Here is a generous bump of 3.6 ounces of bouncy wool romney roving, hand dyed with professional dye in variegated hues of blue, purple and pink. Great for handspinning, felting, weaving or other fiber crafts.

With Arizona temperatures well above 100 degrees this time of year, I use a solar dyeing technique and time my dyebaths to coincide with the hottest summer days. It's easiest on the environment and also yields these wonderful well saturated colors that have been kissed with sunshine. The solar dyebaths get so hot during the daytime that I can't even remove the fiber from the dyebath until it's had a chance to cool off overnight!

My raw wool is obtained from free range or pasture raised sheep here in Arizona.

Here is a hank of 3.1 ounces of bouncy wool romney roving, hand dyed with professional dye in variegated hues of cherry red.

This hank color coordinates perfectly with R02 and R03, which were created with the same dyelot.

Great for handspinning, felting, weaving or other fiber crafts.

With Arizona temperatures well above 100 degrees this time of year, I use a solar dyeing technique and time my dyebaths to coincide with the hottest summer days. It's easiest on the environment and also yields these wonderful well saturated colors that have been kissed with sunshine. The solar dyebaths get so hot during the daytime that I can't even remove the fiber from the dyebath until it's had a chance to cool off overnight!

Those of you who visited my artist booth at the Sunnyslope Artwalk in October will recognize this skein as the one i was working on while I talked with you that Saturday night! Hopefully the skein's infused with the fun we all had at that event - looking forward to the next one!

My wool is gathered from free range and pasture raised sheep right here in Arizona. I solar dye it using the hot Arizona summer sun (no standing over a hot stove, hooray!) to achieve the hues you see here.

Here's a little sampler of 2 skeins handspun solar dyed wool thick n thin yarn. This lot includes:

3.3 ounce skein of olive green wrapped with a thin strand of lemon yellow .

2.2 ounce mini skein in hues of olive green, black and a bit of white. Intentionally overspun to create a loopy texture that is suitable to accent a highly textured project or a collapse weave project.
