Woobie, HANDSPUN YARN

$12.00
This listing is for one 55 gram, 78 yard skein of hand dyed, handspun corriedale wool. I spin the wool into a lightweight single ply; the resulting fabric has a bit of a sheen, and is warm and light. It feels a lot like Manos del Uruguay.

This yarn is a heavy worsted/Aran weight. With an average skein, I get approx 17-19 sts per 4 inches on a 4.25mm needle, but just use that as information, not a command. What you get depends on your hands, your yarn, your needles. For good results always swatch first.

One skein will make an adult-sized beanie hat. Two skeins will make a small scarf or a pair of mittens, three will make a larger scarf. For an adult, medium sweater, 12 skeins is probably about right.

If you want more of this colourway, let me know. I tend to make them in batches of 4 or 8 skeins.

PATTERN Marcelles Hat

$4.00
This is a pattern for the hat that's pictured here. The hat is worked in the round with no shaping. A simple three needle bind-off (instructions included) closes up the top, and a pair of tassels gives the hat the appearance of antlers. And don't you want antlers? Well even if you don't, this is an easy to make, fun, kicky hat. I used two balls of Noro Silk Garden to make this hat, but any worsted weight yarn should do.

I will email you this pattern as a PDF file as soon as payment is received.

Smoochy, HANDSPUN YARN

I spin the wool into a lightweight single ply; the resulting fabric has a bit of a sheen, and is warm and light. It feels a lot like Manos del Uruguay. The skeins average about 69 yards; if you order more than one skein, I'll do my best to make sure that the yardages are as close as possible.

This yarn is a heavy worsted/Aran weight. With an average skein, I get approx 19 sts per 4 inches on a 5mm needle, but your tension is not my tension, and each skein is slightly different. For best results, always swatch first.

One skein will make an adult-sized beanie hat. Two skeins will make a small scarf or a pair of mittens, three will make a larger scarf. For an adult, medium sweater, 12 skeins is probably about right.

This skein is in the sale bin because it's been around for a bit and it's slightly worn - it's a little fuzzed up on the outside strands.
This skein is a little looser and more uneven than my usual, so it will knit up to have a subtly textured surface; since this is a semi solid rather than a handpainted roving, the texture won't compete with major colour variations.

This skein is 140 yards and is a worsted weight.

$12.00
This listing is for one 55 gram skein of hand dyed, handspun corriedale wool.

If you want more of this colourway, let me know. I tend to make them in batches of 4 skeins but only list 1 or 2 at a time.
I usually dye in batches of 220g or 440g, so send me a convo if you want more of this colourway than is currently listed.

Falkland wool has a wonderfully pillowy quality. It has a high crimp but is a fairly fine fiber with a soft hand and excellent body. The yarn made with this roving is soft enough to be worn comfortably next to the skin, but it has much better shape than merino, more body than BFL.

This roving is dyed with professional grade acid dye; it's lightfast and colourfast, with good saturation.

There are a few different types of wool in here, but mostly the batts are composed of what I spin with -- BFL, Corriedale, and Falkland. Usually a batt is 95% BFL. This stuff is so much fun to spin. It makes a yarn that's less distinctly variegated than the yarn that comes from a painted roving; the colour blends are a little more subtle, a little more tweedy. Try one, you'll be as addicted as I am! The batts are also excellent for felting.
The fabric created with this wool has a slightly silky hand and a light sheen. BFL is soft enough to be worn next to the skin, so this yarn makes great hats and mittens. One skein will get you a pair of mittens or an adult sized hat with leftovers to spare. It will make a regular size crocheted scarf, or a kids knitted scarf, or a kids hat and mittens.

This skein measures 160 yards and is approximately a worsted weight.

If you want more of this colourway, let me know. I tend to make them in batches of 4 skeins but only list 1 or 2 at a time.
I usually have multiple shades available of each primary and secondary colour, plus an assortment of neutrals. If you would like to specify colours (e.g. "muted tones" or "brights and primaries" or "reds and oranges plus two nuggets of white", do let me know.

This is sorta like ordering donuts at the drive-thru, eh? I should call these things "wool Timbits." (If you're Canadian you'll get that; otherwise disregard.)

The wool is usually BFL, a nice fine fiber, silky. Sometimes some Corriedale sneaks in. It's just as fine, but a tiny bit crimpier.

The pictures to the right are MERELY REPRESENTATIVE of the mix of colours I tend to have in stock; the actual colours you receive may contain those specific shades or may not. If you want to see a picture of the reds, yellows, etc. that I have in stock at the moment then feel free to ask, I'm happy to send one along.

The instructions are for a basic top-down beanie style hat, done on straight needles. The pattern is designed so that you can use any yarn you like. Of course, if you buy my yarn, I'll be happier, but any yarn is good. The toddler hat pictured takes 38 grams of my yarn, in case you're interested. You should be able to get at least an adult size small hat out of a skein of my single ply yarn, maybe even a medium, and the 2ply yarn has enough yardage in a skein for you to get even an adult large ribbed hat (ribbing tends to eat yarn).

PATTERN Full of Holes triangle scarf

$5.00
This is a pattern for a triangular scarf made from fingering weight yarn. I used Koigu, but that was before I discovered all the amazing people on Etsy who dye their own gorgeous handpainted yarn. The patterns takes approx 525 yards of fingering weight yarn. You could easily use a larger gauge yarn to get a bigger scarf, too (but estimating the yardage would be up to you).

The scarf is full of holes! But they're supposed to be there. The pattern is really simple, just 6 rows repeated, but the result is so great. You want this scarf.

To make this pattern, you only need to know how to cast on, cast off, knit, pick up stitches, and make tassels. Then wear with aplomb! This pattern has been available in hard copy at a few yarn shops for a couple of years now, so I have received lots of feedback on wording, etc. I believe it to be mistake free and well explained (although I am completely available by email for further or different explanations -- I'm always happy to help). I also know it to be tremendously popular, since the shops keep selling out of it and reordering. Try it, I'm sure you'll love it.

This pattern is a PDF file, which I will email to you as soon as payment is confirmed.

I spin the wool into a lightweight single ply; the resulting fabric has a bit of a sheen, and is warm and light. It feels a lot like Manos del Uruguay.

This yarn is a heavy worsted/Aran weight. I get approx 18 sts per 4 inches on a 5mm needle, but just use that as information, not a command. What you get depends on your hands, your yarn, your needles.

This colourway is easy for me to reproduce, so let me know if you want a larger quantity.
I spin the wool into a lightweight single ply; the resulting fabric has a bit of a sheen, and is warm and light. It feels a lot like Manos del Uruguay.

This yarn is a heavy worsted/Aran weight. For good results always swatch first.

One skein will make an adult-sized beanie hat. Two skeins will make a small scarf or a pair of mittens, three will make a larger scarf. For an adult, medium sweater, 12 skeins is probably about right.

If you want more of this colourway, let me know. I'm selling off some of my older skeins of BFL 2-ply in a bid to clear some space. These skeins are still the same gorgeous BFL that I usually spin, but they're a bit heavier -- perfect for making something for the cold weather that's coming.

This is a small skein. It's enough to make a small hat, or a pair of mittens for a young child.

Weight: 50g
Yardage: 60

The fabric created with this wool has a slightly silky hand and a light sheen. BFL is soft enough to be worn next to the skin, so this yarn makes great hats and mittens. One skein will get you a pair of mittens or an adult sized hat with leftovers to spare. It will make a regular size crocheted scarf, or a kids knitted scarf, or a kids hat and mittens.

This skein measures 170 yards and is approximately a worsted weight, possibly lighter.
The fabric created with this wool has a slightly silky hand and a light sheen. BFL is soft enough to be worn next to the skin, so this yarn makes great hats and mittens. One skein will get you a pair of mittens or an adult sized hat with leftovers to spare.

This skein measures 200 yards and is approximately a worsted weight.

I spin the wool into a lightweight single ply; the resulting fabric has a bit of a sheen, and is warm and light. It feels a lot like Manos del Uruguay. The skeins average about 77 yards; if you order more than one skein, I'll do my best to make sure that the yardages are as close as possible.

This yarn is a heavy worsted/Aran weight. With an average skein, I get approx 18 sts per 4 inches on a 4.5mm needle, but your tension is not my tension, and each skein is slightly different. For best results, always swatch first.

One skein will make an adult-sized beanie hat. Two skeins will make a small scarf or a pair of mittens, three will make a larger scarf. For an adult, medium sweater, 12 skeins is probably about right.

If you want more of this colourway, let me know. I tend to make them in batches of 4 or 8 skeins.

$12.00
This listing is for one 55 gram, 77 yard skein of hand dyed, handspun corriedale wool.

For an adult, medium sweater, 12 skeins is probably about right.

If you want more of this colourway, let me know. I tend to make them in batches of 4 skeins.

This is an orphan skein, which is why it's on sale. Clearing out the old!

This skein measures 185 yards and is approximately a worsted weight.
