The subject of water towers is quite a different direction then all the other drawings. But once on a trip to New York I couldn't help notice that there were so many water towers. Then I found out there are over 10,000 of them!
That's a lot of water!

This is a mixed media collage on 8x10 canvas. I took the butterfly image and glued it onto a collage of text and textured paper. Lots of gel medium was used to give it smooth and shiny finish. Once the gel dried I went over the whole images with black paint and then wiped it off. The black paint stayed in the nooks and crannies giving it an old and worn feel.

I made this last week because there was this unused 8x8 canvas that seemed like it really needed art. I painted the background then collaged paper on top of that from an old UK envelope and then I added a page from an old book. The female figure is an anatomical drawing from the 16th century. It looks like she doesn't know how this plant to her left got there; thus the title.

I completed the image with clear gloss gel medium to hold it all together.
