This is one of a series of prints i have creates in response to the environment in which i live,although it is my intention to convey a real sense of place, rather than a representation of a specific village/harbour. I live on the east coast of Scotland which is peppered with tiny quaint fishing villages and driving through them never fails to make me smile.The handsome, simple architecture is like that found nowhere else in Scotland,and I wanted to capture some of that understated beauty in this series of prints.

The linocut measures approx 33cm x19 cm, is printed using linseed oil based inks designed specifically for relief printmaking, and is printed on acid free, archival quality paper (Heritage), Signed, numbered and dated.
The image is hand drawn onto a piece of linoleum, hand cut using lino cutting tools and then hand printed. This print is one of a run of 25, I never reproduce my prints digitally so rest assured you will own one of only 25 in existance.

This is one of a series of prints i have created in response to the environment in which i live, although it is my intention to convey a real sense of place, rather than a representation of a specific village/harbour. In this one, if you look carefully, you can see some washing hung at the water's edge, (not an uncommon sight here!), hence the title.

Little Village, Hand pulled Linoprint

Much like some of my other fishing village prints Little Village it was my intention to convey a real sense of place, rather than a representation of a specific town on the east coast of Scotland. This town represents some of the buildings, Lighthouses and architecture which i have stopped to draw, in the tiny quaint fishing villages which pepper the east coast of Fife. These villages inc Ansrtuther,Ceres, Pittenweem, Tayport and Saint Andrews. The handsome, simple architecture is like that found nowhere else in Scotland,and I wanted to capture some of that understated beauty (as well as the jolly little pond in Tayport),in this print.
The print measures approx 72cm by 48cm, is printed using linseed oil based inks, designed specifically for relief printmaking and is printed on acid free, archival paper (heritage). Signed, numbered and dated.
The process of linoprinting involves hand drawing on to a piece of linoleum, using lino cutting tools to then cut the piece and finally hand printing using a Press ( the one i use is 170 yrs old but it is not neccessary to use one this old, just really rewarding to do so!).This print is numbered a/p (artist print) because although there are only 40 of them I printed others in different colours. But since there are only 25 of these prints in existance and i never reproduce my work digitally, rest assured you will own something very rare.

This is my tribute to Dundee, a city on the east coast of Scotland near where i live. Dundee, like many other coastal towns, established itself as a whaling port during the 19th century. There are still traces of its history around the town including the dock lands, see 5th image for reference although no whale!

The linocut measures approx 30 cm x14 cm, is printed using linseed oil based inks designed specifically for relief printmaking, and is printed on acid free, archival quality paper (Heritage), Signed, numbered and dated.
The process of linoprinting involves hand drawing on to a piece of linoleum, using lino cutting tools to then cut the piece and finally hand printing using a Press. This process is the repeated if neccesary, depending on the number of colours applied.

I know, I know not every one likes them but even if you don't like the real thing you can still own some in this print!

This print measures approx 13cm x 13cm, is printed using linseed oil based inks, designed specifically for relief printmaking and is printed on acid free, archival paper (Heritage). Signed, numbered and dated.
The process of linoprinting involves hand drawing on to a piece of linoleum, using lino cutting tools to then cut the piece and finally hand printing using a press. This process is repeated for each colour printed, in this case 3 colours. There are only 12 of these prints in existance and i never reproduce my work digitally, so rest assured you will own something quite unique.

Favourite Things Hand pulled Linoprint
The print measures approx 29cm by 27cm, is printed using linseed oil based inks, designed specifically for relief printmaking. Signed and numbered. It is printed on silver coloured card. The print cannot be numbered in the traditional sense, due to the roller marks used to create the tone. This is done freehand and therefor differs from print to print. It is numbered a/p (artist print) instead. I never reproduce my prints digitally so rest assured you will own one of only 6 in existance. (The text reads, a picture of you).
