Potted Torch Cactus Needlefelted Pincushion

This petite green cactus will collect pins when you sew and quilt, or it can just brighten up your space! The cactus sculpture and the “sand” beneath it have been needlefelted using wool roving and a specialized needle with tiny barbs on it. After hundreds of pokes with the needle, the form takes shape and becomes more dense. The tiny flower is also needlefelted and attached through the same process with precision poking.

The pincushion stands about 4¾” tall and 2” across (12 x 5cm), and has a terracotta pot bottom for stability. It is fun to use and is a unique addition to any needlecrafter’s tools. The pins shown are included, but are removable. This is not a toy and should not be given to children.

Ducky Needlefelted Pincushion

Fans of ducks and general cuteness will love to use this handcrafted pincushion. It started as wool roving, a bit of ribbon, and a repurposed metal container. Through the process of needlefelting and imagination, it has been sculpted into this functional and adorable piece.

The duck is securely felted to his perch and gladly holds needles and pins for those who sew, quilt or just need a place to put those pointy things. It can also be used as pure decoration.

The pincushion stands about 2¼” tall and 2” across (5.5 x 5cm), It is fun to use and is a unique addition to any needlecrafter’s tools. The pins shown are included, but are removable. This is not a toy and should not be given to children.

Needlefelting is a process by which wool fibers are tangled with each other by poking the wool hundreds of times with a special needle that has tiny barbs on it. The fibers are manipulated by the needle to sculpt forms. Various colors and pieces are attached using the barbed needle as well, and different techniques can result in dense forms or loose airy ones.
