Just hatched, Seamus is already ready to party. This little guy wants to know where the munchies are. Please no, uh, turtle soup though.

Yes, even with all the carvings, sprigs and Seamus-this bowl is 100% functional. After throwing this on the potter's wheel, I added all the sprigs (decorative clay add-ons) and then hand carved the rim. Seamus is sculpted using the techniques of Christi Friesen from her book, "Under the Sea". Each of the underglaze colors is handpainted. This Artbowl measures 3¾"H X 9"W and holds 4 cups US or 3.32 cups UK.
It is suggested that this bowl be hand-washed and not put in the dishwasher.
Never put a pottery bowl in a pre-heated oven, as the thermal shock can cause it to crack or even shatter.

This doberguy says he can be trusted with the all your fave tidbits. Oh, rly? Yep, people or puppeh treats will be tasty and safe, as the surface is a completely food safe glaze.

Rattle- Blue Man in the Moon

Functional? Well, no, but it does have F-U-N in it. Give this little desktop toy a shake and it 'gives' you a smile.

The rattle is made from stoneware clay fired to cone 06. This makes for a less tinny sound, than if it had been fired to full cone 6. It is painted with acrylics in a 'once-in-a-blue-moon' faux glaze and is sealed with polyurethane. His face is hand sculpted, no molds were used. Moonboy measures 8¾'' around and is 2¾'' X 2¾''. There are felt pads on the bottom to protect desktops and other surfaces.

Rattle-Live, Laugh, Love faux raku (Thesaurus version)

I love a Thesaurus. It's much, much better than a Veggiesaurus. And makes "live, laugh, love"...well, uncommon and a tad fresher. Let's hear it for uncommon and Tad!

And functional? No, but it does have F-U-N in it. Give this little desktop toy a shake and it 'gives' you a smile.

The rattle is made from stoneware clay fired to cone 06. This makes for a more melodious, pleasing sound. It is painted with acrylics for a Raku glazed appearance and the letters were hand carved. Acrylic yarn is twined around the rattle and two posable bead 'tails' are at your bending pleasure. The smooth surface, excepting the text, feels comforting in your hand and-dang, if I do say so myself-it's just fun to hold. The rattle measures 3½"W x 3½D x 2"H. Green felt half-circles have been applied to the bottom to stop scratches from being applied to your desktop.

Relish Platter Lace pattern w/sunflowers in Navy

This sweet, little dish is just waiting to serve up something yummy to friends or family. The lace pattern comes from an impression from an antique doily. I search for the placemats, doilies and runners in resale shops, flea markets and the ever popular garage sale. By using these stained, torn, seemingly useless items, I breathe life into the original artist's work. The handcrafted design lives on in a totally different medium. While it does stain the fiber, I can use them repeatedly without further damage to the needlework. I have found it a lovely way to keep someone's fiber craft alive.

The lace relish measures 5½''D x 12''W x 1''H and has colorful sunflowers in the top left-hand corner. The press mold for the sprig was also hand-made by this artist. The serving platter is cone 6 Stoneware with food safe glazes, and is safe for the dishwasher and microwave, as well.

Pendant Polymer Clay Dragon's Eye

Let the staring contest begin.

This dragon's eye is completely hand sculpted by me; there were no molds used. The pendant measures 2" x 2" and is ⅜" at its highest point-the eye ridges. It has been sealed with several coats of water-based polyurethane to insure its longevity. The necklace is a 17" nylon coated wire, which is very light and thin, and metal findings.

Dragon Hatching Polymer clay and pottery

Don't worry! I only hatch kindly dragons. This little 'almost' dragon is peering out, with a violet-merled eye, and might be wondering what is in store for him. Or is that a "her''?

I have combined pottery and polymer for this "mixed media original". The egg is made from stoneware and is fired to cone 06. I have painted it with acrylic paints in a faux raku finish. The dragon 'parts' are sculpted from polymer clay and no molds were used on any part of this piece.

The egg measures 11½'' around and stands 4¼'' tall. It is 3½'' wide and the tail and foot both extend out a ½ inch more, each. The 'cracked' portals are approximately 1''-2'' each. This egg is meant to be decorative, not functional, and should not be in liquids (or food). It will handle a quick rinse for dusting purposes and should, then, be dried thoroughly.

Dragon Box- Faux Raku

Here, there be dragons. Well, one anyway. Harold is a most agreeable sort of dragon-kind. He lays atop this ceramic box waiting for treasure that needs protecting.

Harold is sculpted in the style of Christi Friesen, a wonderful polyclay artist who gives her blessing on using her techniques. He is, though, completely Cone 6 stoneware and faux painted to resemble a fired Raku glaze.
The box was extruded, altered and Harold was handbuilt using no molds. The box measures 2¾"H X 6¾"W X 2¾"D.
The box and Harold are painted with acrylic paints and then sealed with a polyurethane. While this hybrid finish is quite durable, it will only accept a quick rinse should the outside become dusty. This piece is NOT safe for food, dishwasher or submersion.
