Small original silk fiber art wall hanging

$50.00
This original 5x5 inch piece of fiber art was part of the "Go Green" challenge published in the Aug./Sept. issue of Quilting Arts Magazine. The challenge was limited to the 5x5 size and participants were asked to use recycled/ reclaimed items to create their small pieces of fiber art. This piece was also part of the "Go Green" exhibit in Long Beach, CA as well as Houston, TX.

Every element for my piece of fiber art is reclaimed/recycled material including the batting. The piece is primarily reclaimed vintage kimono silk and includes some of the following within the piece: onion skins, vintage chiffon scarf, found object, reclaimed bamboo, used tea bag. The piece was machine stitched with some hand embellishment added. It contains an organza pocket on the back containing my information.

I'm sure this piece will be well loved by a new owner. It's a really beautiful and tactile piece in real life.
