My limited camera skills do not do this picture justice. I had a hard time getting a sharp picture without glare. Honestly, if you like the cameo locket in this picture, in person, it has sharp and vibrant colors with clear details, i guarantee it!

This is one of many cameos that i had custom made by another talented etsy seller to include in my jewelry designs. It is done by the dye sublimation method which means that the image is permanent and will not fade. It is done using dyes and not inks. It is permanently baked on to a glass cabochon.

Those of you who are familiar with the famous Artist, Alphonse Mucha, Father of the Art Nouveau Movement, may recognize this famous reproduction of his painting entitled 'Amethyst' from his Gemstone Series. The complete series included Topaz, Ruby, Emerald and Amethyst. I also will be listing 'Topaz' (shown in the last photo) if you are interested as well as cameo lockets from his '4 Seasons' Series.

'Amethyst' was quite popular and was used as a postage stamp in Czechoslovakia for a period of time to honor Alphonse Mucha as this was his native country. Lots of nice details in this piece. My limited camera skills do not do this picture justice.

The center 'eye' of the stalactite is made of various minerals and from there the Quartz crystal growth ring begins. Imagine, just this crystal growth ring took hundreds or perhaps thousands of years to grow. Then, over the growing period of the clear quartz crystal ring of this stalactite, something occurred in either the temperature of the earth's crust or changes in the mineral composition surrounding that ring and that is why the color changed to purple and the amethyst ring started to grow. FYI...The center of the rococco component is depressed so if you want to glue on another embellishment, there is a spot to do it on. In some of my designs, i attached an 10x8mm or smaller sized cabochon here.

The overall length of the necklace is approximately 19 inches. The Center component of this design is 1 wide so that is how the total length of the necklace becomes 19 inches when coupled with the 18 inch chain which is included. This necklace can be easily shortened by just snipping the links of the chain to your desired length with scissors or a wire cutter.
