This lovely baby quilt is a fun accessory for either a boy or a girl. Forget the pastels or typical baby colors. This quilt is vibrantly colored with purple, cyan, orange, green and yellow cotton fabrics, and accented with a super cozy golden flannel in a mottled pattern, which is used for the backing. It is an intricate design, made up of 192 2” squares and 32 4”x2” rectangles, in addition to the double border. This quilt was entirely hand-pieced, sewn and tied by me in my smoke-free and pet-free home.

Though quilts and other bedding should never be placed on top of babies, especially while they are sleeping or unsupervised, this quilt is ideal for use as a play mat for “tummy time”, to shield a baby on a chilly day, or use it as a decorative wall hanging.

Constructed with all new materials, including poly batting and cotton yarn for the knots. Machine wash cold and dry low, or lay flat to dry.

Scrappy Basketweave Patchwork Baby Quilt

This quilt came to be when I decided to make use of my stash of fabric remnants. And I hope you are as pleased with the result as I am. It is comprised of 64 1” strips of fabric, and 32 2” strips, arranged in a random basketweave pattern. Vibrant mottled blue cotton is used for the backing, and the binding is made from a super soft mint green flannel. This quilt was entirely hand-pieced, sewn and tied by me in my smoke-free and cat-free home.

I tried something new with this quilt, for springtime, and it has NO BATTING, making it perfect for a light cover for babies and toddlers in their strollers or car seats, or use as a receiving blanket. It would also be ideal as a decorative wall hanging, to add visual interest to a nursery or child’s room.

Remember, quilts and other bedding should never be placed on top of babies while they are sleeping or unsupervised.

Constructed with all new materials, including purple embroidery floss for the knots. Machine wash cold and dry low, or lay flat to dry.
