Modernist Silver Watch Gear Earrings - Stainless Steel

This style of earring is what got me started making jewelry in the first place. I was inspired by the art I saw in Venice, California in the late '90's. I began collecting watches, tearing them apart and reconstructing earrings and necklaces with them.

I love the long, techy look of these earrings. A classy look for anyone into physics, science, eclecticism. I have customers of all ages who have bought these, even some that have requested clip-ons.

The ear wires are Sterling Silver.
The length of the earring is approx.,2 1/2 inches, but they are asymmetrical, so one side may be longer then the other.

The are just plain fun. Today, lots of people are making lovely things with watch parts. I love the steam punk look that has grown so popular. I however still see these as a simply modern application of the innards of watches, the skeletal nature is what inspires me. Each earring feels like a delicate work of art.

Seven vintage olive green beads, wire wrapped with one accent orange bead off set, make this necklace asymmetric in style. These vintage beads, possibly
Lucite, are upcylced and seemless. Their color and condition is wonderful.

An antiqued brass cable chain and a daisy toggle clasp finish it off to give the modern look a vintage feel.

Wear a bit of history around your wrist. These antique bone rings were likely made around the American Civil War era. Each one is hand carved. This color of the bone has developed a warm and gentle patina.
