The Milky Way original painting

$350.00
16" by 20" mixed media on stretched canvas. The paint and collage wrap around the edges making a frame unneccessary. It has a high gloss varnish on it. It comes wired and ready to hang.

I've been working on this for quite some time, putting it aside for a while and thinking about it. This piece comes from a sense of wonder at the fragility and smallness of my place on earth in such an infinite universe. I just finished a novel called "Beautiful Miscellaneous." In it a scientist who didn't believe in God, wrote a letter to God explaining why he doubted his unbelief. One of the reasons was, that no one could explain how gravity exists. So after finishing that book, I came up with another really corny name for this painting, "Raise Your Hand If You Understand Gravity."

The staples are on the back, making a frame unneccessary. It will come wired and ready to hang. The second and third photo are examples to show the chunky shape of the painting.

This was a thrift store find. I liked it's retro modern shape, especially when placed on the vintage striped fabric.

This vibrant painting has been featured on Etsy's front page!

I will wire this so it is ready to hang without a frame, a fresh, contemporary look. It would also look great with a frame.

I wanted to catch how these great zinnias looked with the light streaming in on them. What made it even better for me is how they grew in our garden! They somehow survived our hot summer and neglect while we were out of town.

This will come wired, varnished and ready to hang, no frame necessary.

I've enjoyed using a lot of texture with thick paint and a contrast of warm and cool colors lit with bright summer sunlight.

We grew these cherry tomatoes in our yard. These are some of the few that I got to paint (and later eat) A squirrel made off with the others and now I have none left.

Thanks for looking! I have been painting for many years, mostly in the still life tradition, hoping to share my delight with the overlooked beauty of everyday things. Here is a print of one of my favorite paintings of a vintage, blue and white teapot. For me, the pink umbrella creates a festive, happy mood. The image of the little pink party umbrella is approximately 8 inches square with a narrow white border, unmatted, unframed.

This giclee was printed with archival Epson inks on Epson Enhanced Matte Paper that is rated to last 76 years when under glass. It will be mailed in a sturdy cardboard mailer in a waterproof bag.

Please contact me if you have any questions. I have a blog at pollyjones.blogspot.com if you want to learn more about my work.
Wired and ready to hang without a frame.

I loved how the colors of the peach looked on the old blue willow bowl. This favorite bowl has taken on a delicious patina as it has aged.

This size painting is great for leanting on the counter in a kitchen.

This painting comes wired and ready to hang without a frame. It has a 3/4 inch edge, painted white. It would also look great framed.

This painting has a lot of energy. I used brushwork to carve out the forms and the color is intense. I've used the teal blue and lime green background fabric because of the swirling field it creates and a vintage Vera scarf of wild oranges and yellows to contrast with the green glass vase. Usually I paint irises in a more serene atmosphere but I liked immersing their forms in a vibrant setting this time.

This price is marked down from $375

Luckily no one disturbed them so I was able to paint them a couple of days ago. A lot of times some of my best still life possibilities get eaten.

This painting became about light chasing shadow, warm and cool, and groups.

Custom Tile Mural by Polly Jones

The process for a commission tile mural begins with a drawing based on your imput along with photo's of the mural setting. At that stage, if you like the emailed picture of the drawing and want me to go forward with the commission, I would ask for a non-refundable down payment of $250.

The first photograph shows the color before the heat finishing process. The second photo shows the entire piece with the final color.

You may either send me your tiles or tell me which ones to purchase from a major home improvement center. I 'll send photographs during the process of the painting to make sure I'm headed in the right direction. Once you approve of the final photo of the piece and pay the remaining $250 plus shipping, I'll mail it.

These tiles are not installed on a board (by me). The paint I use is a specialty paint designed for use on porcelain and terra cotta that is baked in an oven. It's made to be dishwasher safe and both solvent and frost resistant.

International orders welcome! I'll charge exact shipping with insurance.

The panel has a 1 inch profile and comes ready to hang on a wire, without a frame.

This is part of my series of Post Eden paintings. I have a variety of images I've merged in order to express the delight I find in exploring my spiritual quest through the humble still life. Here I have juxtaposed an iris and daffodil from my back yard with a painted tray, circles from a reproduction of Giotto paintings from the life of Jesus and moth and butterfly imagery. I hope my use of color expresses the joy that is part of the process.

I will gladly ship internationally. If you are interested in purchasing, just email your mailing info and I will figure out the exact postage.

This will come wired, varnished and ready to hang, no frame necessary.

I tried this one with a more subdued palette but somehow it demanded an acid yellow green and this lovely assertive aqua blue.

See more work and read about my process at http://pollyjones.blogspot.com/

I am having a special free shipping for returning collectors until Christmas. I loved how they posed, especially the front one that has diva like qualities.

$800.00
Acrylic on wooden panel 35 inches by 24 inches. It is wired and ready to hang without a frame.

This was painted from life, tomatoes from a friends luscious vegetable garden, down the street. The purple glass bowl is one of my favorites to paint because of it's wonderful color and reflective quality. Red and purple are so extravagant together!

The circles are raised wooden discs that have been collaged with a wrapping paper that has a pattern of flowers and butterflies and moths on them. I use this grid as an expression of the wondrous order amidst chaos to be found. It is a reference to Eden and the spiritual dimension that is possible amidst daily life.

I will be glad to ship internationally. If you are interested, just convo me your info so I can get a quote on shipping charges.

They will come wired and ready to hang. You can even rearrange them as the mood strikes.

I have an ongoing series of paintings centered around juxtaposing weeds and flowers with still life. It's how I express the beauty found living in an imperfect world. This one has a Queen Ann's Lace flower skeleton in the middle with a prairie dodder weed image on the right. The title is taken from one of my favorite Laurie Anderson songs.

Wired and ready to hang without a frame.

I did this painting in 2005. My still life set up of the Wesson oil bottle and the glass pitchers evolved into a musing about how something like crude oil determines politics. This was part of the serendipity of juxtaposing map circles from the mideast onto the painting.
