Lovely vintage Florenza signed brooch (1950's-1960's): Black glass brooch is decorated with a Victorian Style "Lady and Her Gentleman Friend Kissing Her Hand". Brooch is prong-set in an ornate baroque gold tone metal frame. Tons of detail!

Brooch is in excellent vintage condition. Measures 2.25 inches in diameter and about 1/2 inch thick.

This is a sweet brooch of a gold tone bird perched on a branch. The gold is clean and shiny, with texture. Bird's eye is done in green enamel.

In the photos, the second one shows the true colour the best. In places where the finish looks dark, that is light reflecting.

A bit of flaking on the pin, which is otherwise strong and intact. The rest of the brooch is in excellent condition. Unsigned, but has a serial number A 465.

Measures a bit over two inches in any direction.

This listing is for a JUMBO 6.2oz/175gram and 405yards skein. Extra-Large skein is perfect for socks for anybody -- or it is enough for a baby sweater or hat and scarf set, or whatever you can dream up.

Apple of my Sky -- Bright red, mossy greens, hints of chestnut, sky blue, and teal. The colorway came out bright and bold in this DK yarn.

The photos show the yarn before and after I rewind it into a skein. The before photos show the colour blocks; the after photos show the colours distributed the way they will look when knitted.

Super soft luxury merino superwash is sooooo lovely to knit and definitely wearable next to skin. Soft, springy 4-ply DK is versatile for all kinds of projects. I like to knit socks in this weight as they knit up fast and still fit into my shoes.

Mallard: Pretty semi-solid of deep greens and blue-greens, with hints of moss and forest. Reminds me of the show-offy male mallard duck.

100% Wool has a nice sturdy hand and knits up with excellent stitch definition. It is also a terrific felting yarn. Base yarn is Ella Rae Classic Wool, a nice quality worsted similar to Galway.

This brooch is a dazzler! Very well made and in spotless condition, nearly mint. A single large glass amber colored rhinestone is prong set in the center of cascades of dozens of smaller rhinestones.

Beautiful, clear, and sparkling small rhinestones are clear/slightly smoky. Chains of them drape over the amber stone and dangle on either side. Four strands also dangle from the base of the amber stone.

Piece meeasures 3.5 inches long by 2.0 inches across. Strong pin on back; unsigned.

Six markers made with glossy round glass tomato red-orange beads (9mm), and one pressed glass green leaf to mark the beginning of your round.

Markers are small, smooth, and light. I use split rings to reduce snagging and to keep the markers sturdy. Markers come with medium size rings unless you specify a different size choice.

SJK Handspun Merino Worsted -- ColorBlock Scarf Kit (HUGE 9.4oz/265gram skein)

This listing is for the skein of yarn in the photos. I call it a scarf kit because there is certainly enough yarn to knit a nice long scarf, but feel free to express yourself in any other kind of project!

This is something new I tried last week. I spun up varying lengths of colored roving in long single colour repeats. The yarn will stripe in different widths as you knit. Some stripes will be narrow, medium, or long, depending on how much of that color I used. I varied the lengths and shades so that you will end up with a pleasing coordination.

I spun this yarn mostly from commercially dyed, super-soft Ashland Bay Merino. I also added in purple from a hand-dyed roving by Allspunup here at etsy. If you look in the last photo, you'll see the colours all laid out.

Colours: gold, pumpkin, burnt pumpkin, espresso brown, black, purple, sage and olive.

Soft, lofty single ply is spun slightly thick and thin but ends up being a light worsted overall (DK to worsted). I've washed the yarn to set the spin.

100% Merino Wool
265grams/534yards
DK/Worsted: I would knit this on 4.0-5.5mm, depending on how tight my tension is.

Do not machine wash this yarn. This yarn will felt.

Hand wash in lukewarm or cool water; lay flat to dry.

Rosewood: Lovely warm and rich semi-solid of chestnut and rosewood browns. The darker tones have purply-mahogany hints.

Solid and well-made, "antiqued" gold tone round daisy brooch with lots of texture and detailing in the metal. The petals are twisted, filigreed, and speckled. A large green moonglow glass cabochon really glows. Lots of tiny plastic AB rhinestones sparkle on the petals. You even get a spare rhinestone that is mounted on the back of the brooch.

Excellent condition with lots of detail and working pin. Measures just over 2.0 inches across. Unsigned.

Sweet gold tone brooch in the shape of a harp with lots of details: Brooch is textured in the metal work, and has several strands of pearls for the strings. Individual knots between each pearl hold them in place. A pretty row of tiny rhinestones add some bling to the base of the harp.

Measures 2.75 by 2.0 inches; excellent vintage condition.

Fishy Wishy In A Dishy: That was my schoolyard nick-name from Kindergarten to Grade-Three, believe it or not. My family nickname was Minnow (don't ask). At school, and thanks to my older sisters and their friends, it turned into Fishy Wishy in a Dishy. Sigh.

But it is a fantastic colorway of bright goldfish orange and red-orange with white, set against bright sky blue.

This listing is for the skein of yarn in the photos. It is a big 180gram/312yds skein of beautiful soft and squishy Merino and Blue Face Leicester 2-ply.

Arizona: great range of earthy rusts, browns, tans, moss, peach, yellow, greens, turquoise, purple. Gorgeous! One ply is a merino roving dyed by Frecklefacefibers and the other is BFL, dyed by limegreenjelly (both here at etsy).

I spun and plied the two together to create this unique yarn. Yarn will stripe in a rustic striping as handspuns do.

2-ply ranges from sport to aran and evens out at worsted. It is soft, squishy, and bouncy. I've washed the yarn to set the spin.

I like making these extra large skeins of yarn so that you have more choices about what to knit.

Sports Car Green: Zoom Zoom! Mazda came out with the sporty little Miata many moons ago, and we all thought it was wonderful. My favorite colour in that car was British Racing Car Green. It was a green so deep, it was nearly black. This colorway picks up those deep midnight green tones and many many shades in between, including flashes of lime.

This listing is for the skein of yarn in the photos. It is a JUMBO skein of beautiful soft and squishy Merino and Falkland 2-ply (220grams/425yds).

Green's A Buddy: Green is such a good pal to other colours. In this case: yellows, other greens, royal and deep teal blue, purple, red, and orange. I spun this yarn from two rovings.

I dyed the Falkland roving in a whole range of greens and plied it with a multi-colored merino roving dyed in Uruguay (that luscious Malabrigo-soft merino). The resulting yarn is squishy soft yet strong, and has a bit of Falkland sheen. Gorgeous!

I spun this one a bit lighter than my usual DK/Worsted two-ply yarns, so it comes out at Sport/DK and with tons of yardage for all sorts of projects, including socks. I've washed the yarn to set the spin.

You get a set of six stitch markers made by yours truly:

Five beautiful foiled glass amethyst colored rounds, and a gorgeous foiled amethyst glass round marker. Foil pattern looks like peacock feather spots, and is visible on both sides of bead.

Round beads are 10mm in diameter; foiled glass marker bead is 3/4 inch (2cm) across.

I use split rings to keep the markers sturdy and to avoid snagging. The rings will fit up to 5.5mm needles, unless you specify a different size.

I now have five sizes of split rings for stitch markers:

The Lettuce Lesson: When my husband and I were first married, I discovered that he did not know there were different kinds of lettuce. Ice-berg was the only kind he had met. We still laugh when we remember "the lettuce lesson" in which I brought him up to speed on all the other lettuces out there.

Green Tea: Beautiful semi-solid colorway of chartreuse-type (yellow-based) greens.

The base yarn is 100% wool that has been mercerized. This is the process used to make wool yarns satiny, smooth and machine washable. This yarn is merino soft and has a lovely hand and drape, and excellent stitch definition. I have knit with it myself, and it is lovely.

I love to knit chunky mitts in hand spun yarn. This yarn was spun by Hobbledehoy here at Etsy. It came in yellows and oranges and sparkle. I overdyed it into these purples, blues, and browns. The sparkle shows up coppery and so pretty against the darker colours.

Super soft and squishy 100% Merino wool with a bit of sparkle.

Handwash gently (no scrubbing/wringing) in cool or lukewarm; lay flat to dry

How I Knit All My Mitts:

These mitts are knit with bulky yarn to keep your hands nice and warm. I knit my mitts in the round, so they are all one piece with no seams. They have ribbed cuffs to keep them snug around the wrist, and the thumbhole is neat and tidy.

They fit my medium sized hands. They would fit a somewhat smaller or bigger hand than mine. They are too snug for my husband but he has large man ham-hands. They might fit up to men's medium or slender hands.

Stunning and Tons of Bling! This is a pair of clip-on earrings in excellent vintage condition. They are in mint condition, actually, and I think never worn.

Signed Butler (Mark Butler of Fifth Avenue Collection, a Canadian company). Most likely 1970's or 1980's. I'm thinking 1980's as they have a Princess Diana look about them.

High quality, solid and sturdy with strong clips. Earrings are shaped like spades or drops, with tons of tiny rhinestones surrounding a rich purple abalone inset. They measure 1.25 inches in either direction.

This is an amazing pair of earrings that would be wonderful as part of a wedding outfit or for another fancy occasion.

These are large and substantial, heavy, but with strong sturdy clips. Shiny gold-tone setting with lots of dimensional texture and detail, and loads of rhinestones. There are 44 individually set tiny rhinestones and one large central rhinestone in each earring. Earrings measure 1.5 to 1.75inches across in either direction.

Back when Etsy was new, littleputbooks here at etsy made a name for herself by making and selling beautiful Scrabble Tile pendants. When she moved on from that, I bought up a listing of her stock that she was selling off.

Plum and Rosewood: Warm rosewood browns with plum/lilac purples (and blush/brown purples). Lovely semi-solid with broad range of subtle colour shifts.

The base yarn is 100% wool that has been mercerized. This is the process used to make wool yarns satiny, smooth and machine washable. This yarn is merino soft and has a lovely hand and drape, and excellent stitch definition. I have knit with it myself, and it is lovely.

SJK VINTAGE -- Enamel Swoosh Choker in Tomato-Red, Gold, and Rhinestones

This is a fun and perky piece from the 1970's when this style of choker was very popular.

Supple, wide flat goldtone chain in a chevron style on either side of a bright tomato-red swoosh. Center piece is very detailed with an inset studded with tiny rhinestones. The clasp is also pretty cool -- box clasp with an enamel bracket on either side.

Chain is 6.25 inches long on either side of a 3.5 inch wide center piece. Total circumference is about 16.5 inches.

Very Good vintage condition with a chain that feels like liquid metal (very comfy). Unsigned.

Bordeaux: Rich semi-solid of wine-grape purples with blue undertones. I dyed and spun the roving in lux BFL wool. This is one of my Tour de Fleece yarns, spun during the Tour de France bicycle event.

I spun it up in a 2-ply that ranges from sport to DK. It is soft, squishy, and bouncy. I've washed the yarn to set the spin. Tons of yardage!

SJK VINTAGE -- AJC Signed Brooch Shaped Like a Jumbo Pearl and Rhinestone Ring

AJC (American Jewelry Chain Co.) signed brooch is likely from the 1970's or 1980's. It is NOS (new old stock), never used, and in mint condition.

Chunky brooch is in the shape of a ring with a huge pearl setting surrounded by nine sparkling rhinestones. Very shiny and smooth, gorgeous quality.

Brooch measures 1.75 inches across the ring, and 2.0 inches from bottom of ring to top of pearl. Pearl is a bit over .75 inches in diameter.

This piece is too thick to mail in my cheaper flat pack mailer; I have to mail it at the yarn package rate. I am happy to combine shipping if you buy other items (this shipping can cover several vintage pieces, or the piece can ride along for free with yarn).

How I Knit All My Mitts:

These mitts are knit with bulky yarn to keep your hands nice and warm. I knit my mitts in the round, so they are all one piece with no seams. They have ribbed cuffs to keep them snug around the wrist, and the thumbhole is neat and tidy.

They fit my medium sized hands. They would fit a somewhat smaller or bigger hand than mine. They are too snug for my husband but he has large man ham-hands. They might fit up to men's medium or slender hands.

**This yarn is dyed to stripe in skinny stripes for small projects like socks or mitts. The pooling effect on other types of knitting might not be to your liking**

This listing is for 100grams of yarn that comes to you in a set of two 50g skeins. Total yardage is 260 yards. I have one 100gram bundle listed here and more in stock. I am also open to listing a 150gram bundle if you need that instead (and while stock lasts).

Lime and Pinksicle: I dyed this yarn to stripe in skinny lime green and bright pink stripes. The stripe effect will work for socks and gloves.

I knit the sock in the photos by casting on 52 stitches on 3.25mm needles. I knit a plain sock that fits my size-8 (women's) foot. The leg measures 7 inches to the heel flap. Sock required 45 grams of yarn to knit. With that number of stitches, the stripes vary from one to two rounds wide, so a smaller project will stripe wider (ie. child socks or glove fingers), and a larger project will stripe skinnier -- or not at all.

Key chain is very sweet: Glass rectangle with an image of a yellow and blue fish suspended inside. You can see it from both sides of the glass. Measures one inch (2.5cm) by 1.25 inches (3.2cm) by 3/8 inch (1cm) thick. This would make a great gift!

I dyed Falkland roving in this combination of chocolate brown, wine reds and purples, and rose reds. When spun it looked like maraschino cherries all whirled in a blender.

Falkland is soft, lofty, and has a nice sheen. This one is somewhat thick'n thin but evens out at heavy-worsted or light bulky.

Picture soft mitts, a hat, or a neckwarmer. I've washed the yarn to set the spin.

This listing is for the skein of yarn in the photos. It is a JUMBO 225grams/473yards skein of beautiful soft and squishy Merino 2-ply.

Midnight Princess: A wide range of denim blues through deep navy and midnight blue, with sections of princessy blue, pink, and lavender.

I spun this yarn from two different Merino rovings. One was a handpainted Uruguayan merino roving (similar to Malabrigo); the other was dyed by Cloudlover here at etsy. I spun and plied the two together to create this unique yarn. Yarn will stripe in a rustic striping as handspuns do.

2-ply ranges from sport to worsted but evens out at Dk-Worsted. It is soft, squishy, and bouncy. I've washed the yarn to set the spin.

I like making these extra large skeins of yarn so that you have more choices about what to knit.

Sports Car Green: Zoom Zoom! Mazda came out with the sporty little Miata many moons ago, and we all thought it was wonderful. My favorite colour in that car was British Racing Car Green. It was a green so deep, it was nearly black. This colorway picks up those deep midnight green tones and many many shades in between, including an eye-popping lime to make it flash.

Base yarn is ever popular Lamb's Pride Worsted wool and mohair yarn. It is spun up into a soft but sturdy single ply that has a light halo and lots of loft. Excellent for knitting and felting.

One or two skeins will make a pair of cozy socks or felted slippers. Also great for hats, mitts, scarves, bags, sweaters, whatever you can think of.

Beautiful vintage bracelet is in absolutely mint condition. Gold tone metal links in what looks like a Greek pattern alternate with square links set with genuine tiger eye stones. Clasp is strong and works great. Total length is 7.5 inches. Square Tiger Eye links measure 3/4 inch across.

Piece is unsigned and unmarked. Most likely from 1960's or 1970's.

You get a set of six stitch markers made by yours truly:

Five beautiful lentil-shaped turquoise and earthtone colored porcelain bead markers, and one that is larger to mark your round.

These are small, smooth and light. The little ones are 9-10mm across, and the bigger one is 14mm across.

I use split rings to keep the markers sturdy and to avoid snagging. The rings will fit up to 5.5mm needles, unless you specify a different size.

I now have five sizes of split rings for stitch markers:

This listing is for the skein of the yarn in the photos. I dyed the roving myself and spun it up into a light and lofty single. This is a big 160gram/312yard skein.

Apple of My Sky: Bright apple red with clear sky blue; some earthy greens and browns to balance things out.

Next-to-skin soft falkland wool is spun thick and thin. It comes out at a worsted overall. Picture soft mitts, a hat, or a neckwarmer. I've washed the yarn to set the spin.

I have a total of five of these bundles. If you need more yardage for your project, please convo, and I will set it up for you. The skein bundles vary slightly in shade as I dyed the yarn in small batches, but they would go together well in a larger project, especially by alternating balls.

Stormy Seas: Lovely deep sea blues, greens, teals, with hints of leaf green, and rich chestnut browns. The sea is in a mood tonight.

Shabby Chic Goth Brooch: in patinated gold tone with black plastic cabochons.

The metal bits are what really set this off. It's gold tone that has aged and "discolored" but in an interesting effective way. The metal coloring gives a weathered silver-gold-brass-pink look to a very detailed and nicely made piece.

Black plastic cabs are scuffed.

Somewhat decroded, but with its heart in the right place, this piece still manages to look very cool. Measures 1.5 inches wide by just over 3.0 inches long. Strong pin. Unsigned.

This would look stunning at the collar of a ruffled blouse or pirate outfit, but it would be equally at home on a hat or bag.

Four adorable lampwork glass kitty-cats in the colours shown, and two millefiori glass heart markers.

Lampwork cats have faces showing on both sides of the bead. Approx. 10mm by 11mm. Heart beads are 8mm.

These markers are small, smooth, and light. I use split rings to keep the markers sturdy and to avoid snagging. The rings will fit up to 5.5mm needles, unless you specify a different size.
