This is a really pretty recycled in several ways project.
The little guitars were all broken or damaged in some way. Not major damage just enough that they couldn't be sold.

The pink parts are from a damaged poinsettia plant was long in the tooth for some time as I had been ravaging it for other items for a few years. This is now the last of it.

It has a wired hanger on the back so you can hang in on your tree or wall.
It's a sweet recycled piece that is suitable for your musician in the family. If you have someone that plays guitar then this is the perfect way to share their love and your holiday spending in a very economical way.

This is a recycled or restructured item you might say.
These little guitars were all broken and ready to be tossed.

I prevented the toss and it's taken me four years or so to come up with what to do with them but finally I have thought about it.

This is a copy of an ES335 electric guitar with two F holes but the larger pick guard.
You can barely notice that though because I have covered over the area where there were little pieces missing.
You will never even think that parts are not there, that's for certain! If I didn't say it was broken I am sure you would never know -other than the strings are missing.

This one is decorated with a little greenery, red pepper berries, small cones and topped off with a silver glittered treble clef. There are faux pearl bead stands put in to give it a little balance and a red velvet bow. It comes with a white wired hanger attached at the back so you can hang it.
OR
There is a little three piece stand you can put together that I will include if you would rather have it stand. You can just bend the wire hanger out of the way. All you do is put the stick into the two holes and stand it up. The large end of course goes on the table and the small part is where the neck of the guitar fits perfectly.

If you have a musician on the gift list this just might be the coolest ornament ever! Show yours or the recipient's Christmas spirit with this remade little guitar.

This is a great milk glass plate sectioned into three.
It's a whopping 10" across.

The edging is in great shape with minimal wear on it.

Little Brown Jugs a Pair of them in different sizes Xmas Sale Price Reduced

these are vintage jugs in the sense that I have owned them since mid eighties. I was on a kick to collect a whole range of these types of jugs for my big kitchen window. I did actually have five of them in different sizes and saying and makers. But unfortunately for me our last move took out the three larger ones.

So I felt my little guys were lonely and uncared for so I felt it's time to pass them on. My cats have over taken that window so there is no room for them anymore. At least not in a small two bedroom mobile home.

They are a funny pair of jugs and by no means match other than colour and shape.

The larger one is 5.5" tall with it's original cork I believe as I have never even tried to take it out. It does come from Canada and depicts one of the best treats there is on earth. MAPLE SYRUP.

The picture depicts a horse drawn sled with a barrel of the sweet stuff moving from one tree to the next. It says very plainly MAPLE SYRUP in English=and then again in French. MACTQUAC, N.B. CANADA
Even has the licence 3240 on it to depict it's authentic and also supervised and inspected.

I do have a feeling this was made in the 1960's or later because we had French put on everything in the early 60's.
So you know it's truly Canadian.
There are no marks as to the company that made this jug but it's pretty special.

The other jusg is smaller at 4.5" high with it's original cork I beleive also as it's been there since I bought the jug.
But this is where it gets a little strange.
The jug says...

Dowlish Wake.

What it means I have no idea but can get a pretty good picture in my head.
I purchased this one because it was the smallest one I found at the time.

They are both crockery jugs and pretty cool.

I thought of selling them singly but they have been together in my house for so long I think it's just plain right to let them go together.

I hate to pass them up because I have grown so fond of them but the timing is right.

Vintage HOBNAIL Fruit Bowl and Three Nappies Xmas Sale Price Reduced

This is an incredibly cool set of vintage dishes.
The pattern is classic hobnail design on the outside of the dish and the cool little surprise is the hand painted pansies
on the inside of each bowl.
The hobnail edges are all perfectly pointed and no chips or crazing in any of them.
I believe this is pressed glass but I'm not sure if they are depression glass though as I have not been able to track down any other items to compare it with.

But I know you will definitely love to use them and show of the elegance of a time gone by.

They each have a gold guilt on the top edges. Of course through the years and washing them gently the gold has begun to wear off a little but there is still so much life left in these beautiful bowls. The colour is still vibrant and would make a great arrangement on the table.

The large bowl is 11" across from the cornered handle to handle. The edge of the bowl is 9" across and the underside of it is 5inches wide.

The nappies are 9" across on the top of the bowl and 2.5" across on the bottom.

I am going to way overestimate the cost on shipping to include insurance but I will definitely refund the difference if it's over three dollars.

Rubber Dolly 17 inch one piece rubber body closing eyes Xmas Sale Price Reduced

This sleeping doll is 17" tall or 43cms.
She is a one piece body with a moving head. Her eyes close when laying down but stay open when standing up.

I can't tell you if this is her original dress or shoes. She was given to me to throw away. She apparently has had one owner for all these years. So instead of tossing here I will sell her and take the previous owner out for lunch.
(She has early onset Alzheimers and will love it)

She is not in perfect condition. Her dress does have a stain here or there and a rip in the net overdress. I have shown this in the photos. Her hands do show some dirt but may wash clean. I have not cleaned her or decided to change her in any way. I know collectors like things left as is so I will leave that up to you.

She does have underwear on though and I've perhaps scandalously shown them and her crinoline in one of the pictures. Her shoes are high heels and are tied on with regular butcher's string.(according to owner)

I think I took a shining to her because I think I had one similar to her as a girl. (a few moons ago)

Pre Printed Girl and Boy Doll DIY

This is a set of dolls a girl named Amanda and her friend or brother. She with her brown eyes and braids and he has blue eyes and sailor's blues and show boat hat.

I bought these some years ago in a thrift shop precut and planned to make them into a gift for a neighbor's daughter's birthday.
My son was mortified he had to go to her party and that it was not a purchased gift. (if mom made it then it wasn't a gift. But he had no idea I had made another doll and used that one instead.

These doll panels have been moved half way across Canada a couple of times and even more!
I've had them for twenty years I think. My son is now 26!

They came already cut out and with no instructions. I worked at that time in a fabric store and knew how easy they would be to sew up in a jiffy.

They are both 18" tall and 9.5" wide. That's 45cm. X 24cm. wide. Their width will depend on how thick you stuff them.

All that has to be done is pin them together right sides together and stitched, from a certain spot all away around
to leave an opening big enough to get your hand with a mitt full of stuffing and keep filling up the doll until it takes shape. It's usually much easier to sew the opening closed by hand.

Then repeat to complete the other doll. Now you have a gift for Christmas done! This would be perfect for a small child to drag around because it could be thrown in the washer and dryer.

Or another gift idea is for your young recipient who was getting a sewing machine for Christmas. Give these and a card with a promise of a few lessons and your one gift becomes two or three gifts!

this is an adorable cream coloured dress straight out of the sixties! In brand new condition- I don't think it's ever been worn. It features cuff sleeves. The V neckline is embellished with three buttons as are the mock pockets.
Not a single thread out of place on this little baby.
It is lined and has two mock pockets that match the cuff on the sleeves and the front yolk. It is lined as well.
One thing about this dress I've never seen before is it has two spare buttons under the left sleeve. Most extra buttons are under the hem line somewhere but this is a new one to me.
Has a back zipper 18" long.
****I have been calling this a dress but I think it's really a top! Wear it with your footless tights or slim pants. Or even over bell bottoms! How cool would that look be?

This is a lovely and ornate perfume bottle with a flare shaped lid. The lid has a four inch Glass dabber on it.
The colours are mostly gold and clear.

The bottle itself is six inches long and with the dabber in it it stands seven and a half inches total.

There is a little wear on the dabber where it fits into the bottle.
A very befitting bottle for I dream of Jeanie! Are any of you out there old enough to remember that show?

I think it is blown glass and has very visual shapes starting at the bottom it's almost a shot glass shape then up to the centre component it has bits of glass ornamentation on the outside of the bottle. Then that comes up to the larger centre bowl and up to the neck of the bottle.

I hope my pictures will show you just how beautiful this really is.

Oh what to do with these lovely vintage handkerchiefs? Here's a perfect idea to put them on display.
This is a lovely pale yellow organza apron featuring a vintage handkerchief on it's bottom edge. The handkerchief features yellow and white flowers and a little touch of pink.
From the top of the band to the lower edge of the bottom edge is 181/2". The waist band totals 68" in length. There are a few minor flaws in the ties of the waistband but over all it's in fabulous condition.
wow looking at these pictures it's clear I should have taken it out of the tissue paper and pressed it first!

Vintage Book The Virginian by Owen Wister

This is a book that I came across about eight years ago and it got packed away during a move and was presumed lost.

It's a very different book in that it has very large lettering, I think that is what caught my eye.

It did have some issues and a bit of damage I presumed was from a mouse. I show this on the cover in one of the pictures.

It was put together in 1968 with a note to Theodore Roosevelt.

It's a good read and has several side notes on many of the pages like the one on page 7. It mentions False Front. In many western towns buildings were built with false fronts: to make them seem taller than they really were.
Another shows part of the leg just above the hoof, It shows the fetlock and the pastern.
Another one tells of the spurs and the rowels.
Interesting little facts.

There are a total of 36 chapters as well as the Backword.
These are very short chapters as there are only a total 282 pages.

this bag is made from a friend's turquoise vinyl pants that she burnt a hole in and couldn't wear anymore. Silly girl-- but ever the recycler- Me - I spoke up! Now she wants them back! Not a chance but here's your chance to own something totally unique!
The vinyl is a snake skin print and really striking! It will catch someone's eye from quite a distance! Especially with the shiny black four and half inch heel! It has a one inch sole as well. A beautiful very comfortable twenty one inch black leather and silver chain strap. The strap which was a belt has been riveted onto the outside of the purse for more visual excitement and includes the actual buckle.
The outside pockets are made from an old play boy magazine print bathing suit wrap I found in a thrift shop. Just had to marry the print and the high heel together! They screamed out to each other the second I brought them together beside the sewing machine! What else could I do?
Opening the zipper reveals a very durable white nylon lining with two 5x4" pockets.
This is a very solid and sturdy purse that will hold everything you need to carry! (I've been told it would make a great self defense weapon but I'm not advocating violence-- but if ever found in that situation!)
There is no way on earth you could walk down the street with this shoe purse and not be noticed!! So be prepared with the answer "some smart woman on etsy made this!" this is a fabulous home made purse from a shoe. It features beautiful women's faces all in soft blues and white with some silver threads running through out.
The name for this purse was made by MajorTommy for his ideas. I loved what he contributed.

this is a NEW shoe purse! It's taken forever and a day to get another one listed.
This is a black and white checked fabric with two pockets on outside five and half inch by six inch and one inside five by five.
It features a really cool shoulder strap that totals thirty nine inches in length.
It has a soft real leather shoulder section measuring ten inches. It's very comfortable to wear on the shoulder.
The fun squares are recycled from an old belt that was broken in several sections but I bought the bag of it thinking there had to be a way to use these -they were so cool!
From table top to top of purse at the toe is nine and half inches. The black heal is four and half inches high. I can't imagine being able to walk in these babies! OUCH!
It features nice black and white specked braid around the top of the bag.

This bag is made from a friend's black glossy pleather pants that she thought would fit her! Well they were fine until she did up the zipper! They split right there in front of us all. I yelled another shoe purse coming up! She was reluctant to hand over her pants but then she remembered the turquoise pants that she sheepishly handed over to me!
I did splendidly with the first pair so again in the name of recycling I was able to come up with something wonderful!
This also feature a white glossy belt for a shoulder strap.
The belt portion of the shoulder strap is 22". Has a white nylon 8" zipper closure.
The back of the bag features a white and gold buckle two inches high.
One pocket on the outside is a five sided pocket of the play boy fabric covered with clear plastic for durability.
One pocket is 4" by 4.5 inches. On the other side of the bag is a knock out pocket that is five sided. The opening across the top is 7" wide and 4.5" at the bottom of the pocket. Both pockets are bound in rayon binding.
Table to top of purse is nine and half inches tall.
Inside of the purse there is a pocket 4" wide and 6" wide. Other pocket is 4" by 5' deep. Lining is long lasting cordura fabric.

Dutch Blue Windmill and Boat Spice Cabinet Set of Six

This is something that was given to me as a young girl. (not dating myself yet!)
This is a self contained cabinet holding six spice jars.
Only a couple do not have their original corks in the bottom.
Something I was never aware of!

The cabinet holds Nutmeg, Reserve, Paprika, Cloves, Pepper and Salt.
I have to be honest here I have no idea what the Reserve on is about. This tells you that I have never used it.
I just packed it up and took it with me every move I ever made across Canada. And believe me we moved a lot!

I decided it's time to move on with out this time. It's still a very sweet set and someone with a blue kitchen would love this! (mine is green)

this is a 1965 Fisher Price wooden pull toy. A jaunty smiling clown with his red and white striped suit and over sized shoes.
His head is wood painted white with a big clown smile.
He looks like a happy fellow.

His jalopy is a wood car covered in paper with the words
FISHER PRICE JALOPY on both sides.

One side has a little wear and tear on it at the top of the car where the paper has come away a bit.

The jalopy also sports a yellow plastic front grill, windshield, and folded down roof.

The big over sized bright orange wheels are in quite good shape for its age.

He does have a string pull but I am sure it's not original.

If you are a toy collector or want a fun reminder of your childhood this guy should fit the bill.

this is a lovingly home made top in a stretch knit with the main colours being red, pink,navy, gold and some white.

It features a peter pan collar that is a whopping 3" long. It lays beautifully over the chest.
The neckline to hem is 23 3/4".
Under arm to under arm across chest is 21".
Sleeves are 21" long.
Shoulders are 4 1/2".
The zipper although a little stiff is 13" long.

The hand stitching is expertly done but is coming a little loose in a few spots like on the zipper. This is very minor
and easily repairable.

Definitely a true sixties top and very cool for everyday dress or even a costume.

cooler weather is coming sooner than we think and this is just the right prescription for that.
This is a very large piece of fabric 65" wide and 68" long.
It is big enough to make a fleece outfit for your little girl who's a skater runner or outdoor enthusiast.

The inside is so soft. The prints are flocked. The running shoes, skates, socks and gloves are puffy on a turquoise background.
It's perfect for a pair of pants and top or skirt.
The colours are bright purple, red, and pink. It's a really big piece of fabric and I can't honestly say if there is some acrylic or polyester in it.
It's one of those things that I bought a long time ago and had it stashed. Then pulled it out and though why did I buy this I never had girls! I always figured I would get around to make an outfit for another little girl but I just never got around to it.

This is a huge piece of fabric in spots and circles in white and black that blends into grays. I am calling it a leopard print but it really isn't. At least I don't think so. But it's the closest I can come to actually explain it.

I can't say what kind of fabric this is because I bought it years ago in a thrift store and had it stashed for so long.

At this point I am being a good wife and getting rid of fabric so I can be guiltless buying more without getting caught. (he thinks it's because he told me to....;) but you won't tell on me will you?

I loved this piece and always thought I'd make a long jacket out of it. Also figured a short skirt and jacket would use the fabric to it's full advantage. It's that cool!

It measures 60" X 65" or 152cm X 163cm so there's plenty there for what ever you would like to make. Plus the flip side is equally exciting! See the last photo.

VINTAGE Two Pc. Candle Holder made in Japan

this is a beautiful pink rose candle holder that has a second accent! Both pieces are beautiful pink with gold accents and marked made in Japan.
This set was given as a wedding gift in 1946.

The base rose has only one very minor chip on one petal and what I didn't know until I took pictures was the top part appears to have been broken and then glued together.
You don't actually see it when it's on the candle though.
I will show these two areas in a picture.

The base is a full four inches wide and there is candle wax inside but I chose not to clean it out since the only way I know of is to put it in the freezer and then the wax will come out. (problem is my freezer is too full at the moment with stuff for a wedding)

The top flower that rests half way down the candle is four inches long as well. It has the same beautiful rose as the base as well as to rose buds and the leaves and stem.

Just a beautiful set. I actually thought the top piece could be used as a napkin holder but then why would there only be one piece?

this is a 70's vintage carnival glass scalloped edged plate with that great carnival glass iridescence!

I should say I believe this to be carnival glass.
But that said there were fakes made all the time. There are no marks that indicate the maker. It was mostly made by Fenton in the 70's but was not always marked.

These pieces were purchased in the mid 70's new. It came from a family clearing out their mother's house. She loved collecting!

Vintage Childs Wool Cut Work Vest

this is absolutely beautiful.

The story I got was this was made or bought by a grandmother waiting for the first grandchild to grow into it so she put it away. This was during the late eighties. But she passed away without it ever going to the child.

It was in a truck I purchased.

This is pure wool in a warm beige colour. It does have nicely sewn darts in the front. It's been bound by deep red binding with zigzag stitching.

The incredible detail in the trim is amazing.
The cut work has been cut with pinking sheers and carefully stitched onto the front of the vest. In the back there is one great section at the bottom of the back.

It really is beautiful work and I'm sure my pictures will not do it justice.

I have no idea what the size is but from the back of the neck to the bottom of the binding is 18 inches.
Underarm to underarm across the front is sixteen inches.

Armhole binding is sixteen inches.

this is great fabric and it falls into the ""What was I thinking "" question. The reason I say this is because I thought it would make a nice roomy comfy dress BUT I am only 4'10" So why did I buy so much and hoarded it for so long?

This piece is a whopping 54" wide by 164" long!
This translates to 54" wide by 4.5 yards. Or 137 centimeters wide by 4.2. metres! Why I needed that much I will never understand.

It has a great African or Trinidad style of print to it. At least that is what I thought it was. If I am completely wrong here please convo me and correct me. I really would appreciate it.

It has lots of warm colours in it including beige, brown,orange,dark and light blue with bits of green in it.
It runs in vertical stripes.

I have had it for so long that I don't remember what it is but I am pretty sure it's a cotton since it rips so straight.

this drop dead darling little dress is from the seventies and sports multi coloured circles spots and rings.

The colours include red, white, green and yellow.

The tag reads 100% nylon size 12.

It's a very comfortable dress and light weight.
The hem line is beautifully detailed with lace.

It has a very nice drape to it and lovely flare at the hem.

After taking pictures of this dress there is a tiny flaw that I only noticed once I had taken ten or so pictures.

The last picture shows a pin hole size hole just near one of the buttons on the front.
It honestly doesn't detract from the dress at all.

If I wasn't so old and round I'd be keeping this one!!

It fits a 38" bust comfortably.
It has the original tag firmly attached reading Mode Le Maurice.

It's in great shape for it's age and has no visible stains. There are a few spots where the gold threads have been pulled slightly but no problems that would detract from it's beauty.
