This skirt has been made with a soft acrylic yarns. Wave patterns, butterflies, diamonds and triangles,circle around.

This one is larger than the first five listed, it measures 40"(101cm) Stretched at Waist with a draw string to fit many sizes, snugly and comfortably and is 16"(40cm)Long. It is 67"(170cm) circumference around lower edge. Great worn over leggings,or longer skirts, for extra warmth and colour.

This russety rich, earthy toned hat, is ideal for anyone who loves gorgeous earthy colours.

Created by hand in a style known as Tapestry Crochet, this snugly warm hat spirals down from rich red ochre wool with a mix of greens and salmon ,melting into russets of soft feathery acrylics.

It shines with golden hues of the turning seasons, with a touch of past bush-fires, and splashes of new green growth.

Like all of my hats, this one comes with a high thermal rating, as it has been made with multiple yarns worked together. It will keep you snug, and toasty warm all winter, to the envy of all your friends.
Can be worn inside out as well.

The rolled brim, (which enables all those who say, "Oh, I can't wear a beanie, They don't suit me !", to fashionably wear one), can be rolled down to cozily keep your ears warm. (See last photo)

Size suitable for small to medium sized heads, Children to Adult 22"-24" 56-61cm approx. as the thick fluffy yarn combo, is very accommodating to many sizes.

Samantha Sids has a cute little dress crocheted with recycled sari silk, unravelled from a cardigan.

She stands 6" (15cm) tall, with butterfly wings and antenna

Samantha the SIDS Beany Bear, has plastic beans inside to remind adults that when little new borns have bad colicky pain they need to have the pelvic region relaxed, I use a simple 'wiggle waggling', giving the hips a gentle to firm sideways wiggling accompanied by a verbal "Wiggle Waggle, Wiggle Waggle", to help distract them from the crippling pain.

I believe I once 'saved' a three week old baby from SIDS. Everyone was outside with a BBQ, I glanced into the room as I passed the door, and felt something not quite right, when I neared the bed I found young Aito's face, totally red with lips and eyelids a dark indigo colour.

I can't be sure, that at the last possible minute, he might not have finally taken a breath, before he 'mysteriously' died of SIDS, but he was in so much pain from his colic that he had totally seized up, muscularly, and wasn't breathing normally.

I gave him a gentle 'wiggle waggle', he relaxed, passed a large mass of wind, and promptly fell asleep with a smile on his face, his colour returning to normal.

This hand painted shirt, is wearable art, that will brighten up your life! and all who sees you wearing it.

When you wear bright happy colours, not only do you brighten others lives, you get such compliments from people, that, even if you weren't feeling good that day, you begin to feel better, when they say things like,
" Wow, you're looking good today !".

All because the bright shirt you are wearing, made them feel suddenly better in themselves. It snowballs, and before you know it, you are feeling much happier within yourself.

Colour has an incredible, affect in our lives, yet so many people live and wear very boring, bland, or dark clothes. They try and fit in with the masses, try to blend in with the crowd, they can become 'almost invisible'.

I having worn different and very bright clothes since I first started buying my own clothing, from second hand shops,and markets, I find people everywhere remember me, for years. And I get lots of warm and friendly smiles, from total strangers, and spontaneous compliments while shopping in the supermarket. It's very Up-Lifting !

This is sized XS, yet is more like small to med, it measures 32"(81cm) flat, 40"(101cm) stretched, around the bust, 22"(56cm) wrist to neckline, 21"(53cm) neck to bottom edge,and 32"(81cm)flat,42(107cm)stretched, around the hips lower edge.

My hand-painted clothing, has first, been thoroughly washed, to remove any starches and chemicals, present in new cotton, or hidden cellulose stains in good quality pre-loved shirts.
Then it is hand-painted with Fibre-reactive dyes, and I work with each colour, the brush, gradually becoming dryer, carefully blending in to the lighter colours.
After it sits, for anything over the minimum of 12 hours, (often a few days) to get maximum 'Reactive' time, it is washed exhaustively, to remove ALL excess dye, (sits leaching in buckets over night) til I am satisfied.

The Sunset Silhouette Shirts, then have their silhouettes hand-painted on, with black Fabric Paint (Silk Screen Ink).
Each is an individual artwork carefully painted on to different types of fabric, (ribbed fabrics being the hardest). They are then Heat set with an iron.

Painting on to fabric is a lot harder than paper or canvas, as you need to achieve the Right amount of 'Flow', without the paint 'Bleeding'.
The Silhouettes are painted all the way around the shirt, with a different landscape view on the reverse side. All are totally Unique and individual.

They can be hung on your walls when not being worn. either on a coat hanger or a short length of Bamboo with a coat hanger hook screwed in.

This shirt is a good quality pre-loved shirt.
Whilst the fabric dye has been thoroughly, rinsed, we advise washing by hand in a gentle wool wash for the silhouettes longevity. They do not like hard detergents, or soak/agitate cycles. My Mum always washes hers in the machine, but she uses a blue plastic ball filled with liquid, instead of detergent.

This Fall of Autumn Colours hat, will keep you warm and stylish this Northern Hemisphere Winter.
Created in tapestry crochet, you will stand out from the crowd

For those of you who have never seen, and felt my hats, they are lusciously thick, fluffy Winter Hats, well known in Australia, but not so 'known' elsewhere.

'Tho many years ago, I did have an order, relayed from Antarctica, for two hats, to be made and sent to Scotland !

They have an excellent Thermal Rating, being crocheted with two yarns twined together, Pure Wool with Fluffy Acrylics to buffer the prickliness of some pure wools.

They take, not only the many hours of crochet time,as I work a very tight stitch, but quite a bit of time, hunter/gathering the many shades of colour, so that when I'm creating, a new piece of Wearable Art, I have JUST the RIGHT shade of colour

Created by me,a mad 'Beanieologist', with 15 yarns in Golds Oranges and Browns,it has a softness of Glorious Autumnal Falling leaves. It will almost certainly 'envelop' your head with glowing warmth.

Being born in the Year of The Rat, I can't help being a collector and 'hoarder of 'useful stuff', that 'might' be useful, 'sometime, somewhere.

So, I pick up things I find lost and dropped on the street, or keep things because they might be useful for something, sometime, somewhere !

And having Chinese New Year start on my birthday last year, and it also being, Year of the Rat, I thought it only appropriate, to spring clean the Rat's Nest.

This Hat made from totally recycled materials, was entered in the 2008 Alice Springs Beaniefest's 'Greenie Beanie' category.

The idea came when I was cleaning out the 'Nooks and Crannies' in our bus mobile home, I thought, can I crochet with this ? or this ? and how about this ? It utilises some of my favourite old clothes, the colours I could just never quite part with.

It starts off with some 'found' gift wrap ribbon, and moves into mobile phone ear piece wire with the clip and ear piece. Further down I've used some of my favorite old clothes that I liked too much to throw out. There are some badges from my days trying to help stop the destruction of Tasmania's Old Growth Forests, by Woodchipping.

It was a challenge to make, and often quite hard to actually crochet with some of the material. I now have quite a large basket of 'stuff' to try in my next piece.
A unique hat to display, then wear to an 'Event' !

This warm, winter,crocheted hat is like an underwater garden of sea grasses and sparkles, it's like diving deep in tropical waters and being refreshed by blueness.

Created by Freeform Tapestry Crochet, starting with a fine silky yarn with silver beads adding a special feature, moving into a sparkly Turquoise Lurex yarn in Tapestry Crochet points. The hat, then grows in rounds of jade and blues, feathery, fluffy and smooth yarns all artistically blended into a truly One Of A Kind art piece for your head.

It is made as a Beret and can be pulled over the ears, keeping them snug and warm. You can also turn the edge inside out, rolling it back to be a brim for a hat that sits more on the top of your head.(Working the tightest round down, to grip your head.)

Aussie Feathery Emu Hat

This delightful hat, has been designed and handmade by myself, crocheted with Tapestry Crochet, at the top, in the spiral pattern, with mohair and pure wool.

It then circles into more 'colours of the earth', with feathery acrylics. A chain of black wool with silver metallic thread, loops around in triangles, with beads of semi-precious stones,Magnetite and Amber, and beads of Australian Woods.
Three of these hanging beads have Emu Feathers, from the Australian Emu,(Our large flightless bird). See Emu egg in two of the pictures.

They hang in front of pure wool yarn entwined with silver metallic thread.
Three Emus have been Tapestry Crocheted in and later had some longer 'Feathers' embellished on top.(Also the legs were embroidered on later.)

The 'foreground grass' has been rolled around a ring of foam, giving it a firm base.

Size is large, Will comfortably fit a person with large sized head or a thick head of hair, without being too tight. (25", 63cm approx. though your head need not measure this and most probably won't.)

For those of you who have never seen and 'felt' my hats in real life, they are very thick, warm Winter Hats, with an excellent Thermal Rating.

This alluring amber rust hat, has ear flaps to keep your ears and cheeks extra warm this winter up 'north' (that other hemisphere ! lol).

This winter hat measures 59cm (23")around, approximately, and 19cm (7.5")from crown to ear, will fit smaller heads as well. As shown by the child sized model. Yet, it is a snug fit on my head which measures 22", and over time it will stretch marginally.(It's always a sure sign for me to make a new hat for myself when the current one, slips off when I hug taller people lol!)

They can also double as puppets !

Here in Oz, we have Echidnas, a larger, different sort of version, of a porqupine, and the antenna points of the hats, transform into 'snouts' of an echidna, with the help of you index finger, very cute.furry & needs patting, entertaining younguns for hours.

They take not only the many hours of crochet time, but quite a bit of time, hunter/gathering the many shades of colour, so that when I'm creating, a new piece of Wearable Art, I have JUST the RIGHT shade of colour. 'Tho this one has been a tad faster, it's patterning, the change of yarns to give a textural variety. That is why this one, may be more in your price line.

I having worn different and very bright clothes since I first started buying my own clothing, from second hand shops,and markets, I find people everywhere remember me, for years. And I get lots of warm and friendly smiles, from total strangers, and spontaneous compliments while shopping in the supermarket. It's very Up-Lifting !

My hand-painted clothing, has first, been thoroughly washed, to remove any starches and chemicals, present in new cotton, or hidden cellulose stains in good quality pre-loved shirts.
Then it is hand-painted with Fibre-reactive dyes, and I work with each colour, the brush, gradually becoming dryer, carefully blending in to the lighter colours.
After it sits, for anything over the minimum of 12 hours, (often a few days) to get maximum 'Reactive' time, it is washed exhaustively, to remove ALL excess dye, (sits leaching in buckets over night) til I am satisfied.

In this one I have used Fabric texta pens on top of the dye.
Each is an individual artwork carefully painted on to different types of fabric, (ribbed fabrics being the hardest). They are then Heat set with an iron.
All are totally Unique and individual.

They can be hung on your walls when not being worn. either on a coat hanger or a short length of Bamboo with a coat hanger hook screwed in.

This shirt is a good quality pre-loved shirt.
Whilst the fabric dye has been thoroughly, rinsed, we advise washing by hand in a gentle wool wash for the silhouettes longevity. They do not like hard detergents, or soak/agitate cycles. My Mum always washes hers in the machine, but she uses a blue plastic ball filled with liquid, instead of detergent.

This bright and simple hand painted Rainbow Shirt, has been painted and blended by hand using fibre reactive dyes, that are totally colourfast.The excess dye has been thoroughly rinsed out, so what you see here, is what you get after washing. It can go in the wash with everything, with no fear of dying anything else.

Size 9 Girls. Measures 27"(69cm) across chest un-stretched,
16.5" 42cm) shoulder to waist. 32" (91cm) waist.

I have been painting these 'Living Rainbows' for many many years, with much amazing feedback.

One customer returned years later to tell me that wearing one of my rainbow shirts would change the behaviour of her boy, from wild and uncontrollable, to quieter and reasonable !

This is part of my stash of 'Living Rainbows' Stall of wearable rainbows, that I am not really doing much of anymore, although I think I'll always find a bit of time for the painting of rainbows, as I have done them for years.

Painting rainbows is wonderful for cleansing your aura, as is wearing them.

Colour has an incredible, affect in our lives. Orange and gold have an energising effect. and sunsets make everyone feel good.

My hand-painted clothing, has first, been thoroughly washed, to remove any starches and chemicals, present in new cotton, or hidden cellulose stains in good quality pre-loved shirts. This is an upcycled shirt.

Then it is hand-painted with Fibre-reactive dyes, and I work with each colour, the brush, gradually becoming dryer, carefully blending in to the lighter colours.
After it sits, for anything over the minimum of 12 hours, (often a few days) to get maximum 'Reactive' time, it is washed exhaustively, to remove ALL excess dye, (sits leaching in buckets over night) til I am satisfied.

Then each Silhouette is individually hand painted on, which is why we recommend hand washing, to insure it is not put in a heavy duty cycle with very strong detergents. Machine washing is possible but short soft cycles using a water molecule changing plastic ball instead of detergent is recommended, fro longevity of the black silhouette.
The fibre dyed, colours are totally colourfast and will not dye anything else in the wash!

This extremely warm felted hat, that has been crocheted over size, in delicious purple hand spun yarn, then fulled down,(shrunk) in the washing machine, several times, to create a snuggly warmth, that will delight the ears when covered by this hat in the coldest winter weather.

The thickness is approximately 1cm thick
The Thermal Rating on this hat, could be 'Arctic', 'Below Zero' or 'Beat the Wind Chill'

Embellishment has been Needle Felted on, using pre felted 'leaves' and silk sari yarn

It is also reversible having a felted 'crown' inside to help raise it on the head, if you turn it inside out you have a second stylish hat, to wear on every other day !

Up-cycled by hand painting in a rainbow spectrum, they are also reversable, being more bluer inside.

Here is the first of my new line of Upcycled Dancing Dresses.
Treat you daughter, to a fabulous fun floaty rainbow dress, that just simply inspires one to dance.

I bought myself a wonderful Dancing Dress recently, a beautiful handmade, dream of a dress, and when I wear it I am inspired to get up and dance, despite the nagging pain of my hip injury that is very slow to heal.

It has taught me how to make the dresses I always tried to make by cutting up my old clothes and re sewing them into new creations. Now I have bought an over-locker, and watch me sew !!

The delightful ribbon additions have been sewn onto brooch pins, so they can be taken off when washing dress.

This gorgeous dress is a good size for an young girl 8-10 0r 11 if small for her age. The singlet top was a girls size 8 Australian. I tried it on three local girls, two of whom modelled it for me in these photos the taller girl is 11, and I think fairly tall for her age whereas the smaller is 10 and small for her age.
It measures 26.5" (67cm) waist and 27" (68cm) from under the arm to the lowest point.
