Purple Glazed Ceramic Bowl

$18.00
Buy one, or buy them all! Each bowl was hand thrown on the wheel, altered to form the rim, then flipped upside down and trimmed to create the foot. They feature a beautiful purple glaze that breaks to a vibrant blue on the edges. This glaze makes the swirl in the center of the bowl more visible and interesting to look at.

This listing is for one bowl. Each measures approximately 6.5" wide x 3" tall. Each bowl's measurements vary slightly due to their handmade nature. They are the perfect size for cereal, soup, salad, desserts....you name it!

As always, Mary Dorsch Pottery is a certified bay area green business and is cruelty-free. Each vase takes approximately 2.5 hours to create, plus firing time. It can be used to hold flowers, but is equally as beautiful standing on it's own as the focal point in a room. It measures approximately 10.5" high. It is glazed in a striking blue-green glaze both inside and out, which turns to a rich amber brown on the edges. You will receive the exact vase shown in the photograph.

Mary Dorsch Pottery is a certified green business. The feet were then added as pieces of clay and created using water and a pulling motion with my hand. Coils were then added on the top to allow water to drain away from the soap. It was fired once, glaze, then fired again in a gas kiln. The color is a beautiful blue green celadon with white specks in the clay body that show through. The piece is signed on the bottom by the artist as shown in the last picture. It measures 4" x 4" and 2.25" high.

These make a great gift presentation with the addition of a bar of handmade soap and a ribbon. Once the clay begins to get firm, the bottom is trimmed and a piece of the bottle is cut out to create the floral shape. Extrusions are then added and molded into the freshly cut bottle to create a thicker, more substantial rim. Finally the artist's signature is carved into the bottom and the vase is allowed to further dry before it is fired, glazed with two seperate glazes, then fired again. The finished vase is a great addition to any space. Its simple elegance fits into traditional and modern areas alike. It makes a stunning statement on its own or with your choice of flowers, branches or grasses.

Your vase may have slight variations from the photo. This is the joy of buying handmade pottery, knowing that no two are exactly alike and yours is truly unique!

It measures approximately 10" tall.

$90.00
This "canvas" was cut from a slab of clay and allowed to harden slightly. The design was then meticulously carved into the clay and the entire tile was covered with a black slip. Once the clay was completely dry, fine steel wool was used to remove the slip on the surface, revealing the (now black) carved lines.

The tile is then glazed in a clear glaze and fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. Once it is fired, it is attached to mat board that compliments the tones in the artwork, and an additional piece of mat board is cut to frame the piece. A frame is then chosen that brings out the style and colors that were used in the previous steps. Each piece is signed on the front and is ready for hanging. The lines on this cup really stand out with the white glaze as the backdrop. This is a one-of-a-kind piece and I have not made another like this one. Slightly modern, but simple enough to fit in with any style or decor. It can also be used as a small vase, pencil holder, etc...

All of my pottery is food, microwave and dishwasher safe. This set is great for everyday use as dipping bowls or to display everything from small food items to jewelry or tealights. Each bowl is approximately the same size and each measures 3.5" x 2" and is about 1.25" high. Each bowl is signed on the bottom by the artist.

Mary Dorsch Pottery is a certified green business.
Cruet set

It was created from wheel thrown and handmade parts. Most definately a one of a kind piece. This is perfect for everyday use, or for those special occasions. It would make a great gift for someone special! Each cruet has a lid with a handle for easy refilling. The glaze is both purple (towards the top) and a pale clear teal color. Some areas on the tray even have a reddish tint! Both the large and small cruet look great together on the tray due to the way they fit so perfectly into each other. On those days that you don't need oil and vinegar, you can even use the tray alone for serving appetizers. All pieces are food safe.

Mary Dorsch Pottery is a certified green business. Once the clay began to stiffen, it was meticulously carved by hand and the crevices filled in with red iron oxide. The entire piece is then coated with a shino glaze that, when fired, allows the iron to show through to the surface. This is definitely a centerpiece with a unique, eye catching design!

Both the cups and the saucers have a small foot to create a lift for all the pieces. They were altered to create the look of movement and glazed in a matte black (the inside of the cups and the saucers), and a glossy blue-green color (on the outside of the cups). The two tones compliment each other beautifully and add to the character of this set.

They cups are a very generous size. They each hold 16oz of liquid with room to spare. Each cup and saucer measure approximately 6" wide x 5.5" tall.

Mary Dorsch Pottery is a certified Bay Area Green Business.
