Ashmine Erz - a bookGoddess for your book

$15.00
She is completely fabulous and ready to be your bookGoddess in whatever you are currently reading - or intend to read in the future. For those dull slogs - you need encouragment and for the exciting ride through a tense adventure, you need assurances that everything will be okay. Ashmine Erz will provide all that for you AND will keep your place in the book while you're away.

9.25" X 2.5" (235mm X 65mm) she is just the right size to be your bookmark. But so stylish yet sensible. From her polka dot batik fabric hat (with gold tassles!) and her thick blonde, red and black hair (upholstery fabric)down to her sensible black shoes (paint)she is READY to go. Her brown tweed dress is all common sense and she wears an apron (white paint) in case things get messy and a bit of an orange shawl around her waist (paper) in case she gets cold. Finally, an underskirt of black and bronze will provide that extra layer just in case... just in case you're reading a bodice ripper.

I molded her face from play doh which I painted, when dry, to resemble ancient metal with a blue and pink irredescent shine. Altogether, she is lovely and ready to go to work as your best bookmark ever.

Meiko Math - a bookGoddess for your book

$15.00
Meiko is bright, colorful and modern. Does she like Math? Maybe - you can find out by sticking her in your math book and see how she does to inspire you with your answers.

I molded Meiko's face from Model Magic, and then carefully, painstakingly painted it to resemble aged metal - with an irredscent sheen. Her hat is bits of fabric and her hair is blue thread -- which picks up the blue in her dress - taken from an old calendar onto which I've doodled - I have recycled old materials into something useful that will roll with you (check out her wheels!) through many reading adventures.

Many people frame these but she is just a bookmark and will greatly enhance your reading hours - or your wall. Your call. She makes a perfect gift for someone special (who likes to read) and if you convo me --- I can ship direct to them and include a message from you.

9.2" tall X 2.5" wide (231mm X 65mm) - on thick cardstock, all elements applied with acid free adhesive. The background is something I painted, photographed and printed out -- adding some extra bits of paper and dots of paint to create texture and interest. Altogether I think you'll find it's even more fabulous than the photographs.

Bryn Bo Bane - a bookGoddess for your book

$15.00
Bryn Bo Bane is an especially fearless bookmark, ready to go on all your reading adventures with you. Her heavy black boots will help her slog through virtually ANY literary work with the greatest of ease.

Her hat is glued on so she won't make you stop reading every time her hat blows off... it won't blow off! Ever. Her hair is a bit of colorful yarn which should prove to you that she is up for anything you care to read. I molded her face of playdoh and then painted it to look like ancient metal - tarnished by years of wear when in reality, she is quite new and completely eager to be off on reading adventures with you - or your favorite bookwomrm.
Her dress is various bits of paper from a shirt of brown and tan herringbone, a colorful striped belt, a multi-layered skirt which shows that Bryn Bo Bane knows about the wisdom of dressing in layers for warmth.

9.25" X 2.5" (235mm X 65mm) she is on thick cardstock and ready to be your favorite bookmark!

Mariel Jewel - a bookGoddess for your book

$15.00
Mariel is ready to be the best bookmark you've ever had. She's ready with a sensible plaid hat (fabric) trimmed with cheerful, multi-colored tassels - just in case what you're reading is dour and dull and you've need of visual refreshment. Then there is Mariel Jewel wedged into the back pages of your open book - bestowing wave after wave of calm belevolence upon your reading hours.

9.25" tall and 2.5" wide (238mm X 65mm) she is just the right side for a bookmark AND has wheels - what could be handier than that?! I molded her face from playdoh which I then painted to look like a bit of ancient bronze as befits a goddess. Her only concession to glitz is the gold glitter at her neck and long, elegant earrings. Sometimes all that glitters is not gold - it's glitter!

Her dress is a recycled bit of old calendar which I painted and scraped with both black paint and metallic gold to create for Mariel, the most wonderful dress. All is glued to heavy cardstock so that years of reading enjoyment can ensue - the minute you buy her.

Kelleen - a bookGoddess for your book

$15.00
Bookmarks hold your place - sometimes they're pretty too. Kelleen will hold your place, she's very pretty and stylish and devine and an original work of art - for your book. Sophisticated and urban also come to mind when describing her. I molded her face from playdoh and then painted it to resemble an ancient bronze with pink cheeks. Her tunic is cut from an arts magazine. Her wide pants consist of several layers of paint.. the top black coat partically scraped away to reveal polka dots underneath. Her lacy collar is a bit of old dictionary and her hat is bit of zebra-print fabric. Her hair is metallic silver threads on one side and black, kinky woolen threads on the other. I can't decide if it's hair or tassels of her hat -- and neither can she. She is wearing orange socks (paint) and black flip-flops. Sophisticated yes - but those comfortable shoes tell you she'll merrily tromp along with you through any reading material -- not a snob!

9.25" X 2.5" (234mm X 65mm) total size - this original bookmark is put together on cardstock and durable enough to be used - nice enough to frame or put up in your work space to bestow her calm benevolence to all your daily activities.

Ruby Dirk - a bookGoddess for your book

$15.00
She is a bookmark - that's her humble side. She is also a bookGoddess which isn't to say she's NOT humble on both sides -- but one side is just a bit more divine. But still very useful for holding your place in whatever book you are currently reading - or plan to read at some point in the future. Really, can you imagine a time when Ruby's benevolent presence would not be welcome? Some people frame their bookGoddess - or have them in their workspace or next to their bed. But she is just a bookmark.

9.5" tall X 2.5" (238mm X 65mm) Ruby Dirk is an original artwork (for your book) never to be made again. I molded her face from playdoh which I then painted to resemble ancient bronze - befitting a goddess. Her bonny bonnet is a bit of red tartan plaid fabric with glittery gold accents. It's just the sort of stylish but practical gear that shows she is ready to go with you on a literary stomp across a wind-swept moor or high into the the Scottish Highlands on a moon-lit night in the spring. But her practicality extends to textbooks, manuals and any other reading material you may choose to pick up and read. Her very original (and stylish) dress come from magazine bits (to which I added paint) and some lovely black and silver alligator-print paper for a skirt. Finish it all off with a few strings of pearls (paint) and wheels and now you really have a goddess to serve as your highly suitable reading companion.

If you like her - buy her NOW --- I can never make her again. Those magazine bits in her dress - I used them here and would never be able to find them again.

Or, like so many others, you can frame her or put her on display in your work area or next to your bed to preside silently over your dreaming.

Her hat is three different bits of fabric -- a black and metallic gold, a bit of tartan plaid and finally a swath of rusty red with a dash of orange paint -- plus some gold glitter all combine to make the most wonderful hat imaginable. It's the kind of hat I would wear - if only they made hats this glorious (and bizarre)! I molded her face of playdoh and then painted it when dry to look like an ancient bit of metal. Her tunic is from an old calendar which I scrapped with metallic gold paint around the middle and then at the bottom, sponged with black paint and scribbled into it while still wet. With white paint I added "buttons" and several "pearl necklaces". Her pants are black with purple circles and orange dots. She wears white socks with black flip flops. Althogether, simple elegance and divine servicability is what Tazni offers you.

If you like her, buy her quick as this is one I would be utterly unable to recreate -- even if I wanted to.

Connie Kumar - a bookGoddess for your book

As bookmarks go, Connie is head and shoulders above others - mostly because she has a head... and a stylish colorful hat to put apon it. Two hats - because she put on a colorful beret and then topped it off with a top hat made of newsprint fabric. Out one side stream her lustrous locks - actually not so lustrous - a bit of kinky colorful yarn. Clearly Connie is not afraid of the fashion police! I molded her face of playdoh, then painted it a coppery shade because - true cowgirl - she was in the sun a lot - but with a blue-green patina of age because, she whispers to me, she was only recently made but she's been around forever. And I believe her. Her dress is from a 2005 calendar which I painted partially black and inscribed circles on - for an eye-catching dress. Cowboy boots complete the look which says - I will go on any reading adventure you go on - just take me along! All glued down on sturdy cardstock and ready to be your favorite bookmark.

9.38" X 2.5" (239mm X 65mm) - an original artwork never to be made again.

BOOKmark named Belle Cara

$15.00
Belle Cara is a bookmark - only she has so much funky fun style and grace - she is a bookGoddess! Still however, just a bookmark and I urge you to use her as a bookmark as she will be excellent company in whatever book you are currently reading. Yet, as an original work of art, framing her would not be silly. Or - display her in your work area to provide moral support during your day.

9.25" tall X 2.5" wide (235mm X 65mm) Belle Cara is the perfect size to be a bookmark and yet - she is so much more! I molded her face from playdoh which I then painted to look like ancient, well-polished metal. Her hat is a bit of black polka dot fabric with some bright fabric overlaid for a most glorious, funky and stylish chappeau! A few glittery gold accents on her hat (think of them as bells for Belle!) render her very stylish indeed. Her multi-colored hair is a bit of yarn that a wonderful friend bought for me at Salvation Army (I love my friends!!) Her hair cascades down and her hand reaches up, as if to caress a stray lock of hair.

Her tunic is a bit of magazine, onto which I glued some glittery green paper and overlaid that with some glittery gold as a gorgeous scarf - warmth and style both so Belle Cara is prepared for whatever you read. Remember - the key to staying warm is to dress in layers and Belle has done that! Under her funky tunic is a colorful skirt and a plum-colored pair of pants overlaid with lace (white paint).

Wow, she really is ready for anything! Finally, a pair of comfy flip-flops over white socks and you have a bookmark who is fancy enough for something from the New York Times best seller list but casual enough for a textbook or some ratty old paperback from the nickel box at a garage sale. No matter what your reading material, Belle Cara (pretty heart) will radiate calm benevolence upon you in unlimited quantities. What a deal for just $15 bucks!!

Invisible Sun - original mixed media art

$125.00
"Invisible Sun" was created by making a colorful collage which includes some pieces of copper, then masking shapes out and applying black paint, creating a background for the living shapes that emerge. A sunburst shape towards the top is nearly lost in the riot of colors and shapes - thus the title.

The art is 12 X 19, archivally attached to the black mat 18.5" X 25.5" with a foam core backing. READY for you to frame. In perfect condition except for slightly squished corners on the left size - this would be completely covered by the frame you choose. If you want a different mat color, the piece is inserted into vinyl sleeve corners attached to the mat, so you'll have ZERO problems removing the piece from the mat.

This piece is ready to be an interesting piece in whatever room you put it in. It is instantly fun for the eye but also invites closer viewing as some elements are "hidden" in the black paint - enjoy it for many years.

Kylie O'Dell - a bookGoddess

$15.00
She is like a bookmark (and should be used as one) but this bookGoddess - named Kylie O'Dell -- also stands ready to inspire you and accompany you through the pages of any book you read. Some people frame these -- a LOT of people frame their bookGoddess, but they are just bookmarks and Kylie is no different - she just wants to be there as you sail the wild waters of fine literature or trashy novels -- she is even game for textbooks and work-related materials. She is elegant but not a snob - check out those sturdy shoes!

9.25" X 2.5" (234mm X 65mm) - all original elements glued to cardstock. Entirely made by me, Kylie will never be made again so if you like her - BUY HER NOW!

I molded her face from play doh which I painted when dry, to resemble old copper. Some loose threads from a bit of woollen fabric make her hair all black and nicely kinky. Her unusual head covering is made of gold mica chips, under which I tucked some scraps of colorful fabric - as feathers. Her dress is cut from an old calendar which I painted with gold and scraped out circles. She wears pearls (white paint) around both her neck and her hips. When you're a Goddess - you can do what you want! But she is sensible too - sensible socks and shoes - ready to go tromping through whatever you decide to read.

I have several bookGoddess that I use in the books I read and I tell you - having them there is really pleasant. Even if I do say so myself. These make a wonderful gift for that special reader in your life - or for someone who has everything --- I'm betting they don't have one of these!! How about a gift card for a bookstore AND a bookGoddess... now there's a nice gift marking you as an especially thoughtful person of remarkable character, not to mention very attractive too. I'm just guessing about that last bit but it's true, isn't it?!

Printed on 80#card stock with color laser jet printer... image is water-proof and fade resistant. Paint and collage elements are hand applied to add back the fun of the original. THis card is nice enough for framing, but if you mail it, it makes a stunning piece of mail (like a traveling art exhibit)in the hand-embellished translucent vellum envelope... which allows the design to shimmer underneath the address and postage stamp. This card will make a decidedly colorful splash in the mailbox of someone you care about

Bookmark named Bia Cyrine

$15.00
THis bookmark, named Bia Cyrine is so divine - she is a bookGoddess, ready to bestow her unlimited benevolence upon you as you read -- or you can frame her too as she is an entirely original piece of art. But also - works great as a bookmark!

From her black and white hat (paper) with a colorful brim (fabric) and multi-colored hair (yarn), down to her flip flops - Bia is ready to go on all your reading adventures with you. I molded her face from playdoh and then painted it to look like old bronze.

She is not a snob - she'll happily romp with you through a trashy romance, an old spy novel, the greatest novel ever written (Return of the Native, by Thomas Hardy... just my humble opinion) or a textbook if need be. Her tunic is from a book - a journal sort of thing and it serves as a reminder that all great books began (probably) with a writer somewhere scribbling things down in a highly messy and disorganized fashion. Her skirt is a bit of art paper that matches her hat - she is quite stylish! Finally a bit of black paint makes the black pants that finish her ensemble - remember, those layers mean she is dressed for any sort of adventure you take her on whether it's wind-swept moors in a gothic romance or the jungles of Brazil in a textbook about the snakes of South America.

She is an original thing - never to be made again. Buy Bia Cyrine (BC for short!) and let the reading adventures begin! The bookmark is 9.15" tall and 2.5" wide (230mm X 65mm) which is - a GREAT size for a bookmark!

Blank (white) inside. Printed on acid-free 80# cardstock like all my ARTcards using a color laser jet.

Comes with a translucent vellum envelope which I've also embellished with metallic spray paint to coordinate with the design which shows up underneath the address you write on it and the postage stamp... if you mail it. And why not mail it? I promise that will make a lovely splash in someone's mailbox and, because the envelope is translucent... it is also going to give the postal workers something to look at. With her exotic eastern style headress and golden wrap... ending in African paper for her skirt and cowboy boots. She is ready for ANYTHING you read and eager to be off on reading adventures with you, as your bookmark.

An old calendar found new life here as her tunic... over which I scraped metallic gold paint - one picture here, shot at an angle, really shows the lovely golden glimmer. Black paint, into which I scribbled makes a nice pattern in the middle - and the bottom is the robin's egg blue of the calendar over which I painted several rows of off-white dashes. Her skirt is made of wonderful black and white African paper over which I added white dots - let's pretend they're buttons! Rustic browns and amber toned fabric make her small, peaked hat -- half of which is a blue and yellow batik print, with accents of glittery gold dots, befitting the divine bookGoddess. I molded her face out of playdoh which I then painted to resemble well worn copper.. with a blue green, iredscent patina. This is one of those times when photography doesn't quite capture her loveliness.

9.25" tall X 2.5" wide (232mm X 65mm) - the PERFECT size for a bookmark. She'll enjoy being your bookmark whether it's a paperback or a large coffee table book. She makes a wonderful, unique gift for the teacher who has all the difference or a loved one who reads a lot or who you would like to encourage to read more.

However... it is on paper so don't get it wet if you can help it!! I've printed the original artwork out and then added quite a few embellishments by hand so that it's nearly as nice as the original.

It comes inside a translucent vellum envelope which I've also embellished with metallic spray paint to coordinate with the design that shows through... so the design shows through under the address & stamp side of the envelope and it makes a very nice splash in the mailbox of the special person you send it to.

Well no, not really JUST a bookmark - she is more wonderful than that... she is a bookGODDESS! She will keep your place in whatever book you're reading - or you could frame her or post her in a place of honor in your work area to inspire you or, keep her next to your bed to guard and protect your dreams. Whatever you do with Piper SKY - she is a unique piece of art never to be made again so if you like her - click quick!

9.5" tall X 2.5 wide (238mm X 65mm) P. SKY is made entirely by me... I molded her face from model magic playdoh, and then painted it to resemble old bronze. It's a really beautiful face, with irredescent pink and coppery highlights and a blue-green patina as if she were ancient, which she is of course - never mind that I just made her the other day. Her hat is a bit of colorful appricot and purple fabric with bits of red... accents of metallic gold paint and long, lovely multicolored tassles of pink, purple and blue. You can think of it as hair or as tassles. Once she is yours, you can think what you want.

Her dress is a bit of purchased paper. Even I cannot resist the allure of the paper aisle at the craft store! To this however, I added a bit of ivory/metallic gold paper as a wrap skirt, and a yellow scarf with orange polka dots just to keep her warm on those literary adventures in cool climates. Her petticoat is a bit of a map - somewhere in Eastern Europe I think. I have a wonderful friend who travels a lot more than me and she brings me such wonderful bits and pieces from her travels. This might be in the area of Prague. Not sure.

Fianlly - she has wheels instead of feet. Colorful wheels too and one has extra traction built in --- so you know there isn't a thing she cannot navigate - book-wise. Altogether Piper SKY is a wonderful, lovely bookGoddess ready to bestow vast clouds of warm benevolence upon you as you read.

Her hat tries but does not contain the frolicsome mass of hair (yarn) which just wants to shout to the world "Free at last, free at last! Thank God Almight - free at last!"

Her dress is a colorful bit of paper and her skirt (who says you can't wear both at the same time!!) is a bit of green marbled paper made by my friend Barbara who I'm trying to lure onto Etsy. Wheels instead of feet will get Amise easily around whatever reading material you care to voyage into. Gold jewelry (paint) on her hat, neck and even ornamenting her wheels make Amise very fancy but as you can see... by her serene expression, she is NOT a snob at all.

9 3/8" tall X 2.5" wide (238mm X 65mm) she is just the right size for a bookmark but so fabulous that you might be tempted to frame her. Although she is just a bookmark - though perhaps the most exquisite bookmark your books have ever seen (since when do books have eyes?).

I made her face from play-doh, then painted it to resemble an old bit of metal left out in the weather for a few centuries. Add a crazy variety of papers both handmade, junk mail, purchased paper, paint and glue --- and you have a completely original bookmark which really will make your reading hours a lot more fun. If you can bear to buy her and then give her away -- then she'd make a nice gift for that special someone you know who has everything... everything EXCEPT a fabulous bookGoddess.

Personally -- I suggest you buy a few -- they make nice teams when bought in groups plus it's easier to give one away when you already have a few of them in your books.

Who says you can't have a work of art as a bookmark?!

Bronwen Bax is very elegant from her very fine furry hat (a bit of upholstery fabric whose frayed edges serve very nicely as fringe) down to her black fashion boots (paint). I molded her face from Model Magic and then painted it to resemble old copper with a blue-green patina of age even though she is brand new. Her dress is cut from a bit of scrapbooking paper which was too ugly for words so I painted it orange, colored on it a bit and then WROTE all over - complete nonsense, I assure you. THEN I stamped some gray paint over the top and this bit serves as a warm sweater for Bronwen... never mind the holes in the sweater -- they only go to show that 'shabby chic' is a way of life for the average bookGoddess. Finally, an underskirt from some very nice black and metallic gold paper complete her very interesting ensemble. Her orange-russet hair is a bit of unraveled upholstery fabric - she wears it loose because she may be elegant and serene at all times but she is also wild and uninhibited -- therefore equally at home in a textbook, a romance novel, a New York Times bestseller or... whatever you are reading now. She just wants to be along for the ride.

She is glued to a bit of heavy card stock using archival adhesives. Is she lovely - yes! Is she lonely -- YES! She wants to be out of my Etsy box and into your book! Please order her today. The End.

Printed on 80#card stock with color laser jet printer... image is water-proof and fade resistant. Paint and collage elements are hand applied to add back the fun of the original AND the words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" have been added to make this a birthday card. The original image is an 11"x14" mixed media work, matted and archivally framed and is also for sale. So... you could have the original and a CARD from the original!! Your call. Anyway, even the card is nice enough for framing. But... if you don't frame it, it looks nice also in the hand-embellished translucent vellum envelope... which allows the design to shimmer underneath the address and postage stamp, making this a decidedly colorful splash in the mailbox of someone you care about.

Maura Lei - a bookGoddess

$15.00
This is a bookmark - but Maura Lei is also so lovely and so keen to bestow her unlimited quantities of benevolence upon your reading hours -- that she is a bookGoddess. She will amuse, delight and inspire you to read more - she will also keep your place in your book while you're away.

9.2" tall X 2.5" wide (233mm X 65mm) Maura Lei is the perfect size by bookGoddess standards. She is an original piece of art on thick card stock, never to be made again by me. Some people buy these and frame them but she is just a bookmark and would very much like it if you'd use her that way!

I molded her face and then painted it to resemble ancient metal with the patina of age. Her black and white hat is a fabulous mix of swirls and circles -- made of fabric and paint. Her kinky black hair is a bit of unraveled wool tweed (don't worry - my dad's old coats and jackets are all unmolested!). Here dress is a bit of paper which I painted mossy green, sponged with black then etched out circles, scrapped, and basically screwed around with until it pleased me. Her underskirt is just some black and white ribbon and her neck scarf - fabric to match her hat. Wow - she is really put together well -- and isn't this exactly the sort of thing you'd wear if only you could find such fabulous clothes. Really - a designer needs to come along and HIRE ME to help them design more interesting clothes for us all to wear. Until that happens, I'll continue making bookGoddesses and "dressing" them in the most wonderful outfits possible. Throw in a pair of comfy cowboy boots and this girl is ready to roll through your next book with you!

Which is lucky because she is, after all, a bookmark. But so fabulous that she is a Goddess and as such, the rules of anatomy do not apply to her so she gets wheels instead of feet. Forget roller-skates! This bookmark gets around and will roll though any sort of literature you care to read. Elegantly attired in a red and gold tunic, a handy pocket... and a very colorful skirt. The rules of fashion also do not apply to her. Bright pink hair (thread) and a colorful hat -- she contemplates only her future as your bookmark, with the clarity of purpose that is just typical of my bookGoddesses.

I made her face out of playdoh which I painted to resemble old bronze. Her tunic is purchased paper and the skirt I made from some of my kid's left over graph paper from math class. The hat is fabric and all is glued down with gel medium which is tough stuff! The background is embellished with torn up sheet music and a bit from a French language newspaper and some wrapping paper. All these bits and pieces come together into Elsmey DuJour JUST FOR YOU.

On the other hand, if you've enjoyed a book in the past - why NOT read it again? Take Anya Wren along - her taste in literature is as vast and as varied as yours.

Her elaborate headwrap is made from various bits of pink batik, red print, and purple fabric embellished with gold paint. Having her hair tucked away means that there will be no distractions for her as she romps with you through the pages of --- whatever you are reading right now. I molded her face of model magic and painted it to resemble old metal. Her tunic is a bit of purchased paper (even I cannot withstand the allure of the paper aisle at the craft store!) which is embellished with gold buttons (paint) and a bit of an old book as a warm neck cozy. Her skirt is more purchased paper with a fringe of black feathers (really it's just paint)... but let's pretend it's feathers. Come on - pretend with me!! Finally, she has on black fashion boots which are perfect if you're reading a book about pirates or about fashion. Or a book with the word 'black' in it. OR any book. Let's face it, Anya Wren is nothing but versatile and she is sturily put together. If you don't insist on having her in your office cubicle to keep you company --- then she'll be your best-ever bookmark.

9.2" X 2.5" (236mm X 65mm) the right size, if you ask me, for a bookmark and Anya says - the 'perfect' size. Well, she is a bookGOddess and must know what she is talking about!

$15.00
Bea Carrick is a bookmark so unique and delightful - she is in fact, a "bookGoddess". Click quick and she is yours and will bestow an unlimited amount of benevolence upon all your reading hours. She will also keep your place while you're away from your book.

She is entirely hand made and is a unique piece of art never to be made again. I molded her face from playdoh and then painted it to resemble aged copper. Her black, kinky hair is a bit of unraveled wool and her hat is a bit of black and white fabric embellished with accents of gold and and white paint. Her dress is from a book, with a skirt to match her hat, embellished with a bit of shear black and white polka dot. Wheels instead of feet are evidence that she is ready and willing to roll with you, whatever your reading material. She is not a snob. Neither is she super delicate. While some people frame their bookGoddess... I would just like to take this opportunity to point out that she is a bookmark and can be used as a bookmark provided you do not close the book on her face which is durable given it isn't abused (it is just playdoh after all!).

9.25" tall by 2.5" wide (234mm X 65mm) on heavy card stock, all elements applied with acrylic gel medium so she will hold together no matter how turbulent your action novel, no matter how steamy the romance, no matter how bone-achingly dull the textbook... she will endure! And she will help you to endure too. She's like that.

Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, Tuesdays --- all glorious occasions to let someone know that we care about them to send the most unusual card possible - an ARTcard, hand embellished in the ever-funky BLue Chair Studio by me.

Each card comes in a translucent vellum envelope which I've also embellished to enhance the design which shows through making this a most unusual piece of mail which is ART that even your weary postal worker gets to enjoy --- IF you manage to send it. Alot of people swerve on the way to the mailbox and their ARTcard ends up in a frame. Oh well, that's nice too.

Each will be LIKe this but will vary somewhat as the materials that are ON my work table tend to migrate to what I'm working on at the time so each will be part print and part fabulous original. So much like life: each day dawns pretty much the same way - the sun comes up --- but oh how each day makes itself so unique and wonderful!

This is a reprint of an original which I have carefully embellished so that it's almost as wonderful as the original.

Mailed inside a transluscent, vellum envelope, which I have hand embellished with metallic spray paint... this makes a very stunning splash in the mailbox of someone who is very special to you. Or frame them. A lot of these get framed... but they are for mailing, just so you know.

She'll keep your place in whatever book you're currently reading but will also bestow her calm radiant charm upon you as you read.

She is just one of FIVE RuBees currently listed so you could buy the whole collection of RuBees -- all of them colorful and wonderful - all cut from the same piece of paper which I painted to make even more fabulous.

This RuBee's hat is made from various bits of fabric and her hair is yarn. I molded her face from playdoh and then, when dry, I painted it to resemble a bit of lovely old bronze with a blue-green patina. Her tunic is a bit of paper which I painted to make very colorful. Her underskirt is black and white striped paper. Her very comfortable cowboy boots are part paint and part print. She is glued onto 100# cardstock and altogether is ready to be YOUR favorite bookmark ever! As one customer exclaimed, "It's artwork for your book!" Each one is highly unique and will never (can never) be made again so if you adore her and want her - click quick before this RuBee is gone.

9.75" tall X 2.5" wide (248mm X 65mm)- colorful, wonderful and ready to go. Once sold, she'll be carefully wrapped and placed in a (recycled) box and shipped off to you. Every care is taken so that she'll arrive in perfect condition, ready to go to work as your reading companion. Or you can frame her - lots of people do, but I make them as bookmarks, use my own as bookmarks and suggest you do the same - they really do make reading better.

Sadly, reading is on the decrease in this country. Use this bookmark to encourage yourself to read more OR, if you're already a bookworm, use this bookmark to encourage someone you love to read more. I so admire First Lady Laura Bush for all her work to promote reading in this country so I sent her a bookGoddess AND am also keeping the prices of the bookGoddesses low so that people will actually use these original works of art AS bookmarks.

The pocket would also be nice for holding a nice little gift for someone special. I've added lace to the pocket and replaced the boring button with a nice little pearl-like button. "BELIEVE" is written in permanent ink on the side pannel. There is a button & loop closure on the back side (which uses the man's shirt again - thus the aged look) so this pillow would be easy to wash. Just wash in cold and line dry.

Priced low to make room for the coming batch of pillows!

Ngbo Komi - a bookGoddess for your book

$15.00
There are bookmarks and then there are bookGoddesses - Ngbo Komi is a bookGoddess! She will keep your place in whatever you are reading (like a bookmark) but she will do it much more style and calm, benevolent grace.

I molded her face from playdoh (Model Magic) and then painted it to look like an ancient bronze - befitting a timeless being like Ngbo Komi. Her hat is part paper and part fabric, from which emerges gold earrings (paint). Her dress is from a magazine cover (recycling!!) and her skirt is a lovely piece of purchased paper - yes, even I succomb to all the lovely papers that are out there for sale. Instead of feet, shoes & socks - this charmer has wheels instead and who ever said they had to match each other OR her outfit? Altogether, she is wonderful, lovely, stylish and never to be made again. If you love Ngbo Komi - or know someone who would, I urge you to buy her and put her to work in a good book - or a bad book. But a BOOK! Remember - those who DON'T read have no advantage over those who CAN'T.

What's the perfect size for a bookmark? Well, I'll tell you: it's 9.25" tall by 2.5" wide (240mm X 65mm). Every thing is put together with acid-free gel medium onto 100# cardstock which is just a tad thicker than the 80# cardstock I used to use. Someone asked me to make them thicker so I'm making them thicker!

CREATE your CUSTOM bookGoddess

$20.00
The pictures show a vareity of bookGoddesses - but NOT the one you are buying. You are BUYING a very special bookGoddess that is not yet in existence but will result from our collaboration... a unique combination of my glue wizardry and YOUR ideas and maybe some of your stuff too.

She will eventually stand approximately 9.5" Tall and 2.5" wide (235mm X 65mm) which is the perfect size for a bookmark! BUT you might choose to frame her.

I will use YOUR colors, YOUR ideas, YOUR hair (optional) and can offer shoes, boots both humble, elegant and cowboy and 3 different styles of wheels (instead of feet). Off subject but somewhat related - I told my family I want to be buried wearing rollerskates. Not that I do a lot of rollerskating now --- but I plan to have more time for things like this in heaven. Plus, you don't worry about falling down in heaven - right?

To get the ball rolling here - BUY this item and CONVO me and we'll start planning YOUR very special CUSTOM MADE bookGoddess.

Ideas of things you can mail to me: a lock of your hair or your loved one's hair (to use as the Goddess' hair) a bit of fabric that you love, a bit of old book, old postcards, old photographs, foreign currency, newspaper clippings, scrapbook paper - a child's drawing or painting --- all these things can be cut up and used for the dress and or hat. Anything you send me will either be used in the bookGoddess OR returned to you with the finished bookGoddess. Anything you send to me will be cut up and USED in the bookGoddess so don't send anything that is either valuable or irreplaceable. If it's super important to you then send me a photocopy!

Not optional - the face. Basically all faces are similar but you can choose bronze, coppery, gold or shimmery blue-green -- which are the basic sorts that I paint but each face is a mixture of many paints which give the face a lovely fake patina of age which is quite appropriate to a Goddess with buckets of wisdom and grace.

Together we can make a very meaningful gift for someone you care about --- or a keepsake for yourself that you'll treasure long after I'm rollerskating in Heaven.

Certainly I can do more than one -- but they're $17.50 each. If you want more than one (one for each of your parents?) then convo me and I'll set up the price JUST FOR YOU. They will not (cannot) be identical but can be similar (or dissimilar) - your call.

Like a bookmark she will keep your place in whatever you are reading but unlike the average bookmark, Elouza will also bestow a never-ending benevolence and calm joy upon all your reading hours.

I molded her face from playdoh and then carefully painted it to resemble worn copper. Her hat is part black and gold paper and lovely, bright fabric bits. A bit of paint serves her as pearl earrings. I cut her dress from an art magazine which I painted on and added bits of an ancient newspaper so lots of recycling going on here. Her skirt is a bit of paper I recently bought - it reminds me of printed African fabric. Ro Audio is very sensible and has cowboy boots so she is ready for ANY reading material you care to take her through. She is modern, stylish and sensible. HOW great is that?

All her bits are glued with acid-free adhesive to 100# cardstock which is 9.25" tall X 2.5" wide (238mm X 65mm) onto which I've printed an artwork of mine with a few extra embellishments just to provide the perfect backdrop for the modern, timeless, useful Ro Audio.

She is ready to embark upon any reading adventure with you -- and will also hold your place while you're away.

9.25" tall X 2.5" wide (238mm X 65mm) Sarra is a work of art you can put in your book OR frame -- some people do even though, she has the humble goal of being your favorite bookmark.

I molded her face from playdoh and then painted it to resemble old bronze befitting a goddess! Her interesting and elegant hat is from bits of fabric (NOTHING goes to waste around here!) which I've embellished with bits of metallic gold paint. Very elegant yet she's not a snob at all... check out the cowboy boots! Sturdy footwear tells you that she is ready to tromp with you through any sort of reading from dull textbooks, tedious assigned reading or rivoting novels. Her hair is a bit of amber colored fiber unraveled from upholstery. Her dress came from a calendar and is a colorful bit which includes greenery, a bird, a bee and a flower! She is the goddess of gardens and the wee beasties that live in the garden! She very sensibly has an apron of ivory and gold paper -- and an underskirt of red and brown fabric.

Altogether, she is ready to be the best reading companion you've ever had!

$15.00
Lola Bee is a bookmark but so much more serene, more magestic, more fashionable --- in short, she is a "bookGoddess" if you please!

9.25" tall by 2.5" (234mm x 65mm) Lola is lovingly made entirely by ME - each component carefully added after I threw caution to the wind. Really, the bookGoddesses (and all my art) are about letting the art happen and I just try not to get in the way of what the universe wants to do with my art supplies on any given day. ANd these are the results!

Her colorful tunic is cut from an old calendar - I liked the birds and the bee! I molded her face from playdoh which I painted to resemble ancient metal. Her hat is made from bits of fabric (I never throw anything away!!) embellished with dots of metallic gold paint so look like bells. Who doesn't want a hat with bells on it? Her skirt is a bit of purchased paper because even I cannot resist the allures of the paper asile at Michael's! Finally, Lola Bee has wheels instead of feet - given the choice, wouldn't you prefer wheels? And the one wheel has added tread for traction in those really difficult to read passages.

Altogether, Lola is the kind of bookmark that will happily read anything with you - she just wants to be along for the ride as page-turning is her very favorite thing in the world. She also likes it when you gasp outloud at the really astounding bits in the book.

But... if you don't frame it, it looks nice also in the hand-embellished translucent vellum envelope... which allows the design to shimmer underneath the address and postage stamp, making this a decidedly fun splash in the mailbox of someone you care about

She not only looks good, holds your place in your book while you're away and while you read, bestows calm benevolence - never ending supplies of it, in fact.

Mimi is 9.20" tall X 2.5" (234mm X 65mm) and is an original work of art, suitable for framing. Or use her as she's intended - as an amazing bookmark! I molded her face from play and then I painted it when dry, to resemble old copper. Her hat is bits of fabric, securely glued on and accented with metallic gold paint. Her black kinky hair is taken from a bit of tweed (don't worry - dad's jacket has not been molested). Her beautiful, colorful dress is a bit of an old 2008 calendar onto which I sponged black paint and then inscribed designs in it to create an interesting skirt for Mimi. Her underskirt is a bit of paper I made using some graph paper that came home one day in my daughter's backpack. Finally - Mimi choose to have wheels instead of feet. Given the choice, who wouldn't?

Altogether, Mimi is a lovely bit of unique stuff and ready to go to work as your best bookmark ever.

And you can see that the painting that makes up her dress is wonderful! This is what should happen to all wonderful 2005 calendars.

Colorful and lively... Bao is ready to be your best bookmark ever! Imagine her serene face quietly bestowing calm through whatever you are currently reading.

I made her face from playdoh and then painted it to look like weathered gold. Her blue hair is plain ol' thread put to glorious use. Her hat is from bits of fabric with frayed edges - Bao likes fringe! Her dress is from a 2005 calendar of watercolor paintings - isn't it wonderful? I have almost 20 retail locations across the country that carry the bookGoddesses but Bao was SO SPECIAL -- I kept her aside for YOU, my etsy friend. She has a glittery silver necklace and there are also glittery silver "stars" in her sky. She has gold buttons on her dress (paint) and then a marvelous pair of wheels which are just right for rolling through the pages of any book you care to tackle with Bao Hannah along.

9.5" tall X 2.5" wide (243mm X 63mm) she is JUST the right size for a bookmark but also suitable for framing as she is an original work of art, never to be made in just this way again. If you agree then DO IT --- BUY HER -- because I'll never be able to make her again -- that 2005 calendar is just a bunch of goddess dresses.

She is busy contemplating her future life as YOUR bookmark and is not even aware that she is so fine looking. BookGoddesses are like that.

Also - her sensible shoes would make you think she eschews lewd, silly or otherwise questionable reading material but there again --- wrong. She is READY to go on your reading adventures - ALL of them. Textbooks, best sellers, you name it - she just wants to be in on the action - YOUR page turning!

I molded her face using playdoh which I then carefully painted to resemble ancient bronze - as if she has been around forever. Her hat is a bit of batik fabric accented with dots of gold paint and a FEATHER. Very delicate - very elegant! Her hair is a bit of unraveled wool and her dress is partly from a children's book illustration, old currency and a bit of purchased paper - even I cannot withstand the allure of the paper aisle at the craft store!

She is glued to 80# card stock which is 10" tall (from the tip top of her feather) and 2.5" wide (252mm X 65mm). But that doesn't begin to actually describe her --- she is exotic and benevolent -- she is a one-of-a-kind item which I will never make again - can never make again.

Perfect as a mother's day gift - or a very special gift for a teacher --- a graduation gift - for ANYONE who loves to read and will appreciate Zola's unconscious forray into the wilderness of extreme fashion.

Maura Tanya - a bookGoddess for your book

$12.00
There are bookmarks and then there are bookGoddesses! This bookmark will not only hold your place in whatever you're reading --- tuck her into the back pages while you read, and she bestows her gentle benevolence upon your reading hours. As if reading weren't already great enough!!

Though she serves AS a bookmark, Maura Tanya also has the fashion sense to knock the socks off anyone wearing socks. She wears a black and white scarf (fabric) under an orange on orange polka dot hat (more fabric) out of which springs a bit of metallic silver thread as a long, elegant tassle on one side with a tiny gold "bell" on the other. It's really not a bell - just a dot of gold glitter but remember, not all that is glitters is gold -- sometimes the glitter is GLITTER! (Isn't 'glitter' a funny word --- say it five times fast)

Her dress is QUITE the thing and I would definately wear something like this if I could! Her colorful yellow, green and rust colored dress is from an old art calendar and the black & white skirt is a bit torn from a woodblock print I made back in college - FINALLY I am putting it to good use! Instead of feet, Maura has colorful wheels - which don't match. Whoever said that our wheels have to match? Of course, strictly speaking, no one ever said we could HAVE wheels in the first place but I think that's too bad because think how fun life would be if we could choose wheels instead of feet!

I molded her face out of playdoh and when dry, painted it to resemble an ancient bit of bronze as befits the timeless dignity of this bookGoddess, named Maura Tanya.

She is 9.25" tall and 2.5" wide (233mm X 65mm) and is glued with an acid free adhesive to 80# cardstock onto which I have printed another artwork by me --- and I've also glued on some bits of paper and a bit of envelope from some junk mail. If this description doesn't answer every question you might have --- then I'm impressed with your highly inquisitive mind and hope you'll convo me with your question!

This bookGoddess will not only exude radiant grace and benevolence upon you while you read, she will also keep your place while you are away! But don't expect Odylle to give away plot twists and turns, this bookGoddess is ON YOUR SIDE! She wants to tackle every page with you and will not (she solemnly promises) read ahead no matter how the pot starts to boil. Unless you're reading a textbook and then never mind... no one is tempted to read ahead, even a bookGoddess!

9.25"tall X 2.5" wide (234mm X 65mm) she is a terribly unique piece of art sutiable for framing and yet she is only a bookGoddess, humble yet sublime and elegant! I molded her face from playdoh and then painted it to resemble old copper. Her colorful headress is black and white fabric topped with a brim of orange fabric. Glod glitter for dangly earrings and she is ready for whatever you are reading. Her tunic is from a book that was laying around here and seemed to be doing no good - until I started to cut it up! Then she has an underskirt of brown fabric with a petticoat of black and oatmeal colored paper striped -- with playful minty green dots to show you that she's not above a bit of whimsy! Her collar is a bit of junk mail over which I've laid down some more gold glitter for necklaces - isn't she wonderful? She could be YOUR bit of wonderful - if you buy her for yourself or as the "perfect gift" for that reader you care about -- or someone you wish to encourage in their reading habits.

ALtogether, Odylle is dressed for ANY sort of reading you might be doing. The cowboy boots just mean that she is ready for any sort of book! But don't let the sturdy, sensible footware fool you -- her danty black glove and delicate hands suggest a cultured refinement -- even in the most exalted company - such as Jane Austin or a biography of the Queen - Odylle will know how to behave and will do you proud.

$15.00
A very quirky bookGoddess - named Rosamund Innes - could be the best bookmark you've ever had but only if you click quick. Once she's gone, this original work of art will not, cannot, be made again. All the bookGoddesses are like that.

Rosamund is not named for any specific character in the Outlander series by writer Diana Gabaldon, but is just a name given to this highly unlikely highland lass.

First, no one has wheels instead of feet - even highlanders who have to walk everywhere and WISH they had wheels instead of feet. However, these wheels are what makes her so very handy as a bookmark - she can turn on a dime and go from a spy novel to a textbook and back again without any problem.

From her jaunty burgundy hat down to her knobby tires, she is eager to get into a good book and go along for the ride. Her hair is a bit of burgundy upholstery fabric (don't worry - my drapes are unmolested) and her hat has some bells on it! (not real bells - just gold metallic paint). Her tunic is green plaid with a little pocket, an underskirt of longhand text and another underskirt of red and metallic gold paper. Then the wheels. She is both elegant and wild. I molded her face from playdoh, then painted it to look like ancient gold.

9.5" tall by 2.5" wide (242mm X 65mm) she is just the right size to keep your place in whatever book you're reading, whether you're a fan of Diana Gabaldon's books or not.

For that sophisticated person who likes contemporary designs and the handmade life.

This is a 5"X7" reprint of an original work, to which I have added by hand various embellishments to give this the feel of an original. It comes in a translucent vellum envelope which I've spray painted with metallic spray paint to compliment the card design underneath. Altogether, this makes an unusual and beautiful piece of mail which can create a very happy splash in someone's mail box... if you mail it. If you frame it, never mind about that splash thing. Buy two... frame one and mail the other. There. Problem solved. I'm here to help solve all your problems (all the ones that can be solved with art.)

From her colorful but warm hat down to her sturdy cowboy boots, Una is ready to roll through the pages with you as your favorite bookmark ever. She has long black hair (a bit of unraveled upholestery thread) worn in two long ponytails. She has a bit of fabric for a hat embellished with a bit of gold paint - both elegant and practical! I molded her face from playdoh which I then painted to resemble ancient metal befitting a goddess like Una Desmond. Her dress is from an old calendar onto which I applied some black paint and then scraped out the 'skirt' to accent this very fabulous outfit. A bit of art paper is her underskirt which is a bit worn and torn but that's Una - not a snob! Not at all!!

9.25" tall by 2.5" wide - she is an original thing made entirely by me - never to be made in just this way again so if you like her and need her company on all your reading adventures, click and she's YOURS!

bookmark named Nola Bram

$15.00
Nola Bram is a cowgirl bookGoddess -- just too divine to be merely a bookmark! This bookGoddess will not only exude radiant grace and benevolence upon you while you read, she will also keep your place while you are away! But don't expect Nola to give away plot twists and turns, this bookGoddess is ON YOUR SIDE! She wants to tackle every page with you and will not (she solemnly promises) read ahead no matter how the pot starts to boil. Unless you're reading a textbook and then never mind... no one is tempted to read ahead, even a bookGoddess!

9.20"tall X 2.5" wide (233mm X 65mm) she is a terribly unique piece of art sutiable for framing and yet she is only a bookGoddess, humble yet sublime! I molded her face from humble playdoh and then painted it to resemble old metal. Her colorful russet hair is from a bit of upholstery which I unraveld a bit for this divine bit. NO WORRIES - the drapes are just fine! Her hat is scraps of fabric from various sewing projects (NOTHING goes to waste around here!) and her dress is a bit of an old calendar which I partcially painted over and scribbled on to create the kind of dress I wish someone would make for me! Finally, she has an underskirt of green fabric and a petticoat taken from the pages of a book which had all kinds of great art in it. Her belt is a bit of silk... fancy!! Oh, and she has a matching scarf around her neck. ALtogether, Nola Bram is dressed for ANY sort of reading you might be doing. The cowboy boots just mean that she is ready for any sort of terrain! But don't let the footware fool you -- her danty black glove and delicate hands assure you that even in the most exalted company - such as Jane Austin or a biography of the Queen - Nola will know how to behave and will do you proud.

She is for YOU or your favorite reader -- if you need a truly remarkable, one-of-a-kind bookmark

Very good for the person who likes clean, contemporary designs. It comes inside a transluscent vellum envelope that I've hand embellished with metallic spray paint to coordinate with the card design which shows through under your addressee's name and a postage stamp.

Altogether this makes a lovely, unique splash in someone's mailbox unless you can't bear to mail it and either frame it or put it on your fridge -- all are reasonable reactions to something like this. But come on! "Thinking of you" imples you're thinking of someone so you do really need to slap on a stamp and mail this sucker off to someone who really deserves it. It's gonna make a nice splash in their day. I promise. I break a lot of promises -- the ones about chocolate especially, but not this one.

You'll get ONE Birthday card but need to tell me which other 3 cards you want from the above list. You can order in any combination such as 2 - ThanK YoU and 1 - HellO or all 3 - I am so very SORRy if you've done something horribly regrettable to THREE people.

All the cards are printed on 80# white card stock and then the borders are completed covered (by me) with paint and bits and pieces of paper. They may not be exactly as shown but will be a delightfully original thing which Hallmark only WISHES it could make but they're too busy churning out exact copies. All cards are blank inside for your message and come with an envelope so colorful it ensures your card will be the first thing they open!

Happy Birthday also comes with a CAKE on the front- each tier of which is a different paper and then all have delicious vanilla icing dripping off. Just kidding - that would be a MESS! It's just off-white paint. Not as delicious but this way the envelope isn't made a complete mess. You get five fabulously BRIGHT envelopes - why not just four? Because everyone is entitled to at least one mistake a day.

NOT INCLUDED - my cup of tea - for the same reasons that I could not use real icing on the cake. Also not included: the beautiful zebra pen - custom made for me by etsy artist, EXPRESSO. Visit her shop and ask about a custom pen for you. It's not as expensive as you'd think. And tell her elizabeth sent you!

$15.00
There are bookmarks and then there are bookGODDESSES! This bookGoddess, Maggie Loeffelholz, is named for a VERY wonderful young lady of my acquaintance who constantly impresses me with her beauty, intelligence, warmth, wit and the most amazing smile that starts in her eyes and ends in her radiant soul.

This bookGoddess - named for a special person -- was made to be YOUR favorite bookmark of all time. Maggie just wants to go on all your reading adventures with you. THe Maggie I know is not a snob despite her vast charms -- and this Maggie is no different. Whether you are reading a textbook, a trashy novel or a best-seller... Maggie will bestow her benevolent charms upon you as you read AND will keep your place for you while you're away.

Her hat is made from three different bits of fabric and her hair is a bit of unraveled wool which is like the curly hair of MY Maggie. I molded her face from playdoh which, when dry, I painted to resemble an ancient bronze, befitting the timeless elegance of Maggie. Her dress is cut from an old calendar and her skirt is a bit of a woodcut print I did back in college. It sucked but finds itself suddenly useful again! She wears flip-flops just to show that she is not a snob when it comes to fashion. Comfortable footwear is important if you're about to traverse the unknown wilds of literature.

It's all put together with an acid-free adhesive which is so durable that you really can use this beauty AS a bookmark.

9.5" tall X 2.5" wide (240mm X 64mm) on 80# cardstock.

Hiro Mae Dwan - a bookmark

$15.00
There are bookmarks and then there are bookGODDESSES. Hiro Mae Dwan is a bookGoddess! Like a bookmark, she'll keep your place in your book while you're away BUT Hiro will also bestow her calm benevolence upon all your reading hours. And check out those sensible shoes - she is ready for whatever reading material you care to romp through with her by your side.

Her very stylish hat is fabric and yep - that's a real feather in her cap. Be gentle with Hiro and especially gentle with that feather but it really makes this a very special bookmark for you or for your favorite reader.

I molded her face from playdoh and then, when dry, I painted it to resemble precious metal with the patina of the ages as befits a goddess. Her hair is coppery metallic thread. Her dress comes from an old calendar with a bit of torn newsprint for a 'lacy' collar. She is glued with acid-free adhesive to 80# card stock. Altogether - Hiro Mae is lovely and I hope she adds a great deal of happiness to your reading hours.

I have several bookGoddesses and they really do add to my reading enjoyment.

10.5" from the top of her feather X 2.5" wide (270mm X 65mm) is a great size for a bookmark.

$15.00
Jen Too is a bookGoddess - too lovely to be called merely a "bookmark" but she is in fact both a bookmark and an original work of art!

9.25"tall X 2.5"wide (234mm X 65mm) Jen Too is the perfect size for a bookmark and every thing else about her is perfect too -- just the right amount of sass and yet she is very sensibly wearing wheels instead of feet so she is ready to roll with you through whatever reading material you may have before you. She is ready for anything!

I molded her face from playdoh and then painted it to resemble old copper. Her black kinky hair is fibers pulled from a wool tweed (don't worry - dear old dad's jackets are all unmolested!) and her hat is a bit of fabric embellished with gold paint. Her dress was a bit of calendar that I painted black at the bottom then scrapped paint away to create for her a sassy little dress. Underneath the dress is a colorful skirt - a bit of paper I made from old graph paper. And then - the wheels which are not only colorful but will really give you the traction you need to get through rough spots in books.

She is ready to be your favorite bookmark ever. She would also like to be a gift for the special reader in your life. TEACHERS: imagine displaying a bookGoddess as a prize for the most books read for the month! That would inspire some page turning!!

BOOKmark named Zelda Bao

$15.00
Charming and attractive, Zelda Bao is the sort of bookmark that is so divine, she's a 'bookGoddess' but still - humble and gracious at all times. Don't let her bright colors mislead you, she is modest and never a snob - she will happily, joyfully, even gleefully embark with you upon any reading adventure you care to name. No author is too steamy, no textbook too dull, no assigned reading too tiresome -- she just wants to be YOUR bookmark!

9.15" tall X 2.5" wide (234mm X 65mm) she is an entirely original work of art, all made by ME (just for you by the way) glued onto heavy card stock which will stand up to years of use. Some people frame their bookGoddess AS a work of art and that's fine -- but then buy TWO - one to frame and one to use because they are SO VERY nice as a bookmark.

AND perfect for Mother's Day (May 10 - 2009) Find the bookGoddess that suits your mother's style or buy one that honors the goddess that she is to you.

I molded her face from play doh and then painted it to resemble old bronze. Her hat is fabric with a bit of glitter and her hair is colorful yarn. Her shirt is a bit of an old 2008 calendar and that fluffy skirt is just a bit of paint. Then she's got two colorful skirts underneath, one is purchased paper and the other is a bit of colorful paper that I make. Finally - WHEELS instead of feet. How handy is that???

KS Chebdeene - a bookGoddess for your book

$15.00
A bookmark holds your place in whatever you happen to reading. KS Chebdeene will do all that effortlessly and will also bestow a great deal of artiness and urban style.

Named KS for my inspiration - Kurt Schwitters -- she is a nice combination of old cardboard box and scrapbook paper, old book and dictionary.

9.5" tall by 2.5" wide (248mm X 65mm) KS Chebdeene is an original work of art for your book. Her hat is a bit of artfully frayed upholstery fabric - fabulously stylish and warm too - so take her with you next time you venture off into a Gothic romance on the wind-swept moors or on a tale of survival in the arctic. I molded her face out of playdoh which I then painted to resemble an old bronze. Her black kinky hair is a bit of unraveled wool. Her tunic resembles old handwritten text to which I've added a few scraps from a dictionary and a bit from an old book. Her two lower skirts are torn from a bit of cardboard box which would make Kurt Schwitters proud - he was terribly fond of using strange bits and pieces and I love his work to pieces. Her shoes are sensible so that no matter what you read - she can keep up.
She is 9.5" tall X 2.5" wide (240mm X 65mm) and durable enough to really use as a bookmark. I promise - she will be your most companionable bookmark ever!

She's a bit of a hippie - thus the name "True" but a real goddess of the universe ready for any sort of book that you might now be reading or crack open in the future. She is not a snob and just wants to be along for the ride. Check out the riding boots - see... she is truly ready to ride along in your next book.

One-of-a-kind describes all the bookGoddesses and True is no exception. Her hat is a lively combination of different fabrics and paint. Unraveled upholstery fabric is made to work for her light brown/blonde hair --- so thick and wonderful! I molded her face of playdoh and then painted it when dry to resemble old bronze. Her tunic came from an old calendar which I painted over. Her skirt is from both a bit of old newspaper and a bit of art paper - even I cannot resist the allure of the paper aisle at Michael's!

There is really nothing else you need to know about True except that once she is gone - you'll never see her like again as the paper and the various elements were all unique to True Kubah. So if you love her and have to have her... she is a mere click (or two) away.

From her pink plaid skirt to her pink batik hat - Shannon SHy is ready for whatever book you are reading. To help you navigate all the plot twists and turns - you'll notice that part of her skirt is a MAP (a city in Eastern Europe I believe). She wears a swirly patterned shirt with metallic gold buttons (paint) and has colorful wheels instead of feet... she is READY to roll with you on your next reading adventure whether it's the Outlander series by author Diana Gabaldon or another book!

9.25" X 2.5" (235mm X 65mm) Shannon is a very original piece of art for your book. I molded her face from playdoh and then painted it to resemble ancient metal. Her hair is lovely kinky bits of rusty fiber taken from upholestery fabric (don't worry - the drapes are unmolested!) and more metallic gold paint is used to ornament her pink hat in a way totally befitting a goddess. Her jaunty but relaxed stance tells you she is at peace with herself and the world -- the universe too so she would be perfect for any fiction, non-fiction or science fiction! The main thing is -- just get her and then take her with you on your next reading adventure because that's why I made her and that's what she lives for.

Her hat is two different fabrics and some bits of metallic gold paint and her "hair" is some multi colored yarn. Her colorful, modern art tunic is a bit from an ART magazine and her boldly geometric black and white skirt is a bit of nice art paper. Then she has wheels for feet because let's face it, who would not rather have wheels?!

Altogether CeJudo is a lovely thing ready to be YOUR favorite bookmark ever. Each and every bookGoddess is a one-of-a-kind thing never to be made again so if you like her - snap her up!
