Oui, she is my take on Marie. I have enjoyed the illusion of her for a very long time.

The is a papier mache piece and one of three in a series. I call them pocket ladies because if you were a little girl living in the 19th century, you would of worn an apron and it might of had pockets. When Mother would have needed your help, a doll that could easily slip into your pocket would have been very special to you. These ladies are sort of flat and about 1.5 " deep.

She wears a period dress, and the hair reminiscent of Miss Antoinette. A little piece of cake is in her hands, after all "Let them eat cake". She is fun and historical and perfect for the French lovers in you life. Even if that is "vous!"

This is one of those multi delightful pieces, perfect for Halloween or for the Poe fans, something to keep out all year round. Creepy and dark, simple and elegant.

It all started with the words paraphrased from "The Raven", written by Edgar Allen Poe in 1845. Handwritten on the top of the coffin, " Here I opened wide the door darkness there and nothing more" E.A. POE. I knew I wanted an all black raven, and then came the coffin, with it's reminiscent victorian foot. Some times a great piece just comes together.

One of my most handsome crows to date, he has a lovely slit bend to his neck and a nice pointy beak. And hubby out did himself on the new wire feet. The wings are hand painted as another nod to the Victorians.

Miss Hen Chicken Pin Cushion

Another fablous vintage find! This is an egg cup, with two egg holders under the hen dome cover. I repurposed it as a lovely pin cushion. A bit of red stripe homespun fabric complemetns and touch of toile. The fun part about this piece is the hen still fits on top!

To make this even more extra special, I made a star pattern on top of very tiny vintage buttons, some shell others porcelin, but all old. The center is filled with granite fillings to keep the pins sharp.

Add this to your sewing room or just set about for a fun look in your home. An excellent One-Of-A-Kind (OOAK) and any sewer or needle artist in your life would love this piece!

Just finished this charming new piece inspired by antique bird trees. I have seen so many old, folk, bird trees lately at antique shows. They are sweet and simple, many of them are multi colored. I did this one with some of the same feeling I loved about the antique ones but with my fresh twist.

The pair of yellow birds, simple in style and paint, compliment the blue bird stand. The stand, a scraped finish on layers of greens and blues, then finished with a wax rub, allows the piece to look both old and modern. Both swings move cleverly, and a slight breeze gives this piece movement.

It is an exceptional piece, if I do say so. A limited edition signed and numbered, this is a papier mache dove, all in white. It has a subtle crackle on areas of the white, on the wire it simply says "peace" in individual tags. This piece hangs from a ribbon and has a flat back.

We are also using this piece on-top of one of our Christmas trees this year. By putting the ribbon over the top and perched it up on the upper branches. It looks great. A timely message with so many uses for years to come.

Bee skep's of straw were made and used late in to the 1700"s. A classic form and shape, a little center whole in the front was the only way for the bees to come and go.

Our version all made of papier mache on a fancy, wooden, white base has a number of bees flying about. Each bee is handmade of papier mache body wrapped in thin black fabric on curly wire. Bits of fine green fabric is around the hive.

I can't believe it took me this long to make a Magnolia garland. But my recent trip back to Virginia reminded me of these beautiful trees. So to all my southern and magnolia lovers like me, here's one for us!

Made from heavy weight muslin, which has been hand-dyed and hand-painted. The magnolia flowers feel a bit larger at 2.25" wide, three flowers on the strand feature two leaves both with green and brown sides. Approx. 6 ft. long, tie them together if you need longer strands.

They will look great draped on a mantel or through the loops of a chandelier.

This is a brand NEW piece, a more stylized version if you will of my other bird toppers. A more classic take on a wedding, all in white the pair is elegantly perched in the moment before the first kiss!

The birds are of handmade papier mache with wooden legs. An over all crackle adds a special touch of detail when your close up. The base of wood is a smaller size oval. We could leave a space open in the front and personalized the piece with the couples names. The flowers in the middle are all hand-cut and sit on a little green patch. Original I made these up with the intent of them being "Baby's First Christmas" ornaments. But now I think they would look equally as cute on a knob in babies room or on a cabinet in the nursery.

These little tweets are made of heavy weight muslin, soft stuffed and hand-dyed with vegetable base dyes. A little fabric plaque on the back commemorates the baby's first of your choice. Some examples are shown in the last photo.

This is still one of my personal favorites.

The is a papier mache piece and one of three in a series. I call her a pocket lady because if you were a little girl living in the 19th century you would of worn a apron and it might of had pockets. And when Mother would have needed your help a doll that could easily slip into your pocket would have been very special to you. These ladies are sorta flat not totally but only about 1 1/2 " deep. She wear a dress of the period and her basket is loose, brown with a blue inside.
She has a historical feel and the warmth of the papier mache help her look period.

Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse...well maybe this fellow was happy with what he found.

That is this wreath for me, it all started with my love for antique crazy quilts, the mix, and match fabrics, the details, the contrast, the best ones in my option have lots of contrast and black in them. That's what I wanted in this wreath, and I hope you will agree it's a show stopper!

Made of quit a collection of fabrics I have accumulated, torn and frayed edged pieces are wrapped around a padded wreath form. Bits and pieces of fabric are then tied in a series of knots all around. For detail, large vintage buttons, in metal for a bit of sparkle and great old and unusual ones are added. But the best part it is all topped off with a red and white toile bow, (I could wrap the whole world in toile). This wreath is elegant, sophisticate, charming and country inspired. This very cute fishing penguin has made a special garland for his igloo, a fresh catch of fish today.

This extra special penguin is one of my very first sculpts. He was never released because I did not know how I wanted to finish him out, but I'm super pleased to present him this year finished, in time for Christmas.

A papier mache penguin stands on a pond pedal of wood. A little snow has fallen around the pond, a bit of glitter sparkles. A bottle brush tree is standing near by. Afine feathered friend, I love all birds but especially cardinals, they sit in the trees out side my office window and they are the brights thing on a winter day. They also are the state bird of my beloved Virginia. So here's a sweet tweet to brighten up any day!

Cut from my imagination, they are hard stuffed and sit on hand painted octagon stand. Each side of the stand has a different color combinations, that remind me of classic penny rugs. An all hand-painted mask face and a bit of twine keeps them on a plain stick perch. This is a signed and numbered limited edition of 100. So for all my fellow birdies, this would look great just about anywhere, but let me recommend your office, it will make you smile everyday!

This listing is an example which includes 3 people, two adults and child. As you will see from the other images, we can do everyone in the family including the pets!

These families are all papier mache on wooden bases. Hair color and style, skin tone, clothing style and colors are all up to your families specifics. Words, sayings or names can be written on the base. We need at least two photos of each subject to work from when creating.

White Rose Green Milk Glass Pin Cushion OOAK

A true passion of mine for a long time has been vintage glass items, there are so many great ones. When I come across something I like I pick it up and hold on to it until I can figure out something wonderful to do with it. I found three of these sugar bowl milk glass pieces, one green, one white and one yellow. As you'll see each has a wonderful repurposed use as a fabulous pin cushion now.

This ones done up very vintage style with a red ticking stripe ruffle, a small little rose print ruffle and a very yellow plaid that just screams retro kitchen. All tuck neatly in a green milk glass sugar bowl. On top is a handmade white muslin rose and two sweet leaves.

The center is filled with granite fillings to keep the pins sharp. Add this to your sewing room or just set about for a fun look in your home! This is a true One-Of-A-Kind (OOAK). A perfect gift for the sewer or needle artist in your life.
