When I discovered these vintage Swarovski crystal beads, I knew immediately that I had to use them in an old-fashioned design. For the bracelet, I strung the beads, which are most likely from the 1950's or 1960's, with tiny glass seed beads and a silver engraved bullet clasp. The bracelet is 7.5 inches (19cm) long. This is a one-of-a-kind piece that is readymade and available for sale now.

As a vegetarian, I don't buy bone beads, but this one was given to me as a gift from another artisan, so I put it to good use, with some lovely Bayong wood beads. Surprisingly lightweight for the scale of the piece, the necklace is finished with a goldtone lobster clasp and chain extender. It measures 17-19 inches (43-48 cm) long, adjustable.

Responsible in Red- Coral with a Conscience necklace

Coral is an ancient part of our world's oceans. As an artisan, it is important to me to create objects of beauty, but it is equally important to be mindful of the source of my beads and materials. Bamboo coral is a "lesser" member of the coral family which must be dyed in order to achieve the bright red tones, and thus it is not threatened like calcereous and proteinaceous variety. It is also not as dense as its more expensive relatives, and is often stabilized with resin and polished.

In this necklace, a large "branch" serves as the focal point, with smaller coral "sticks" making up the bulk of the design. Opaque red Czech glass beads and silvertone spacers are also incorporated. In the back, a different chain on either side creates a look of modern asymmetry. A twisted silvertone toggle clasp finishes the design, at a length of nearly 17 inches (43 cm).

We settled on a necklace and pair of earrings for her and three sisters, some with a slightly different style. Thus each lady received a little piece of something special from their mom, and the old jewelry got put to a good use!

As dark and deep as the Amazon night, this necklace will be one you reach for again and again. The pendant is a Tagua nut- a quickly renewable rainforest plant that takes the place of ivory. I found this delicate rectangular brooch at one of the local antique shops- it's so simple and yet very elegant. It has an emerald-cut clear rhinestone with a rainbow coating finish. I decided to use it vertically on this bracelet, with 5 strands of cream Swarovski crystal pearls.

A large, assymetrical Swarovski crystal pendant is the foundation of this color cascade necklace. Created using a cluster of crystal beads and pearls in shades from champagne to sand, it is funky and elegant at the same time. This is my most-talked-about necklace, whenever I take it to shows. Grab the attention of everyone in the room for your special occasion- with confidence, as the necklace is finished to a length of 16 inches (40.6 cm) with a strong and secure silvertone magnetic clasp.

A swirling pattern on this vintage-look marcasite centerpiece sets the tone for Old Hollywood Glamour. Dripping with clear Swarovski crystal briolettes, the focal attaches to sterling silver bead chain with sections of crystals and champagne pearls. Sparkling, yet understated, this piece will accent many occasions. It is adjustable between 15-17 inches (38-43 cm)- but the pendant hangs down another inch from that measurement.

A fun necklace made of polka-dot lucite beads, black hand-painted silk cord, and silvertone circle chain! (The red is a very bold, cherry red- the camera washes it out a bit). It is lightweight, and just the right length at 22.5 inches (57 cm). The necklace is finished with a silvertone toggle, or bar and ring, clasp, which is easy to use.

A large pink resin donut pendant is the focal point of this chunky and unique necklace. On pink faux suede cord, I strung pink resin beads to match, interspersed with Hill Tribes silver beads. Contrast is one of my favorite elements in jewelry-making, which is achieved here by placing soft, matte resin next to the luster of glass pearls. They are connected with gunmetal findings, and finished with surgical steel earwires to a length of 2 inches (51 cm).
