Okay, I guess these may need a little explaining. So I have some obsessive compulsive tendencies.

I started making porcelain fortune cookies at a time in my career when I had no idea of what to make at that moment.
I remembered when Mr. Rogers went to tour a fortune cookie factory, and decided to have a go at making some.

Now I enjoy making them as a break in between other pieces, whenever I need a little down-time.

As an added bonus, they happen to look great in a bowl as a centerpiece. I have also discovered that they will work well as place-card holders, as in the 2nd photo. Great fun for a dinner party or a wedding. Contact me if you would like a larger quantity.

They are made of the same porcelain as my other work. The intentional lack of color is meant to keep people from trying to eat them.
That said, I wouldn't keep them anywhere that small children could get a hold of them.

They are 2 inches round, and about 1 1/4" high at the middle of the cookie. About the same size as a real fortune cookie.
They do not have fortunes inside; the paper would burn up in the kiln. So don't try to break them apart; you may cut yourself!
Fired to cone 10 (2380 degrees F), they are very durable and can be cleaned in the dishwasher if they get dusty. Each is hand-sculpted, not molded, so each one is slightly different. Just like real cookies!

They will come to you in a Chinese Take-out box- new, not used... That would be rude!

I sculpted these porcelain fortune cookies by hand, and colored them using my handmade bright red slip.

These cookies have been glazed and fired to cone 10 (close to 2400 degrees F).

They look great in a bowl on display, or you can use them as place card/ business card holders.

Made to order, this 10 inch diameter porcelain bowl is wired for hanging display, and is hand-thrown on the wheel. Names, dates, & fish design are carved free-hand through layers of colored clay to make the perfect wedding day gift, or anniversary present.

I'm going to come right out and say it: if you get a couple a set of steak knives or potholders, what are the chances that they will remember you everytime they use or see those things? Probably very slim. If you commission a personalized bowl from me, they will remember you. It will likely be their favorite gift. They may even cry when they open it. *I can't guarantee that they will cry or be your new best friend. But, they'll probably love the bowl.

The wedding bowl you commission will be hand-thrown on the wheel using the finest English Grolleg porcelain (you don't need to know what that is, just that it's really good clay); the fish design and names and date will be carved through layers of handmade blue and aqua slips. It will be finished in a clear glaze, and fired to 2380 degrees F.

The bowl will measure approximately 10 inches in diameter, and 3.5 inches in height. It will be wired for hanging display; it will also be food-, dishwasher- and microwave-safe. And it will come in a glossy white gift box.

Please allow me 6-8 weeks for the making of a custom piece. (If you're tight for time, I will try my best to meet your deadline. If it's not possible, I am happy to send a letter to the couple informing them of your gift, with an estimated delivery time.)

Hand-made porcelain dishes are made on the potter's wheel, and hand-carved. The color is in a layer of clay that I apply to each piece before it is fired. I carve the design freehand through that layer of colored clay to reveal the whiteness of the porcelain beneath. Each piece is then fired to almost 2400 degrees Fahrenheit with a clear glaze.

Each dish measures approximately 5" in diameter, and is the perfect size for holding a bar of soap, or for keeping your rings safe by the sink. Incidentally, it will also hold a pillar candle.

Mini dishes are food-safe, and can be used for dipping sauces or "nibbly bits", as they would say on AbFab.

Dishwasher- and microwave-safe, too.

This vase was hand-thrown on the wheel using the finest porcelain clay. The lotus design was drawn and carved out, freehand, through a layer of my handmade bright red slip.
The vase is finished with a clear glaze, and fired to cone 10 (2380 degrees F); it is watertight, and suitable for use with live flowers.
The vase measures 6" in height and approximately 5 1/2" at its widest point.

Each cup is hand-thrown, and decorated freehand with my handmade colored slips. The design is drawn through the slip and the background is carved away.

Covered in a clear, food-safe glaze and fired to 2380 degrees F, the tumbler is also dishwasher- and microwave-safe.

This is one of my favorite designs. The cup feels great in your hands; perfect for water, juice, tea or wine. Would work well as a small vase, too.
