Tutorial - Imitative Beach Pebbles - Polymer Clay

$16.00
I'm pleased to announce that I can finally offer you a tutorial for imitative beach pebbles.

With only a few colours and tools you'll be able to create a range of beach pebbles that'll fool the naked eye. The only deception is their light weight. Inspired by real beach pebbles, in this lesson you'll recreate veins, textures and ocean tumbled forms. Create stones of any size or shape, and then drill them with ease. Part 1 will show you how to create 4 types of basalt rocks, 2 with 2 techniques of achieving quartz veins (one slightly cracked, one banded). One black basalt rock with different shading, cracks/marks that enhances realism and one with a quartz inclusion. Lastly some red Jasper with inclusions and some tips and tricks to make your pebbles stand out.
Pasta machines for this project are entirely optional.

This tutorial is packed with 66 photographs, 22 pages, and 58 steps of instructions. It will be sent to you via email as a Pdf. file that you can download onto your computer.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:
Living on the West Coast, I'm often at the Beaches and scouring for precious finds. This includes shells, driftwood and of course beach pebbles

Tutorial - Polymer Clay Leaf Toggle Clasp Pendant - ecopy

$12.00

Perhaps you too have become a little bored with using the same commercial clasps over and over in jewelry design. Toggle clasps are very popular and seem to grace almost every bracelet and necklace today. While Gold, silver and copper are great materials, sometimes the shiny metal distracts from the design or calls for a clasp that isn't too obvious at first glance. There are of course other not so obvious styles such as polymer clay covered barrel clasps, but this style of clasp serves double-duty as both clasp and pendant.

About my toggle clasp, it was first published in PolymerCAFE (April 2008). This newer version has now been reworked to include more detailed instruction, that I feel even a beginner should be able to achieve.

The tutorial includes a colored crackle technique that can be applied to many different projects.

This tutorial consists of 37 photographs, 27 steps, 13 pages and a List of Tools and Materials, in an easy e copy .pdf file download. The precise instructions will guide you to create a leaf with branch toggle. Afterwards you'll easily be able to adapt the instructions to create any shape you desire, round, triangle, rectangle, flower or other shapes that inspire you.

Should you require help in acquiring any of the tools or materials, email me for links.

$9.00
This lesson shows how to create an elegant
bracelet that is built up from a base row of cubes
that look like bricks laid into a diamond shape,
then softened with scalloped edges. Bracelet will
measure just over 7” if using a magnetic clasp. If
using jump rings or chain and other type of clasp,
bracelet will be larger.

13 pages and 34 steps with 38 clear photographs will help guide you to create this bracelet. Beaders should have some knowledge with basic beadwork background. I consider this an intermediate project.
(If you require the materials for this project, convo me and I can put a kit together for you for any of the items, all or just a few)
Otherwise...
Materials required:
· Japanese Mijuki Beads, matte black
· size 6 czech gunmetal seed beads
· size 11 Japanese mijuki triangle seed beads,
gold lined
· 2 beading needles
· black beading thread
· clasp of choice (I used magnetic clasp)
· 2 clam shell/bead tips

Tools required:
· Flat nose pliers
· scissors
· ruler

Tutorial will be sent in .pdf form. Its a large size of about 790kb because of pictures, so if you are on dial up it can be slow to load.

$7.00
In this detailed lesson you will learn how to create a bracelet bangle from Polymer Clay. Although, the instructions are showing a neat gizmo I developed, you can size bracelets another method that is in the instructions. Whether making a bracelet for yourself or a friend, or are using it for polymer clay, beadwork or wire, the “Bam! Bam! Bracelet Tool” makes sizing a breeze. Bam! Bam! is a multi functional tool and can be used as a straight ruler when needed and will measure and adjust to wrists from small 5.75” (14.7 cm) to a large 9” (23cm). A great asset to any bead box. "Bam!Bam!it's done" tool and kit is sold separately here on Etsy along with simple instructions)

The clay I prefer is Premo! but you can use any of the other brands if you prefer, although Premo! is easy to condition and roll.
Materials:
Premo! Polymer Clay: 3/4 block black, 1/2 block each of translucent/frost, pearl, white and 1/8 block of turquoise or sea green
Jacquard Pearlex Mica Powder in gold
Gloves (if sensitive to raw clay)
Work surface
Pasta machine
Tissue blade
Exacto knife
Bamboo skewer or long knitting needle
Paper or Card stock
400 grid wet/dry sandpaper
2 large beads with holes large enough for elastic
1 or 2mm elastic

As mentioned earlier, the following materials are optional, but either enhances the project or makes it easier to complete
Jacquard Pearlex Turquoise
Embossing powder in green, blue, or verdigris
Texture Sheet (I used Shadex “Bubbles”)
Bam! Bam! Bracelet Tool and Kit (includes sizer, laminated graph, non-stick baking mat, and skewer piece)

The nature of this tutorial is highly visual. If you are a beginner you should be able to follow this tutorial with ease! 68 photographs, 63 steps and 23 pages give clear and concise instruction. This may not seem like 'Bam!Bam! it's done', but once you make ONE, you'll make your next Bam!Bam!

The tutorial is sent via .pdf and is approx. 2.5mb in size.

You can use this stencil any way you wish, in items you plan to give away or sell.

The stencil can be used on Polymer Clay, Fabric or paper. If using paints, please use Jacquard, Jones Tones or Golden Acrylic Paints or similar paints which are fine particle paints. Liquid or watery paints are not recommended.

After using these paints, you should gently wash the stencil in warm water as soon as possible as dry paints are hard if not impossible to remove. Let stencil dry before using again. Taking this precaution will allow you to use the stencil over and over.

NOTE: Tutorials are not included with stencil, but is available separately, plus other tutorials will be offered here as well suitable with this type of screen. I don't use above paints in my tutorial, but would be just as suitable.

Bam Bam Bracelet sizer tool

$5.95
Bracelet sizer is constructed from 140lb 100% cotton fiber which makes this much more durable than paper, yet it is sturdy to allow for measuring wrists from small 5.5” (14 cm) to a large 9.25” (23.5 cm).
Of course you can size bracelets with your method of choice such as measuring tape, or string and ruler, but whether making a bracelet for yourself or friend, create with polymer clay, beadwork or wire, the “Bam Bam Bracelet Tool” makes sizing a breeze. Bam Bam is a multi functional tool and can be used as a straight ruler when needed. A great asset to any beading tool box.
Instruction sheet included.
COPYRIGHT PROTECTED 2008 TINA HOLDEN

Inspiration / Story behind this Product
I found sizing bracelets frustrating and too inaccurate with beading boards, tape measures and rulers. I tried string and used a coned cup. Although a cone works fine for smaller bracelets, a cuff cannot be created as a cone tapers too rapidly. I tapered bracelet mandrel is fine but costly and one still has to struggle with string and ruler just to measure. After many hours of trying various materials I finally came up with this version of a multi-functional measuring guide that I am happy with. Finally I can create bracelets Bam Bam and be certain they are the right size. I think you will be pleased also.

You can order a bigger kit for polymer clay that includes the Bam Bam Tool, a laminated grid, a baking board and skewer at $7.95 here http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=21826527

A drop of water will also work for Premo (dont use water with Fimo). Any excess corn starch can be brushed away with a soft bristle brush.

I test the molds before sending to you, to ensure quality. Because I hand make each mold, there may be slight imperfections. My molds are done in limited runs as sea urchins tend to loose their raised dots when molded over and over. Please be aware that the one you will receive may differ slightly from the one shown, but will still produce beautiful urchins.

The pieces pictured are used for reference only and are not included in the sale. I will however send you a small tutorial on how to use the mold and make a bead.

These molds can be used with all brands of polymer clay, but softer clays like Premo or Studio Clay are recommended

Make pendants, beads, use as cabochons for bead embroidery...let your imagination guide you

Results may vary and no warranty or guarantee is given.

PhotoEZ stencil - Ancient design

You are free to use this stencil any way you wish, in items you plan to give away or sell.

The stencil can be used on Polymer Clay, Fabric or paper. If using paints, please use Jacquard, Jones Tones or Golden Acrylic Paints which have fine particles.

After using these paints, you should gently wash the stencil in warm water as soon as possible as dry paints are hard if not impossible to remove. Let stencil dry before using again. Taking this precaution will allow you to use the stencil over and over.

NOTE: Tutorial is not included with stencil, but is available separately, plus other tutorials will be offered here as well suitable with this type of screen. I don't use above paints in my tutorial, but would be just as suitable.
Tutorial - Knotty Wire Bracelet - Macrame

$7.00
In this lesson you'll create a Bangle Bracelet using wire with macramé! In the 70's this technique was used for plant hangers, glass table hangers, belts and outlandish wall-hangings that were made with jute and nylon. The resurgence in the early 90's with Hemp Jewelry made macramé popular once again. I have a feeling that hemp is here to stay, especially with its modern softness of its fiber, but since many artists also enjoy using wire, it was only natural to use as an alternative knotting material. Copper is the softest and easiest, but dead-soft silver may also be used.
The bracelet is worked using the “square knot”,
also known as Solomon's knot, flat knot and
sinnet.

Note: Instructions are for a 7 1/4” bracelet but other sizes given in parenthesis. If you require an 8” bracelet, instead of working 3 square knots, work 4 square knots in beginning, between beads and at end. For smaller 6 1/2” bracelet, work 2 square knots.
Materials:
· 20” of 20 ga Copper Craft Wire
· 7 ' of 26 ga Copper Craft Wire
· 9mm crow or tire beads, to accommodate two strands of 20 gauge wire, 6
· 10-12mm focal beads, to accommodate two strands of 20 gauge wire, 5

Tools:
· Round nose pliers
· Flush cutters
· Flat nose or chain nose pliers
· ruler
· Sharpie marker
· Dowel or pen

$4.50
Dimensions of the finished piece would be approx. 1 5/8" diameter (40mm). The penny is for size comparison.
My molds are made from a white high quality polymer clay . They are semi-rigid with just a little flex, just enough to pop out your impressed piece.

Although I use these molds with no release agent (I use Premo clay with the molds), you may wish to use a light coating of corn starch to the inside of the mold. Any excess corn starch can be brushed away with a soft bristle brush.

The outside dimensions of the mold may differ a little from the photo, but the mold itself is the same.
I test the molds before sending to you, to ensure quality. Because I handmade each mold, there may be slight imperfections.
The piece pictured with the mold is used for reference only and is not included in the sale. Only the mold is included in the sale.
These mold can be used with all brands of polymer clay including PMC (precious metal clay)

Make pendants, beads, use as cabochons for bead embroidery...let your imagination guide you

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:
I live by the seashore and can't help collect little bits and pieces of nature. I've created many beads, pendants and pieces of jewelry with these wonders of nature, but polymer clay is such a great material to recreate these materials, especially if you don't live anywhere near a beach.
