Inspired by a pair of fabulous 1930s shoes, these derbies are made from navy pebbled kidskin and black buffalo calf. Stacked leather heel, leather sole, thin layer of rubber for traction. Easily repairable! (Well, maybe not by you, but hey who knows? Lots of people used to repair their own shoes. OR you can just take them to a trained professional when they wear down at the heel...)

Rounded toe...a little squared off at the end. Spit shining is optional.

A few years ago I happened upon some old wooden shoe lasts with an extreme bump toe. I later saw boots made with the same styling at a museum exhibition in NYC, and learned that they were something wacky from the twenties.

So here's my take on what I saw, a 1920s-inspired lace-up ankle boot for men or women (the original boots were made for men):

I have recently had a couple of requests for wallets, so I decided to combine my favorite things:

Eyeball Kid the Wallet measures 7 1/8" by 3 3/4" when folded and snapped.
Other interesting facts:

-holds five driver's licenses, in case you need to switch identities in a hurry
-holds a lot of cash. Hopefully this works for you.
-there is an outside zipper pocket that is useful for change, but I also shoved my cell phone in and it seemed to like it there. It beeped at me happily.
-this is a cyclops.
-there is a strap for holding your checkbook, but that does not mean you should whip out your checks at the last moment while there are ten people in line behind you at the checkout. Be prepared. That is all I ask.

You could always request that I not add the eyeball, if you don't want your wallet to stare at you. I take custom requests.

Perfect for...fishing? Out on the town? That first date?

Maybe if you are living in the past, like, ummm a few hundred years ago. On a pirate ship. Or on dry land. Let's say these are the wherever-whenever big boots, but you probably should also have some fencing gear, to ward off the neighborhood kids.

These lovelies have an 1.5" heel, square-toe, are thigh-high and able to be worn as the traditional buckets or simply cuffed once, or even full-on tall tall boots.

Mostly leather, with a touch of dance rubber and a rubber toplift (last heely bit) for wear and tear, repairability. Removable "butterfly" buckle spur thingy.

I fell for plastic. Plastic is so fantastic. When it isn't clogging sewers and rivers.

The fabric of these sandals is a light grey (the natural color of undyed unbleached linen) plastic-fused linen. It probably should be a strange raincoat or crazy tablecloth, but it's not. It's a pair of strappy sandals.

The particulars:
1 1/2" "kitten" heel
Long straps cross around your heel and tie asymmetrically over your outside ankle.
The straps are backed with the reverse of the fabric, so the plasticky goodness is not against your delicate skin.
There is some nifty cushioning in the insole.

of leathers, whether you are in another country,etc. I
require a 50% deposit to begin, and then the second half
is due upon receiving the shoes. I send the shoes
insured, and I will make adjustments to the actual shoes
if there are any adjustments to be made. The shoes are
repairable. Arch supports, comfort cushioning, etc can
be added or not, as you wish.
