Plume silk/wool shawl

This is a hand painted (not printed) silk/wool blend shawl measuring 36" x 80". Fiber content is 63%silk and 37% wool, 12.5mm weight. The fabric is semi-sheer with a diagonal weave which creates a nice drape.

The motif lines are rendered in a gold metallic gutta; gutta is a traditional silk painting medium which is rubber based. Gutta lines can be removed in the drycleaning process; I therefore recommend hand-washing only, in tepid water with a gentle cleanser. The finished piece has been "set" for color-fastness, but slight bleeding may occur so wash this item separately and only if necessary. Dry flat, and press if necessary with a cool iron set on silk or wool. I place an old pillowcase on top of the silk to protect the fabric from a potential burn.

This is a hand-painted silk handkerchief, Habotai silk 8mm weight, measuring 11 inches square. Hand wash in cool water with a mild cleanser, line dry or press dry with an iron set on Wool/Silk. The black Gutta lines may transfer under heat, so do protect your ironing board and your iron with a clean cotton sheet (an old pillowcase is great) that is expendable. Dry cleaning is not recommended for this piece.

Cherry Blossom silk scarves

This is a set of three hand-painted silk scarves that were created as a set. I designed it as a wall-hanging but they of course can be worn; this size is lovely worn in the hair. The pieces fit together to make a cohesive image, and each portion was also designed to compositionally stand alone as well. Each scarf measures 8" by 50" and is Habotai 8mm weight. Red Coral handpainted silk hanky

A Red Coral, seen as fragments through moving water. The shapes are somewhat pointed and sharp, in contrast with the fluidity of the fabric and the suggestion of water.

Measures 11" x 11", handpainted silk handkerchief. Habotai silk, 8 mm weight. Hand wash in tepid water with gentle cleanser, roll dry in a clean towel and press while damp with iron set on Silk/Wool. I like to layer a clean cotton pillowcase on top of the silk during pressing to prevent a burn.

This little piece may be framed, looks lovely under a glass tabletop, or displayed inside a beautiful ceramic bowl.

Each piece is hand-drawn and hand painted, and therefore is entirely unique.
