Lots of white with blue squares and rectangles thrown in for spots of pattern and color make this quilt unique and more artistic than most baby quilts.

I love both sides of this quilt, but the back just makes my heart skip a beat. The tree fabric and the two-toned blue fabric are from Ikea and are just fantastic.

The quilting is done with horizontal and vertical straight lines, added randomly, sometimes alone and sometimes in groups of two or three or more.

Sweet simplicity.

The quilt consists of bands of a wonderful bee and flower fabric and stripes of pieced greens and yellows.

The quilting is done with free-motion stippling on the tan fabric and lots of straight lines on the greens and yellows. Tan thread was used throughout the top, pale green on the backside.

The backside is a super soft yellow stripe (amazingly soft), a bit of the bee fabric, and green daisy cotton.

The batting is an organic cotton.

Custom Team or School Colors Quilt, Twin Size ... you choose the colors

This particular quilt was created for a recent high school graduate who is attending the University of Florida. I wanted to make something that represented the school colors without screaming "Go Gators" (not that I have anything against the Gators).

I can make a similar quilt for just about any combination of school colors. (Do note though that I will use a variety of colors similar to the team colors ... gold will be golds and yellows, crimson will use crimsons, dark reds, burgandy, and other reds).

Created from a variety of 3" squares the colors flow from each end, meeting in the middle.

The backside is created from a coordinating fabric (a plaid flannel for this one). The binding is handstitched on the backside to give the quilt a very polished look.

The quilt is quilted with tacking stitches at the intersections of the seams.

I use either an organic cotton batting or bamboo/cotton blend batting.

Perfect for a twin-sized dorm or teenagers bed, set on the back of a couch, or keeping you warm as you root your team on at the game.

I have been privileged enough to make keepsake, or memory, quilts from baby clothes. These are some of my favorite projects and I'd love the opportunity to make one for you.

I prefer to use 4" or 5" fabric squares for these quilts. Either you can cut them ahead of time or you can send me the fabric and I can cut the squares. If there is a particular part of a piece of fabric you want used, such as an insignia or print, let me know ... it is my pleasure to work to accommodate your needs and wishes ... after all, this is your quilt to cherish for a lifetime.

While woven cottons are best suited for a quilt I can work with knits as well.

If you have a specific fabric you want to use for the backside (often a favorite twin sized sheet) that's great. No particular idea? That's great too, I'll be happy to shop for a coordinating solid for the back.

I can do either wavy or straight edges.

I use either organic cotton or a cotton/bamboo blend batting. All my binding is hand stitched on the backside to give a very polished professional appearance. Quilting stitching can be done a few different ways - random stippling, straight stitches, or tacking where the seams meet.

Quilts can run from crib sized (about 45" square) to lap size (about 50" by 65"). If you have a specific size in mind let me know.

Final price is determined after communicating with the purchaser. To give a basic idea, a crib or toddler bed sized quilt with straight edges and fabric cut by me would be priced from about $70, larger lap quilt pricing begins at $90.

The images here are a few examples of quilts I've made out of clothing. One has a pocket on the backside for a special blanket, and another has the quilting done to resemble a treasure map on the backside.

Such a special quilt! Pretty ... fun ... funky ... unique.

The starting point fabric in this quilt is the black cotton with pink bird and flowers. The blocks are sewn log-cabin style, but are random as tends to be my preference. There are quite a few Anna Maria Horner fabrics mixed into this cheery quilt.The binding is a reddish pink polka dot.

The backside is a red Ikea fabric with a row of blocks to tie in with the front. The quilting is done with a loose wavy freemotion stitch. The batting is a cotton and bamboo blend.

I love the cheeriness of this quilt. It makes my heart sing to look at it.
