Handwoven shawl

This shawl was designed and woven by me, the Ozweaver. It features a woven pattern that requires a supplemental warp, and this pattern shows on both sides of the shawl. This shawl drapes beautifully due to the fine materials used, and the finished size is 13" x 76", not including the 4" fringe on each side which is hand twisted and knotted. The colors are pewter, soft terracotta, bronze, dull eggplant, with a touch of black and off-white.

I have been weaving for over 30 years now and still get a thrill from the endless possibilities of weave structure and color.

Black Chenille/Rayon shawl

A small shawl made from rayon chenille and silk. The differing textures of the silk and chenille, as well as the sheen of the silk gives this shawl wonderful visual interest as well as having a luxurious drape.

17 1/2" wide
68" long (not counting 5" hand twisted fringe at each end)

The color in the close up photo is not accurate, but does show the differing qualities of the silk and chenille. This shawl is jet black.

Handwoven Scarf Turquoise Ripples

This scarf was woven by hand, by me, in a pattern that creates undulating curves. The warp is space dyed with almost every color of the rainbow in it, and the turquoise weft makes some of the colors just sing!

The materials in this scarf are 50% silk and 50% rayon. It drapes beautifully. It is the perfect weight for spring and autumn, as well as cool summer evenings, or winter days in climates that are not bitterly cold.

Size:W7.5" x L62", not including 5.5" fringe at each end

On my monitor the photo of the fringe has the most accurate color.

merino/silk handwoven scarf

This scarf was designed and woven by me, the Ozweaver. It drapes well due to the fine merino wool and silk fibers of the yarn (50/50 blend). The colors are black and two shades of teal (medium and dark) which creates visual interest. The size is 53" long by 10" wide, not including the 2" fringe at each end which was hemstitched by hand. This scarf works well for either a man or a woman.

The weave structure of this scarf is a complex twill that I call "shafts of wheat," and it requires a multi-harness loom and some weaving expertise. I have been weaving for over 30 years now and still get a thrill from the endless possibilities of weave structure and color.
