I am inspired to create my Faeries and mythic creatures though my fascination with the ancient lore and legends of the Faerie People of all lands.

My artistic inspiration comes from Nature, first and foremost.

I also love and greatly respect the work of artists such as Brian and Wendy Froud, Alan Lee, Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac.

In addition to these, my inspiration as a doll artist comes from my love of old world dolls and old fashioned marionettes. I love the quality of a doll being doll-like, and yet seeming as if it could come to life at any moment. I believe this influence shows in my work, and is a part of what makes my dolls unique.

My dolls truly seem to me to form themselves--I am only the medium. They emerge from the clay, each with his or her own distinct features and personality--they are always a surprise to me!

Across Europe in the last weeks of November, the elves are outside busy building the Christmas markets that stand in the city squares and central market places. Filled with cheer, they are decorated like miniature villages where throngs of people congregate to search for that special Christmas present among the outdoor shops containing traditional crafts from black-smithery to glass-blowing to fine silversmiths for handwrought jewelry.

On December 5th, children dress up as angels and devils to accompany Saint Nicholas as he goes from house to house bringing the season's cheer and drinking schnapps. Firecrackers explode in the noisy streets as fireworks burst above in the night sky, welcoming the Christams Season.
In Vienna, the ice-rink by the Stadtpark is filled with whirling skaters, and the duck pond with the Moore sculpture in front of the Karlskirche is glazed with ice for children to skate on. On the ring by the Rathaus, a miniature village is created among the towering trees with an outdoor rink where annually Freilicht Exhibitions of ice-skating and ice-dancing are performed by the new brood of competitive skaters.

In Prague, the Christmas Market assembles in the Old Town Square with a miniature ice-rink and pony rides to entertain the children. A miniature train whooshes in circles and the tourists congregate to watch the parade of saints on the great Astronomical Clock near the Tyn Church where Catholics and Protestants battled to dominate the religious front. Tourists throng the crowded narrow streets, arriving to enjoy the busy shopping season. It's Christmas. The Ice Castle surrounding the ice-rink is slowly melting, although scarcely a week old.

The story of the Snow Queen is a traditional favorite for the winter season, with the Snow Festivals that are celebrated across Europe. The largest Ice Castle is in Kemi, Finland-in Lapland where Gerda is abducted by the Robber Girl, and finally continues on the last leg of her journey with the reindeer to the icy, frozen north.

This is my Snow Queene,Neiva.

She is part of a new series of dolls that combine both of my favorite mediums for creating my fairies--softsculpture and polymer clay.

Her head, torso, arms from the elbow down and feet are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Her face is hand drawn and painted. It was then attached to the head and torso, which were sculpted from italian air dry clay.

Snow Queene is approx. 18" tall, from the top of her head to the tips of her toes.

Her body is a strong wire armature wrapped in cotton batting covered in fabric,which allows her to be very gently posed.

Her lovely face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her gown is created of assorted vintage and antique laces, fabrics and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Snow Queene's wonderful white hair is created from hand dyed mohair, sprinkled liberally with fairy dust (silver glitter).

She wears a hat of a fabric blossom. (this is not removeable). Fabric blooms also decorate her clothing, and she holds bouquet of winter flowers in her hand (the buds have beaded centers, and more beaded flowers accent the bouquet.)

Pixie will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist (Me!)

This is my Red Queene.

Her head, torso, arms from the elbow down and feet are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Red Queene is one of the largest dolls I have sculpted, standing approx. 20" tall from the top of her head to the ends of her skirts. Her body is a wrapped wire armature which allows her to be very gently posed.

She wears a royal crown made from azure glass beads and set with a large scarlet rhinestone (this is removeable), and her wings are created from sheer fabric and wired so that they are poseable.

In her hand she holds a sceptre adorned with ribbon and a large purple flower (this is not removeable.)

Her mysterious face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her gown is created of assorted vintage and antique laces, brocades and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls. A brass filigree heart hangs from the waist of her gown.

Red Queene's eyes are semi-precious hematite beads, and wild raven hair is created from hand dyed mohair and applied a plait at a time.

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist.

Ariana is a feminine name. The English name is derived from the Italian form of the Greek name Ariadne, which means "most holy" (Cretan Greek αρι [ari] "most" and αδνος [adnos] "holy")[1] and a Welsh name meaning silver (Welsh arian, "silvery").

Her gown is created from assorted vintage and designer fabrics. Marianna's wings are created of wire and silk.

Her exquisite face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her attire is adorned with vintage and antique laces, brocades and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist.

This is my Spirit of the Rose.

She is one of my newest little creations, I call them 'Sassy Sprites". Tiny little faeries with lots of personality! So small and sweet :)

Like my large dolls and sculpts, each one is entirely handcrafted with no molds of any kind used in their creation, so each is wonderfully unique and won't be duplicated.

This is Julietta. She is a tree sprite, who is responsible for choosing the shades of the changing leaves in autumn.

This is my new collection of handcrafted evening bags--drawsting purses with whimsical needlecrafted fabric faces, leaves, flowers, beading, charms, etc.

This one features Laura and Lizzie, the two sisters from Christina Rosetti's famous poem, "Goblin Market" on the front, and a mishevious goblin face on the back! :)

Each bag is entirely unique, I never exactly duplicate a face or design. (Bags are themed and decorated on both sides.)

****Please note that the original bag from which these photos were taken has been sold. But I have recieved so many questions and requests on this particular bag, that I have decided to offer to make a few more. While each of my bags is one of a kind and therefore not exactly alike, I can make them very similar. Therefore if you have a different style bag in mind (please see my other styles available), or different fabric colors you would like, I will be happy to do that for you!***

These bags can be used for everthing from evening bags to whimsical purses-- carrying art supplies, jewelry, or tarot cards--whatever you wish!

I hand draw and color each face, using a variety of media--watercolor, ink, pencils, and pastels. When finished, the face is heat set and sealed for protection.

Each bag is decorated with an assortment of fabrics. lace, ribbon, beading, fabric leaves and/or charms.

Custom Sprite--One Of A Kind Fairy Doll--FaerySpell Creations

These are my newest little creations, I call them 'Sassy Sprites". Tiny little faeries with lots of personality! So small and sweet :)

Like my large dolls and sculpts, each one is entirely handcrafted with no molds of any kind used in their creation, so each is wonderfully unique and won't be duplicated.

This listing is for a custom sassy sprite or small fairy doll, made to your specifications. (please note that photos shown are examples of my previous work only :)

Each sprite's arms to the elbow are a wrapped-wire armature, to allow her to be *very gently* posed in many whimsical positions.

Her lovely face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself.

Her gown is created of assorted scraps of vintage and antique laces, fabrics and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Each sassy sprites eyes are handpainted, and her pretty soft hair is hand dyed mohair, applied one plait at a time. She is approx. 4" tall, just a sweet, tiny thing!

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist.

All FaerySpell Faeries are carefully and lovingly packaged to arrive safely at their new home. They are sent via USPS Priority Mail, with delivery confirmation.

Twilight Faery-One of a Kind Fairy Doll-Faeryspell Creations

Meet the Twilight Fairy.

Her head, torso, and arms from the elbow down are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Twighlight is approx. 10" tall from the top of her head to the ends of her skirts, and is a hanging fairy. Her body is a wrapped wire armature which allows her to be very gently posed.

Her gown is created from assorted vintage and designer fabrics. Her wings are created of wire and silk leaves.

Her exquisite face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her attire is adorned with vintage and antique laces, brocades and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Twilight's wonderful wild black hair is created from maribou.

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist.

All FaerySpell Faeries are carefully and lovingly packaged to arrive safely at their new home. They are sent via USPS Priority Mail, with delivery confirmation.

Meet Papillion, She's a butterfly fae.

A name which originated as a surname de-rived from the Old English elements æsc (ash trees) and lēah (wood, clearing, meadow, enclosure): hence,"dweller near the ash tree forest."

Ash is a one of a kind, handsculpted fairy tree topper. Her eyes are colored beads and her sweet face is entirely handpainted. Her hair is maribou, and her lovely gown is created from velvet and silk leaves. In her hands she bears a gift in blessing for the coming New Year.

I grew up and currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I am inspired to create my Faeries and mythic creatures though my fascination with the ancient lore and legends of the Faerie People of all lands.

My artistic inspiration comes from Nature, first and foremost.

I also love and greatly respect the work of artists such as Brian and Wendy Froud, Alan Lee, Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac.

In addition to these, my inspiration as a doll artist comes from my love of old world dolls and old fashioned marionettes. I love the quality of a doll being doll-like, and yet seeming as if it could come to life at any moment. I believe this influence shows in my work, and is a part of what makes my dolls unique.

My dolls truly seem to me to form themselves--I am only the medium. They emerge from the clay, each with his or her own distinct features and personality--they are always a surprise to me!

One of my most unique and lovely bags, and a paper doll brooch too!

Large drawstring fabric pouch is adorned with assorted ephemera, fabric flowers,leaves and costume jewels. The faerie queene herself is removeable--handcolored, felt backed, and sealed, she makes a lovely and dramatic brooch.

Faerie is approx. 6" tall. Pouch is approx. 8" tall by 8" wide, printed cotton with a drawstring closure. Use for that very special evening out, or display as a work of art in your home :)

- Tane Mahuta - God of the Forest, Maori culture

Meet the Lord of the Forest.

His head, torso, and arms from the elbow down are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like him again.

Lord of the Forest is approx. 8" tall from the top of his head to the tips of his hooves. His body is a wrapped wire armature which allows him to be very gently posed.

His attire is created from assorted vintage and designer fabrics.

His handsome face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. His attire is adorned with vintage and faux fur,fabrics and details that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Lord of the Forest's hair and beard are spanish moss.

He will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist.

All FaerySpell Faeries are carefully and lovingly packaged to arrive safely at their new home. They are sent via USPS Priority Mail, with delivery confirmation.

This is Oestra. She is a Springtime fairy.

Oestra's head, torso, hands and feet are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Her arms to the elbow and her body from the waist to just below the knee are a wrapped-wire armature, to allow her to be *very gently* posed in many whimsical positions.

Her lovely magical face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her gown is created of assorted vintage and antique laces, fabrics and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Oestra's eyes are semi-precious hematite beads, and her hair is hand dyed red mohair, carefully applied one plait at a time.

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist (Me!)

Meet Flora.

Meet Samara.

Her head, torso, and arms from the elbow down are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Samara is approx. 10" tall from the top of her head to the tips of her tail. Her body is a wrapped wire armature which allows her to be very gently posed.

Her gown is created from assorted vintage and designer fabrics.

Samara's exquisite face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her attire is adorned with vintage and antique laces, brocades and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Her lovely dark hair is created from hand-dyed mohair, and applied a plait at a time.

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist.

Here are my Beauty And The Beast, from the famous children's fairytale.

Beauty is approx. 10" tall. Her head, torso, hands and feet are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Her arms to the elbow and her body from the waist to the knee are a wrapped-wire armature, to allow them to be *very gently* posed.

Her beautiful face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her gown is created of assorted vintage and antique laces, fabrics and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Beauty's eyes are semi-precious hematite beads, and her hair is blonde mohair, carefully applied one plait at a time. She wears pretty pink satin roses in her upswept hair.

Beast is approx. 12" tall. His head, torso, hands and feet are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like him again.

This is Lady Gwendolen, A Faery Poet

Her head, torso, arms from the elbow down and feet are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Gwendolyn is one of the largest dolls I have sculpted, standing approx. 16" tall from the top of her head to the ends of her skirts. Her body is a wrapped wire armature which allows her to be very gently posed.

She wears a crown of leaves and flowers, (this is removable) and more vintage jewelry findings trim her gown. She also wears a lovely choker necklace of flowers (this is not removable.

These are my newest little creations, I call them 'Sassy Sprites". Tiny little faeries with lots of personality! So small and sweet :)

Like my large dolls and sculpts, each one is entirely handcrafted with no molds of any kind used in their creation, so each is wonderfully unique and won't be duplicated.

This listing is for a custom sassy sprite, made to your specifications. (please note that photos shown are examples of my previous work only :)

Each sprite's arms to the elbow are a wrapped-wire armature, to allow her to be *very gently* posed in many whimsical positions.

Her lovely face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself.

Her gown is created of assorted scraps of vintage and antique laces, fabrics and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Each sassy sprites eyes are handpainted, and her pretty soft hair is hand dyed mohair, applied one plait at a time. She is approx. 4" tall, just a sweet, tiny thing!

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist.

All FaerySpell Faeries are carefully and lovingly packaged to arrive safely at their new home. They are sent via USPS Priority Mail, with delivery confirmation.

Blossom Fae--One Of A Kind Fairy Doll--FaerySpell Creations

This is my Blossom Fae.

Her head, torso, arms from the elbow down and feet are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Blossom is one of the largest dolls I have sculpted, standing approx. 15" tall from the top of her head to the ends of her skirts. Her body is a wrapped wire armature which allows her to be very gently posed.

She wears a fabric flower hat (this cannot be removed), and her wings are created from more fabric leaves and flowers. These also trim her gown and leggings.

Her sweet face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her gown is created of assorted vintage and antique laces, velvets and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls. .

Blossom's eyes are semi-precious hematite beads, and her wild rosy hair is hand dyed mohair.

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist (Me!)

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

I grew up and currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I am inspired to create my Faeries and mythic creatures though my fascination with the ancient lore and legends of the Faerie People of all lands.

My artistic inspiration comes from Nature, first and foremost.

I also love and greatly respect the work of artists such as Brian and Wendy Froud, Alan Lee, Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac.

In addition to these, my inspiration as a doll artist comes from my love of old world dolls and old fashioned marionettes. I love the quality of a doll being doll-like, and yet seeming as if it could come to life at any moment. I believe this influence shows in my work, and is a part of what makes my dolls unique.

My dolls truly seem to me to form themselves--I am only the medium. They emerge from the clay, each with his or her own distinct features and personality--they are always a surprise to me!

This is my newest collection of handcrafted bags-- purses and pouches with whimsical needlecrafted fabric faces, leaves, flowers, beading, charms, etc.

This one is my Garden Fairy pouch.

Each bag is entirely unique, I never exactly duplicate a face or design. (Bags are themed and decorated on both sides.)

These exquisite purses can be used for everthing from evening bags to whimsical purses-- carrying art supplies, jewelry, or tarot cards--whatever you wish!

I hand draw and color each face, using a variety of media--watercolor, ink, pencils, and pastels. When finished, the face is heat set and sealed for protection.

Each bag is decorated with an assortment of vintage and very high quality designer fabrics from France and Italy. Lace, ribbon, beading, fabric leaves and/or charms accent each one.

They include a ribbon so they may be worn over or across the shoulder, and this can be removed or tucked carefully inside if you wish to carry your purse in a larger bag.

This pouch is quite large,not tote size, but roomy. Approx. 9" in height, and 7" across when closed, it opens up to be roomy enough to carry makeup, cell phone, brush, and maybe even a small paperback :)

Mer-Family--OOAK Mermaid, Merman and Two Baby Fairy Dolls From The Sea--FaerySpell Creations

A wonderful, whimsical Mer-Family--Mommie mermaid, Daddy Merman and two little ones!

These four are entirely handcrafted, with no molds used of any kind, so there will never be another littel family quite like them again :)

Their heads, torsos and hands are sculpted of artist quality polymer clay, and their sparking green tails are a wrapped-wire armature, which allows them to be *gently* posed in many whimsical positions. The bottom of their tails are created from hand-watercolored shells.

(the arms to the elbow are also wrapped wire so that they are poseable, too!)

Mommy Mermaid is approx 6" tall, Daddy Merman is approx 7" tall, Big Brother Mer-boy is approx 3 1/2 tall, and the little Mermaid Baby is only about 1" long, wrapped in a little blanket and snuggled in to sleep in a little shell.

Their sweet faces are lovingly handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. The hair is created of hand dyed feathers, carefully applied one at a time. Their eyes are semi-precious hematite beads.

Their attire and the fabric of their tails is created of assorted vintage lace, fabric and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out just for my dolls.

This magical Mer-Family will be beautifully giftwrapped, and comes with a certificate signed by the artist. She will be lovingly and carefully packaged to arrive safely in their new home.

Miss Peggy Violet Firth

This is Miss Peggy Violet Firth.

She is a famous faery scribe and poetess renown for her stories about the mysterious realm...

Her head, torso, arms from the elbow down and feet are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Peggy is one of the largest dolls I have sculpted, standing approx. 15" tall from the top of her head to the ends of her skirts. Her body is a wrapped wire armature which allows her to be very gently posed.

She wears a fabric flower in her tousled brown hair (this cannot be removed), and her wings are created from fabric leaves. These also trim her gown and leggings.

Ellylon--One of a Kind Fairy Sprite--FaerySpell Creations

Ellyllon - The name given to the Welsh elves. They are tiny, diaphanous fairies whose food is toadstools and fairy butter, a fungoid substance found in the roots of old trees and in limstone crevices. Their queen is Mab.

These are my newest little creations, I call them 'Sassy Sprites". Tiny little faeries with lots of personality! So small and sweet :)

Like my large dolls and sculpts, each one is entirely handcrafted with no molds of any kind used in their creation, so each is wonderfully unique and won't be duplicated.

Each sprite's arms to the elbow are a wrapped-wire armature, to allow her to be *very gently* posed in many whimsical positions.

Her lovely face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself.

Her gown is created of assorted scraps of vintage and antique laces, fabrics and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

These are spirits who attach themselves to a particular place, usually man made, like houses. Especially old houses. They are generally feminine ancestral spirits.

These are my newest little creations, I call them 'Sassy Sprites". Tiny little faeries with lots of personality! So small and sweet :)

Like my large dolls and sculpts, each one is entirely handcrafted with no molds of any kind used in their creation, so each is wonderfully unique and won't be duplicated.

Each sprite's arms to the elbow are a wrapped-wire armature, to allow her to be *very gently* posed in many whimsical positions.

Her lovely face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself.

Her gown is created of assorted scraps of vintage and antique laces, fabrics and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Each sassy sprites eyes are handpainted, and her pretty soft hair is hand dyed mohair, applied one plait at a time. She is approx. 4" tall, just a sweet, tiny thing!

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist.

All FaerySpell Faeries are carefully and lovingly packaged to arrive safely at their new home. They are sent via USPS Priority Mail, with delivery confirmation.

Rosette, Spirit Of The Rose--One Of A Kind Fairy Doll--FaerySpell Creations

This is Rosette, Spirit of The Rose.

The rose carries the meaning of purity, passion, transmutation, completion, of consummate achievement and perfection, in addition to being an ancient symbol of joy.

In Roman times the rose was sacred to Venus.

Today most people think of the rose as a symbol for love. It is all of these.

Rosette is part of a new series of dolls that combine both of my favorite mediums for creating my fairies--softsculpture and polymer clay.

Her head, torso, arms from the elbow down and feet are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.

Her face is hand drawn and painted. It was then attached to the head and torso, which were sculpted from italian air dry clay.

Rosette is approx. 18" tall, from the top of her head to the ends of her skirts, making her one of the largest dolls both in height and scale that I've created.

Her body is a strong wire armature wrapped in cotton batting covered in fabric,which allows her to be very gently posed.

Her lovely face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her gown is created of assorted vintage and antique laces, fabrics and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.

Her gorgeously red hair is created from hand dyed mohair.

Rosette wears a hat of a fabric blossom. (this is not removeable). She also has embroidered roses appliques on the bodice of her gown, and fabric petals and leaves trim her wrists and ankles.

She will come beautifully giftwrapped, and have a certificate signed by the artist (Me!)

This is my Mr. Tumnus and Lucy, inspired by the characters in C.S. Lewis' "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe".

They are 8" and 7" tall respectively, entirely handsculpted and lovingly handpainted with no molds used, so they are absolutely one of a kind. Their clothing is stitched by hand and created of fine cottons, silks, and trims. Mr. Tumnus carries an umbrella crafted from silk leaves.

Lucy and Mr. Tumnus will come beautifully giftwrapped with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
