This little lady is having her first dance recital. She is a little nervous and scared. She is 9 1/2 inches tall. Her tutu is four layers of fluffy green tulle. Her face is flannel and drawn with fabric ink. Her hair is black french knots tied with a little green silk ribbon bow. Her colors are black, green and a touch of pink. She is my own design.

This is for the black and green doll only!

Vintage Flower Embroidery

I found these great Vintage pins on Etsy at http://castawaythoughts.etsy.com. I thought there must be something creative I could do with them. This pin is wooden and stained a dark brown.
The story goes that Helen made the pins and had them in a local (SoCal) department store. Indeed, some of them still have the price tag from Buffums--akin to Macy's. The back of the pins are signed by Helen.

This piece is framed in a 9 X 5" oval hoop with a 1" ruffle gathered around the hoop. The leaves and stem are an olive green wool felt that are appliqued on the fabric. The pin is the flower that I have sewn on for extra security. It is glued firmly in the hoop. I don't recommend hanging this piece in direct sunlight as the cotton fabric will fade. It's a unique piece with a little bit of history!

Sweet Cherries

These Sweet Cherries are framed in a 4" embroidery hoop. The work is done on a piece of ecru linen. The cherries are little wooden beads that I have wrapped in burgundy embroidery floss. They are hanging from green floss that I have braided and secured into the cherries. The green wool felt leaves are appliqued on the linen. I have backed this piece with muslin. It is glued very securely in the hoop. This is my own design.

This little Tree House is only 9 1/2" tall, including the Lil Elf on the roof! It is about 3 1/2" wide. The little house is completely hand embroidered, hand sewn and a one of a kind, designed by me! It is made from icy blue wool felt and constructed around a styrofoam cone. The roof is a half of a styrofoam ball that has been covered in white muslin, coated in Fabric Snow Tex and sprinkled with crystal glitter. 3 ice cycles hang from the roof. A Lil Elf is sitting on the roof with his snowballs!
The white front door has been edged in tinsel trim and features a sequin and pearl wreath with a grey silk ribbon bow. A curly silver metallic bow frames the front door.
The house features four creamy windows that have been edged in tinsel trim. On the side of the house there is a silver tree that has been stitched onto the house and adorned with white snowflakes. There are 3 white pine trees, with light blue stars that are sewn on. A little banner hangs from the house that is beaded around the edge. The bottom of the house is edged with fabric Snow Tex and crystal glitter.
The sturdy ladder has 5 steps is constructed of dowels which I have covered in icy blue wool felt and wrapped in tinsel trim. There are 2 Lil Elves climbing on the ladder. Everything is permanently attached, except for the ladder.

I started collecting old neck-ties a few years ago, I love all the patterns and the colors, I figured sooner or later I would come up with a brilliant idea to do something with them, and so the Necktie Lady was born. Her dress is made from the front of the necktie, I saved the label and reattached it to the front of the dress. Her arms and legs are jute that have been wrapped in necktie strips. Her bow is double-sided and has been stiffened with iron-on pellon and adorned with a navy blue rose. Her wool felt face is hand embroidered with a touch of blush and some lovely blue button eyes! She is my own design, and I think she is quite lovely! This pillow measures 15 by 18 inches. The background color is a Robin's Egg Blue denim with navy rick rack trim. Spot clean only! Sure to add a touch of whimsy to your home or cottage!

Tree House Number 4

This little Tree House is only 8" tall, including the Lil Mossie on the roof! It is about 3 1/2" wide. The little house is completely hand embroidered, hand sewn and a one of a kind, designed by me! It is made from mottled red wool felt and constructed around a styrofoam cone. The roof is a half of a styrofoam ball that has been covered in mottled red wool felt and Spanish moss. A Lil Mossie relaxes on the roof. The house features three windows with black wool felt window boxes that are packed with white silk ribbon flower embroidery. Ivy, done in silk ribbon embroidery accents the front door and the upper window, which has little black shutters. A Lil Mossie that is removable, is swinging from a tire swing that is attached to the roof. The bottom of the house is edged with embroidered grass and white laisy daisy flowers. A little banner hangs from the house that is beaded around the edge.

Everything, with the exception of the Lil Mossie on the swing is permanately attached!

There is a lot of detail, and it is quite an enchanting little piece.

This little Tree House is haunted and is about 10 1/4" tall, including the Lil Vampire on the roof! It is about 3 1/2" wide. The little house is completely hand embroidered, hand sewn and a one of a kind, designed by me! It is made from dark plum wool felt and constructed around a styrofoam cone. The roof is a half of a styrofoam ball that has been covered in dark periwinkle wool felt and Spanish moss. A bright yellow full moon with a flying bat and a Lil Vampire are attached to the roof. The house features four windows, each with a creepy little character. A Lil Witch with her broom are attached to the roof. The bottom of the house is edged with embroidered grass, pumkins and a tombstone. On the side of the house is a big old tree with crimson leaves. Everything is permanately attached!

They made from 2 layers of fabric, the top layer is a chocolate Joel Dewberry woodgrain fabric and the inside layer is muslin. This whimsical little garland features three fairies holding hands. The color are a variety of mauve, pumpkin, and blue. This little Tree House is only 9 1/2" tall, including the Lil Mossie on the roof! It is about 3 1/2" wide. The little house is completely hand embroidered, hand sewn and a one of a kind, designed by me! It is made from dark sage wool felt and constructed around a styrofoam cone. The roof is a half of a styrofoam ball that has been covered in sage wool felt and Spanish moss. A Lil Mossie relaxes on the roof. The house features four windows with aqua window boxes that are packed with silk ribbon flower embroidery. On the side of the house there is a shade tree and each leaf is finished with a blanket stitch. The sturdy ladder has 5 steps is constructed of dowels which I have covered in sage wool felt. There are 2 Lil Mossies climbing on the ladder. At the bottom of the house there are 5 appliqued mushrooms and embroidered grass. A little banner hangs from the house that is beaded around the edge. Everything is permanently attached, except for the ladder.

I started collecting old neck-ties a few years ago, I love all the patterns and the colors, I figured sooner or later I would come up with a brilliant idea to do something with them, and so the Necktie Lady was born. Her burgundy dress is made from the front of the necktie, I saved the label and reattached it to the front of the dress. Her arms and legs are jute that have been wrapped in necktie strips. Hannah is 4 1/2" long and 3 1/2" wide. Her body is light blue wool felt that has been sewn together by machine. She has light green wool felt dots that have been hand appliqued on. Her eyes are a white and blue beads and she has a lovely stripe satin bow attached to her head. She has a little wired, curly tail. Hannah doesn't have to be a pinchushion, she would be a cute little addition to a nursery or for the pig collector! She is stuffed very firmly with PolyFil.

Hannah is made from a vintage pattern I found in a Woman's Day book last published in 1975.

This little Mossie is wearing a hand-embroidered top made of a cream wool felt. The embroidery is done in white floss. Her sleeves are edged with pearls, with pearl buttons. Her skirt is made from six layers of silk flower petals. Her face is hand painted and her hair is white wool roving topped with an acorn cap. She is holding a metal "Dream" sign that is tied with cream silk ribbon. She is attached to a disk that I painted green and topped in moss. She is about 4 1/2" tall.
My "Mossies" are derived from a Salley Mavor pattern.

My little Granny stands about 3 3/4" tall. She is attached to a round disc that is painted green and covered in moss. Her face is hand-painted and her hair is light grey wool roving that is braided. Little Red Riding Hood stands about 4 1/2" tall. She is wearing a red wool felt bonnet and cape that is embroidered in red floss. Her bonnet is tied with a red silk ribbon bow. Her top is white wool felt that has green and red embroidery. Red's khaki wool felt skirt is embroidered in red and green floss. She is carrying a basket of "goodies" to take to her beloved Granny. Her face is handpainted and her hair is brown wool roving. She is attached to a round disk that is painted green and covered in moss. She took about 5 hours to complete and is made completely by hand.

These Sweet Cherries are framed in a 4" embroidery hoop. The work is done on white Salem cloth. The cherries are little wooden beads that I have wrapped in pink embroidery floss. They are hanging from green floss that I have braided and secured into the cherries. The green wool felt leaves are appliqued on the linen. The cherries are tied in a pink silk ribbon bow. I have backed this piece with muslin. It is glued very securely in the hoop. The hoop is edged in an apple green rick rack. This is my own design.

I started collecting old neck-ties a few years ago, I love all the patterns and the colors, I figured sooner or later I would come up with a brilliant idea to do something with them, and so the Necktie Lady was born. Her yellow and blue dress is made from the front of the necktie, I saved the label and reattached it to the front of the dress. Her arms and legs are jute that have been wrapped in necktie strips.
