This piece was inspired by a picture I took during a hike in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin this year. We had gone up to the area for a get together of my husband’s friends from college. On the last day of the trip, all of us had decided to go on a hike along what was a train line (the tracks had been taken out) and we came across this farm.

Kinnier said the title was inspired by the “history behind the source photo and also addresses the theme of the road home.” I found it interesting that everyone who had suggested titles for this piece used the road as a main element in the title.

On a recent walk I spotted two little birds chirping to one another in a bush. I wanted to capture that moment in a drawing.

Herbert has been hanging out with so many other birds that he really just needed a little break. In fact, I believe he’s quite relieved to be able to have the telephone wire all to himself.

Size: 7” x 5” (17.8 x 12.7 cm)

Medium used: charcoal, matte medium, acid free paper

This piece comes in an earth-friendly frame! The frame itself is made of bamboo which has been stained antique black without chemical solvents or oils and the backing board is made from recycled wood pulp. It is matted in an acid free single matt.

If you have a frame you would rather use for this piece, let me know and I will gladly ship the drawing to you matted and in an acid-free sleeve. I'll also change the price of the drawing to $40 USD.
