This is a gorgeous bead. Such deep rich colors - from the base color which is a swirled mix of rust and caramel to the dots that range in color from cream to blues, pinks and purples. I then accented the bead with dots of a special metallic glass. Beautiful!!

This bead was made on a large hole mandrel and will fit on any of the European style chains such as Pandora, Troll or Biagi. **Note -the last picture shows several of these large hole beads on a Biagi chain, just to show how beautiful these beads look together. The other beads, and the chain are NOT included in this listing. If you would like more than one of these beads, just send me a convo and I would be happy to do a custom order for you.

The Details -

This bead was made on a 5/32" mandrel by me in my home studio. It measures approx. 12mm x 20mm.

Isn't this adorable?! I was playing around at the torch a couple of days ago and thought it would be fun to do a birdhouse. I made a couple of them and then decided that one of my little birds like the ones I make for the "three little birds" necklaces would look super cute perched on top of a house... and this is the result! If you, or anyone you know is a bird lover, or a lover of anything cute, then this is PERFECT for them!

The Details -

Both the birdhouse and the bird were handmade by me in my home studio. I then put them together in this pendant using sterling silver wire and beads. The heart dangle at the bottom is also sterling silver. The pendant measures approx. 45mm from the top of the bird to the bottom of the heart. The silver plated ball chain IS included in the listing - it measures 16".

As with all of the beads in my shop, the beads used in this pendant have been properly kiln annealed, cleaned and inspected.

Daisy and Ladybug Lampwork Focal Bead - Carlabeads

This is an ADORABLE bead! A pretty white daisy-like hand sculpted flower with a cute little ladybug perched on top. :) The center of the flower is made with a small amount of gold dichroic glass for an extra bit of sparkle! The flower is sculpted on a base bead that is a tab shape, with a small leaf added to the back of the bead... the leaf helps keep the bead from flipping over when worn.

The Details -

This bead measures aprox. 27mm across (add another 7mm at the point where the leaf is), and was made on a 1/16" mandrel.

All of the beads in my shop have been properly kiln annealed, cleaned and inspected.

This is such a beautiful bead. I used a special glass that is made with a lot of fine silver, which when heated and cooled a certain way in the flame of the torch produces some amazing colors and effects. When topped with clear, it looks just like opals with a shimmery irridescent effect. I have made quite a few of this style of bead over the last few days, and as I was making them thought that they look like jewels...jewels fit for a queen. :)

The Details -

This bead was made by me in my home studio using a 3/16" mandrel. It measures approx. 11mm hole to hole and 20mm across. It will fit on a Pandora, Troll or Biagi Bracelet/Necklace. The chain pictured is a Biagi chain and it is NOT included in this listing.

Believe - Cross Pendant - Tattoo Inspired - Carlabeads

This is a fantastic pendant! I have been looking at a lot of tattoo art lately, and just love the scrollwork, intricate designs that you see in a lot of tattoos. I love "painting" with glass, and scrollwork and small detail stringer work is probably my favorite technique to use when making beads... This cross pendant is the first of a few of my tattoo inspired beads that I will be listing.

This bead is 100% glass - no paint was used in it's creation - I use very small "stringers" of glass to draw on the bead to create the intricate pattern. The back side of this cross bead is decorated in a scrollwork pattern.

The details - this pendant is ready to wear. The bead itself measures 24mm x 22mm. I wire wrapped it into a simple pendant, which hangs from a pretty rolo style chain
with a gunmetal finish. The chain measures 18" and closes with a lobster clasp.

This bead was made by me in my home studio and has been properly kiln annealed, cleaned and inspected.

I get so many requests for my "Sakura" Cherry blossom set -a set of red beads adorned with white and pink cherry blossoms, that I decided to start doing them in different shapes and colors. This set of gorgeous lentil shaped beads turned out so pretty! They have a very Asian look, and remind me of my trip to Japan when the cherry trees were all in bloom. :) I love the pink cherry blossoms, the black "branches" over the stark contrast of the white base bead... Perfect for a beautiful bracelet or necklace.

The details -

This set includes five Cherry Blossom beads and six black spacer beads. The cherry blossom beads each measure approx. 16mm x 16mm, and the spacer beads 7mm x 10mm. They were made by me in my home studio on 1/16" mandrels.

Are you a fang banger? Twilight freak? Vampire fan? If so, then you will LOVE this necklace! This necklace is similar to my peace, love, happiness charm necklace... but with fangs! (Apparently there is a rogue vampire hanging out in my studio, waiting to turn unsuspecting smiley face beads into vamps!)

The Details -

The beads in this necklace were made by me in my home studio. They are all glass - no paint! The peace and vampire beads measure 12mm top to bottom and the heart (complete with droplets of blood!) measures 15mm top to bottom. I used all sterling silver findings to create
each charm. The chain is an 18" stainless steel ball chain.

As with all of the beads in my shop, the beads in this necklace have been properly kiln annealed, cleaned and inspected.

Ancient Tides -Lampwork Bead Set

These beads are just waiting to be turned into something wonderful! They are so pretty and would make a fantastic bracelet or necklace. The lentil shaped beads were made witha base of ivory, then I did scroll work using a special glass that contains lots of fine silver, which creates the wonderful crackled aged effect - I LOVE the way these turned out! The small spacer/accent beads are a lovely marine blue that has striations of light and dark blue throughout, then accented with a band of silvered ivory.

The Details - this set consists of five lentil shaped beads, and 6 spacer/accent beads. The lentils measure approx. 15mm hole to hole and 17mm across. The spacers measure approx. 8mm hole to hole and 11mm across. They were made on a 1/16" mandrel.

As with all of the beads in my shop, these beads have been properly kiln annealed, cleaned and inspected.

Hydrangea Blooms - Lampwork Bead Pendant Ready To Wear

This is one of my most popular bead designs - the Hydrangea. I absolutely love hydrangeas, but can't grow them here in hot Las Vegas, so I do the next best thing - I make them in glass. :)

This simple, yet beautiful pendant is adorned with several blossoms in various shades of blue, with a few leaves scattered throughout the bead. I made it into a pendant that is ready to wear on a chain or cord using all sterling silver findings.

This bead measures approx. 18mm top to bottom, and is approx. 18mm across.

This button shaped bead is from my "ornate" series. This bead is layer upon layer of glass in gorgeous earthy shades, accented by dots of fine silver.

I called this bead "a river runs through it" because of the gorgeous ribbon of blue/green glass that flows around the bead. The color is amazing - even better in person than can be captured in a picture!

This bead measures approx. 24mm from hole to hole and 26mm across. It was made on a 1/16" mandrel.

Raku Rounds - Lampwork Bead Set - Carlabeads

These five round beads were made using the wonderful Raku glass - the colors are fantastic! After swirling the raku glass around each bead, I finished them off with super thin trails of black glass, which is a perfect accent and brings out the amazing colors!

Three pretty flowers ready for you to make into a bracelet, necklace, or use each alone as a focal bead!

Each flower measures approx 23mm across and was made on a 1/16" mandrel by me in my home studio. I sculpt the flowers by hand so each one is unique. The flowers are sculpted on a base bead that is a tab shape and have a bit of dichroic glass in the centers for some extra sparkle! :)

This flower is gorgeous! I love how the aqua glass blends with the white - it's almost like a watercolor painting! So pretty! This is a beautiful bead!! I love to make beads with a nature theme, and butterflies and flowers are two of my favorite subjects! This bead features a lovely multi-colored garden of flowers accented with green vines and leaves, with two pretty butterflies flitting over the garden. The color of the base bead is difficult to see in the pictures because it's so light - it's a beautiful swirled mint green and white. This bead would make a gorgeous centerpiece in a larger beaded creation, or would make a stunning focal bead all by itself on a simple chain.

This is such a rich, earthy bead - perfect for the fall! The base of a golden honey caramel color is adorned with swirls of a special silver-laden glass which has subtle color shifts from a deep rust with a hint of pink, to a beautiful copper, and a shimmery irridescense. I thought it would be appropriate to commemorate the anniversary of Woodstock with a bead, so decided to make this heart. :) It's super groovy! I love how the flowers just pop against the black heart. The colors of the flowers - coraly orange, periwinkle and mint green go so well together! Adorable!

This birdy is singing away in the treetops... at least that's what I imagine he's doing. :) This cute focal bead was made on a base of ivory, the tree was made using a special glass which contains a lot of fine silver, and turns different colors with an irridescent sheen. Sitting on the branch singing away is a cute little blackbird. Both sides of the bead have this design, each slightly different. Aphrodite is the Goddess of Love and Beauty... these beads reminded me of Greece when I was making them - I've never been to Greece (I would LOVE to go someday...), but the ivory and light blue together reminded me of pictures I have seen of Greece, with the blue ocean and whitewashed houses... So beautiful and soothing. This gorgeous set of beads consists of 7 smaller lentil shaped beads and one larger, focal sized lentil bead. There are tons of design possibilities with this set of beads!

The Details -

Old Love - Lampwork Heart Focal Bead

I called this bead "Old Love" because of the cool crackle effect - it reminds me of old vintage pottery. :) The crackle effect is achieved by using ivory glass and silver together - the ivory sort of "curdles" when super heated, then the silver fumes the ivory and deposits into the "cracks". I love the effect!

This heart is one of my Ornate style beads - organic, earthy colors of ivory and coral with layers of various silver glass (silver glass is special glass that contains a LOT of fine silver and as a result, depending on the flame chemistry of your torch, you can achieve various colors and effects with it). These organic colors are layered carefully in a specific order, then I add twists and dot accents as the finishing touch.

The Details -

This bead was made by me in my home studio and measures approx. 18mm top to bottom and 20mm accross. It is one of my smaller sized focals. This is a beautiful focal bead! Expanding on my popular Sakura or Cherry Blossom beads, I decided to make a line of focal beads using Japanese Kanji. The first in the series, is this bead, with Kanji that reads "Sakura" - which means "Cherry Blossom" in Japanese. I have also decorated this bead with a scattering of cherry blossoms, and dots of pure fine silver as an accent - so pretty!! I will be unveiling more Kanji beads in the next few days, so stay tuned. :)

This is such a unique set of beads! I used a base of ivory, then topped it with frit (tiny pieces of crushed glass) of a special glass that contains a lot of silver, so it reacts with the ivory creating a super intense turquoise color as well as the darker black veining. This glass was then swirled together then topped with tiny dots of pure fine silver. These beads remind me of a stormy sea. So many design possibilities!

The Details -

This set includes 7 beads, which are slightly graduated in size. The smallest two beads measure approx. 13mm x 12mm and the largest 15mm x 14mm. They were made on a 1/16" mandrel by me in my home studio.

This is an awesome bead!! I used a special glass with a high silver content which produces an amazing array of colors in the heat of the torch. I then top it with clear to further bring out and magnify the colors. It is layered over a base bead of ivory which takes on a lovely caramel color when used with this silver glass.

I have a bead very similar to this that I wear on a chain and get SO many compliments on it - it can be worn with almost any color outfit since there are so many colors in the glass. I made this bead on a larger 1/8" mandrel so it will fit right on a 2mm cord or chain.

This heart is probably one of my favorite hearts I have ever made. The colors that I used just blend so perfectly together. The twistie of a special silver glass called Aurae encased with clear has an amazing opalescent sheen that is just gorgeous! There are so many layers of various types/colors of glass in this heart, and it is accented by tiny dots of fine silver which are melted directly onto the bead during the torching process. It would be a perfect accent to any outfit. This heart would make a stunning focal piece to any jewelry project!

WILD Flower Lampwork TUTORIAL

This is a TUTORIAL for my popular "Wild"Flower. I have been asked several times to teach how to do this popular flower design, so I thought I would go ahead and put out a tutorial for it!

This tutorial is mainly for the intermediate/advanced lampworker, but if you are just starting out you will also get a lot out of it. :)

If you are a Hothead user, you CAN use this tutorial! :)

There are a few basic tools that are recommended, but not required, such as a petal puller or mashers, and a coffee mug warmer. The only thing I would definitely recommend is that you have a kiln that you can immediately put your flower in after you are finished making it. These flowers don't like to be cooled in a fiber blanket or vermiculite. :)

When I look at this bead I think of lying in a meadow with tall green grass and wildflowers surrounding me, looking up at a big blue sky, a cool breeze blowing, butterflies dancing from flower to flower, a ladybug crawling up a blade of grass... aaahh...

I love making beads that represent nature. These landscape beads are one of my favorite beads to make because I can jam pack a LOT of my favorite things all into one bead. Each of these landscape type beads take me at least an hour to make (this one took about an hour and a half...) and when i'm making them I get lost in the bead - each scene coming to life in my head.

The details -

This bead is a large focal size heart. It measures approx. 25mm from hole to hole, and 25mm across at the widest point of the heart. It was made on a 1/16" mandrel.

Lampwork Daisy Ladybug Ponytail Holder - SRA

I have had so many people tell me that they LOVE my beads, but they don't wear jewelry so don't know what they would do with a bead... SO - I decided to make beads that I could turn into ponytail holders!

This ponytail holder is made with an adorable bead in my popular daisy/ladybug design. The bead measures 28mm across at the widest point. The hair elastic is very securely epoxied into the bead. It will withstand some
water, but you should not swim or shower while wearing it.

Twisted - Lampwork Focal Pendant - Necklace

This beautiful bead is so unique! I made it using a base of ivory glass, then using a special silver laden glass, I added twists around the whole bead - creating a braided effect. The silver laden glass produces the most amazing colors when worked in the flame of the torch, and also turns the base of ivory glass a pretty honey caramel color.

This pendant was made with antique copper finding and INCLUDES an 18" antique copper rolo chain. The bead itself measures approx. 18mm hole to hole and 23mm across. It was made by me in my home studio.

Pink Passion Lampwork Flower Focal Bead

Do you love pink? If so, this bead is for you! :) This is a pretty focal sized lampwork flower bead that would be perfect for your spring and summer outfits! This bead would look great either wire wrapped into a simple pendant, or used as a focal piece in a beautiful beaded creation.

This bead measures approx. 28mm across (add an extra 5mm for the leaf) and was made on a 1/16" mandrel. I hand sculpt these flowers on a base bead that is a tab shape, and add a leaf on the back - the leaf helps keep the bead
from flipping over when worn. The center of the flower is a pretty green/purple dichroic and adds the perfect amount of bling!

All of my beads are made by me in my home studio and have been properly kiln annealed, cleaned and inspected. :)

I found this beauty tucked away in one of my bead boxes that I hadn't emptied since my last show. I think this is
such a pretty bead that you could do a LOT with as a designer... I can imagine it as a pretty focal piece in a necklace, or as a larger focal bead in a bracelet. The white background and soft watercolor look to the flowers is just perfect to design with!
