"L'Orchidée" Necklace is my abstract idea of what the anatomy of an orchid would look like if translated to gemstones.
The inner most part of the orchid is represented by a vintage 1950's golden-orange rhinestone bead (an enormous 25mm!).
The gemstone neckline and "would be" petals surrounding this glistening centerpiece include faceted citrine briolettes, faceted citrine cubes, faceted hessonite briolettes, faceted whiskey quartz rondelles, faceted citrine heart briolettes, tiny pale lemon citrine rondelles, deep purple faceted amethyst onion briolettes, and faceted amethyst rondelles. The rutilated quartz used in this necklace took my breath away when I first held it in my hand. The entire briolette is a pale, clear champagne except for one single, extraordinary burst of golden rutile spikes at its base. Truly amazing! Held up to the light, it appears as if a tiny star has exploded within the quartz, giving it a magical quality.
The "Lacene" is composed the above mentioned rutilated quartz briolette - a smooth-polished, ENORMOUS 73 Ctw gemstone measuring 32mm x 28mm. The unusual gem has been accented with clusters of carved garnet "leaves", faceted champagne quartz rondelles, faceted smoky quartz rondelles, faceted Oregon sunstone rondelles, and faceted scapolite rondelles. Yes, it is ALL about chocolate!
Autumn is here and it conjures memories of shopping with my best friend, Erin years ago when we lived near a shopping mall with a Godiva chocolate shop! Mmmmmmmmm!!! We used to stand in the gilded storefront staring at the hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries, the liquor truffles, and their infamous ganache-filled chocolate seashells. Oh my! We would wait until we were exhausted from window shopping, laughing, walking, and reminiscing and treat ourselves to a luscious Godiva chocolate truffle. We giggled like little girls standing outside the candy shop eating our confections bite after tiny bite...joking about how the answer to a "good life" was simply to indulge in chocolate every day. Not such a bad idea, huh?
Here's my gemstone "ode" to all the ladies out there who love cherry cordials, dark chocolate caramels, champagne truffles, and don't give a damn about the calories (well, at least pretend not to).
The "Godiva" necklace is a statement necklace - one that will garner many many adoring glances! This gorgeous necklace is composed of enormous, smoky quartz faceted nuggets, flawless faceted golden citrine nuggets, faceted heart-shaped garnets, faceted deep red garnet briolettes, smooth-polished deep merlot garnet rondelles, and tiny faceted garnet rondelles. The focal point is an absolutely stunning vintage pocket watch-style locket (C.1950's -1960's mint condition)that is encrusted with layers of garnet rhinestones. The "Lucienne" necklace reminds me of Autumn in Upstate NY. One week the leaves will be bright hues of red, gold, and orange...a week later it can look like the perfect snowy postcard complete with icicles hanging from tree branches.
This necklace is inspired by those rapid changes I witness when I do truly take time to cherish these natural wonders right outside my window.
The "Lucienne" features a large faceted rock crystal quartz briolette that has been accented with clusters of faceted tourmaline rondelles in bright shades of pink, green, sepia, gold, and blue. The pendant hangs from a hand linked chain made from faceted rock crystal quartz rondelles, faceted tourmaline rondelles, faceted rock crystal quartz ovals, and 24K vermeil findings. A toggle clasp finishes the necklace.

New to the Heirloom Collection for the Holiday season is the "Brigita" Bracelet.
This bracelet is completely hand-fabricated from hand forged fine silver headpins, faceted smoky quartz rondelles, faceted slate blue mystic topaz rondelles, smooth-polished plum quartz briolettes, and faceted hot pink tourmaline rondelles. The toggle has been accented with a vintage white goldfill Art Deco locket (C. 1930's) that opens to reveal two photo frames. The locket does appear to have some sort of initials stamped on the front, but the font is so, well..."Deco" in style that it appears to be more of the design rather than any obvious letters. The rest of the locket face has the traditional faint 'pinstriping' and 'fauna' etched into the metal. The locket is in excellent condition aside from a faint yellow glow that has developed over time. I do not clean my vintage pieces - I leave that up to you to decide to do. Some customers love to keep the aged patina and some like to polish the pieces shiny, so I leave the choice in your hands.
This is a very lovely and elegant bracelet - sure to become a favorite family heirloom!
