Newly Hatched Notecards Set of 4

Early last spring our hens hatched nine chicks. Here are four of my favorite images of the offspring.

The first chick of the year (the yellow one) is only a few hours old in this photo and was well hidden under the mother hen, who was still sitting on the rest of her eggs.

The other three photos are of Goldie, our Golden-Laced Wyandotte, who managed to sneak off and hatch eight chicks.

Each card is printed on ivory cardstock, with a sheet of vellum hand-tied inside with cotton floss. The vellum is the type you can write on, in case you're wondering; I was, so I tested it for felt-tip, roller-ball, ballpoint, and pencil.

Each card also includes a clean feather from one of our hens. Since every feather is unique, the photos here are only representative, but I assure you that the ones I've chosen are all quite lovely. (If you'd prefer featherless cards, simply let me know.)

Cards are each 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches (11 x 14 cm). Set of four different images (images as shown) with matching envelopes. Cards are blank inside for your message.

This is what happens when Ultraman takes the keys to your jet. I think the little guy make have to hitch a ride from the helicopter pilot.

I knit this brown-sugar-coloured cabled hat from Shetland sheepswool and soft llama yarn that I handspun myself. The natural Shetland is undyed and blended with llama fiber specially donated by Lacey and Switzer, two of our llamas. It is one of a kind, as it is knit from an improvised pattern of my own design.

The Sugrr Hat fits me comfortably at 21 inches (53 cm) around the head at brim and would easily suit a small to medium adult.
