with a fabric pen on the back at the very bottom.

Seeing Spots Quilted Art Journal/Diary/Notebook-OOAK

The cover of this journal is a machine quilted art quilt piece. The closed covered journal measures 6 inches across by almost 8 inches high. I quilted four different black and white dotted fabrics together using black thread with satin and zigzag stitches.

I couched down black and white yarn in areas where the patterns meet to add texture and visual interest. I also couched down the same yarn in three rows going across the length of the piece. In one larger section, I free motion machine quilted down black yarn into five polka dots. They are soft and fuzzy to the touch. There is also decorative machine embroidery stitched polka dots in black thread along the edges of the piece.

I have the fuzzy polka dots positioned on the front of the journal in the picture; but, the cover is removable so if you wanted to flip it around and have the back as the front, you could do that too. It would work either way. Also if you wanted to cover another journal when you have filled up this one, you would be able to do so.

The piece is backed with black felt. I bound the raw edges with a zigzag stitch using black thread. Inside the cover I have attached my label.

Included is the journal that it currently covers. It is a spiral bound commercial journal that measures 5 1/4“x 7” X 1/2”. The commercial journal has lined pages. The back and front are of a stiff thick paperboard type material.

This would make a wonderful gift for a friend or a super sweet treat for you! Enjoy!

I’ve just been in the mood to celebrate lately! Maybe it’s the spring weather or all of the wonderful outdoor festivals this time of year. I think this art piece is full of life, energy and the spirit of a great celebration.

Fiesta! is a 4” by 6” mini art quilt featuring a multi-colored palette of purples, pinks, blues, yellows and greens. The focal point is a wire which I wrapped in a chenille and eyelash type fiber. I shaped it into a spiral form and then hand beaded it with faceted round pink, orange and green synthetic beads. There are over 30 beads nestled into the spiral fibers of this design.

It is quilted onto the background purple confetti print cotton. The edges are bound in a pink blanket stitch. The piece is backed with stiff interfacing and bright pink mottled cotton. This piece is titled and signed on the back.

There is room on the back for you to add a personal message with fabric pens or markers. Since it is stiff like a postcard, this piece could be mailed alone like a postcard; however, to be safe you might want to throw it in a padded envelope. I prefer to give mine wrapped as gift itself...a mini work of art, suitable for framing, placing on a display easel or hanging as is. Enjoy!

The background is woven from several green cotton prints and free motion quilted in a spiral design with green variegated thread. It is layered with a sheer star material that has a raised gold metallic star and dot pattern. Between the layers over one section I applied fluffy green fibers using variegated green thread. This gives the stars a floaty feel. I then quilted straight stitches around the sections and edges of the piece. On one side I quilted with machine embroidery stitches. To me, this make the piece look like a little closed book.

I quilted this piece with heavy interfacing between the layers so that it is stiff like a trading card yet it is made from fabric and not paper. The piece is backed with green cotton. I’ve attached my label onto the back and I have titled and initialed the back. I put drafter's tape over my personal info for the picture (for privacy reasons) but you will get the card without the tape. :)

This would be a great addition to any collection or a wonderful gift for a friend.
