He is more commonly known as the Dumpster Diving Troll. This ten and one half inch troll carries a large bag for collecting such valuable discarded things as home furnishings, food items, clothing and other essentials. These trolls think that humans are terribly wasteful creatures. They generally try to avoid contact with humans, preferring instead the company of other nocturnal creatures such as raccoons, skunks and other trolls. This little fellow goes by the name of Zax. He is quite helpful and generous. Zax is always willing to share his finds with others. Notice his tiny forehead horns? The tips glow in the dark providing light for foraging in the dark.
Zax is a one of a kind polymer clay sculpt. His horns are tipped with a glow in the dark clay. He is sculpted over a wire armature for strength and flexibility. Parts of the trolls body are created with the use of batting and various fabrics. His clothing consists of leather and fabric. Zax has glass eyes and synthetic fur hair. His bag of goodies contain pieces of dollhouse furnishings, silk plants and doll socks. He is adorned with silver charms, a feather, and leather lacing.

Wood Elf is One of the earth spirits in the realm of fairy. He stands at 11 inches in height. Elf is constructed over a strong but flexible wire armature so that he may be posed in various positions. Elf's face, hands and feet are sculpted of polymer clay. He has glass eyes (you may detect a hint of mischief in them). His hand and facial details are hand painted. Have you ever wondered why leaves turn color in the Fall? Well, it's all their fault, the Leaf Goblins! When leaf goblins are born (hatched actually) they are colorless and tiny as a drop of dew. Soon, however, they begin to grow and by Summer's end they have developed a taste for green. Green as in chlorophyll.
See her nasty little mouth? Cleverly designed to suck the green right out of a leaf. Soon leaves will all begin to loose their green hue and the reds, golds, browns and oranges of Autumn will show through. Then, poor things, they'll fall to the ground and the stuffed and green goblins will move move on to greener pastures.

Actually, she is my Fairy Godmother. I don't know how I know, I just do! No, she hasn't turned any pumpkins into coaches or my ripped jeans into an evening gown. Anyway, I would look pretty silly as an art teacher arriving to work in a coach and wearing an evening gown. I'll stick with a train and my old blue jeans thank you very much! No, I think her magic is of a more subtle variety.

There are several different types of gnomes. This is a dune gnome. Dune gnomes tend to wear subtle, faded colors as a sort of a camouflage. They do not care for the company of humans and prefer to remain unseen by them. They are, however, good friends with other creatures such as rabbits and cats. Gnomes are vegetarians and are quite healthy. They can live for hundreds of years. At the age of 150 this gnome is still considered to be quite young,
This 11 inch tall gnome (with hat) makes his home in the more remote dunes of Montauk NY. Oh, don't try to look for him, he will never let himself be found. See that brush at the end of his tail? As he walks along he sweeps away his footprints. You will never find a trace of him.

Let me introduce the Forest Troll. Not at all like his distant relative the mountain troll, he is intelligent and generally well behaved. However, travelers might not want to ask him for directions. Forest trolls are not above an occasional prank.
Forest Troll is 9 1/2 inches tall. He is contructed with a wire armature for strength and flexibility. He has glass eyes and silky fiber hair. His hands feet and face are polymer clay with touches of acrylic paint for details. He uses a small branch walking stick for balance.
The Forest Troll has been vacationing at Art Doll Quarterly where he has been photographed and featured in the Show and Tell section of the Fall edition of Art Doll Quarterly Magazine.
