I'm pretty sure that if I were ever stranded on a desert island I would rob all the copper wire from the engine of the boat that stranded me and make these earrings!

20 gauge copper wire is coiled here and wrapped to a slightly over sized pair of sterling silver hoops for good balance. All the metal is oxidized, polished, and burnished for a playfully rustic look. The hoops are configured to hang straight in line with the hooks just as a pair of wireless hoops would.

Well, maybe I went just a bit crazy with the hammer on these little spirals? They are hand formed and hammered (and hammered) of sterling silver wire then oxidized and polished for contrast and sheen. One of my most comforting memories of childhood is lying in my grandmother's attic room with the wonderful scent of lilacs wafting through the breezy window. Grandma had hedges of gorgeous lilac bushes thick with soft purple flowers and deep green foliage. When these beads fell together on my work bench I was suddenly back in Grandma's attic again.

Each earring has three tiny lilac blossoms dangling above a lovely matte green leaf. They measure approximately 1 1/2 inch from the top of the sterling silver ear-wires.

This wonderfully detailed little Turkish water pipe charm has been reclaimed from a pair of earrings that were purchased in Turkey during a cruise around the Mediterranean in the very early 1950's. This sweet, fun little lantern has been reclaimed from a pair of earrings that were purchased during a cruise around the Mediterranean in the very early 1950's. I believe it is silver over brass. It has some nice detailing and a little faded coral (or glass?) ball dangles in its center. The lantern hangs by a hand wrapped coral round on a hammered sterling silver open hoop reminiscent of the once popular charm-holders.

Accompanying the lantern you'll find an olive serpentine pear briolette hand wrapped in sterling silver along with a little hand carved shell bird fetish. All the silver has been oxidized and polished to continue the vintage look of the piece.

The textured hoops were then oxidized and polished for a distressed look and adorned with a trio of 2mm faceted gems in sparkling autumn colors. These hoops are cold forged from 20 gauge sterling silver wire. They were partially oxidized then hammered to deep set the dark areas. The outer edges were sanded back to reveal the shining silver and then they were polished and finally burnished to a sheen. Their distressed nature provides a dark appearance in some lights and, in others, the shining silver flashes through. I added a faceted matte sterling silver nugget bead as a lone adornment to increase the dark/light illusion. They measure just a hair over 1 inch in diameter.

A Lot of Vintage Plastic and Glass Beads / Caps

Rather organically shaped, these cupped vintage plastic beads from Japan in softest peachy pink tones are incredibly lightweight. These lovely little beads are approximately 6x3mm . The muted purple glass ones are more uniform in shape and size at 5x3mm.

They would look great in a cluster or could be used as caps on smaller plastic beads. The strand is about 28 1/2inches long. 2 1/2 Inches of the length consists of the slightly smaller, muted purplish glass beads; the balance is made up of the pale peachy-pink plastic ones . These are really sweet.
