This is really a beautifully made bag...wool orange and rust yarn was used to make the bag, giving it a slightly swirled effect of different shades of the rust and orgage. It is trimmed and decorated with a coordinating eyelash yarn for the handles, around the edges/trim and then pulled/speckled throughout the rest of the bag. I just love the little dangling fringy effect the eyelash yarn adds to the overall look of the bag! I see it as an evening bag...but certainly it works for any casual day outting! It's your bag, so you take it where you like!

This has been in my "to sell" box for too long now...it was the first quilt I made...so guess it was sorta sentimental somehow. However, it's just hiding away in a box...not what it was meant to do! So....

Hope this bright quilt, made up of so many cheery yellows, lime greens, oranges, browns finds a happy home! It's essentially a chunky strip quilt with all sorts of fun patterns, squiggles, circles, triangles, dots...all bordered with a bright yellow (thick) blanket binding. The backing is a beige flannel with brown wording about nurturing, seedlings, tending to growth - PERFECT for a new baby! I used a natural cotton batting for the inside. It's just cute as can be! Measures 28 x 32, so perfect for the stroller, on your lap, in the car!

Since I have been holding on to this one, I am listing it for less than I should =) The price does not reflect anything other than my desire for it to find a home =)

Here is another huge hooded scarf handmade by me...so warm and bright! Just the thing for the upcoming colder, dreary days! I made this one curly on the edges and love how it looks...I added a fleece tassel to the top in matching colors.

The fleece colors are soooo bright - purple, lime green and orange - and super soft! The hood is at least 20 inches deep and the scarf arms are about 30 inches long down each side (measuring from where the hood meets the scarf.

These scarves (I have two more listed...) are made up of so many bits and pieces of projects past. Hemps, cords, cottons, batiks, retro/vintage...it's ALL in there! =) This particular one is strong in rust/orange/yellow/red hues...the backing is a nice orange/rust fleece. I cut the ends in a fringe pattern for a little detail at the bottom. This one is shorter than my other scarves and does NOT have a pocket (so it's listed for less...but still just as purty! =)

Lotus apron top skirt with leaf detail hem and envelope stash pocket

A white, glowing lotus adorns the front of this charcoal gray cord apron skirt (or top in warmer temps). The cord has a little stretch to it so forms nicely around the hips or waist, too.

I added green leaves and lily pad details (done in grassy green corduroy) to the bottom center and corners of this skirt - the hemline is very organic but still symmetrical so "clean and green" =) The ties are made from lightweight gray denim (rescued from an old pair of my favorite pants!) There's an envelope style stash pocket on the inside, center of the apron - perfect for little things, necessities (license, bank card, cash...)

The bottom hem is left "raw" but only about a 1/4 inch. The top and sides are finished with a serged, roll hem so it won't fray there. This is just a great, go to skirt for any season!

I use only organic cotton batting/filler for these quilts. The rest of the material will also be organic - any combination of cotton, hemp, flannel for the front and backing. The only materials that might be "regular" cottons go into the applique work (we can discuss a completely organic quilt - I am all for that! Just have more color options for designing with ALL my cottons in the mix! =)

Size will be approximately 40x36in but can vary a bit according to your needs.

Hippie patchwork CUSTOM petti coat skirt layering

Your choice of one solid color or even two-toned...like the first petti shown here. I was intending on selling this one, however, while photographing, my darling boy with his sweet potato hand, came over to hug my leg...bittersweet ain't it! Too bad, as this one featured tiers of bamboo, organic cotton, quilter's cotton and a hemp ruffle...very ecofriendly. Soooo...this one will live as my own, with a little slightly orange handprint. You, however, can have one made to your exact measurements and other specs...sans handprint ;) There are other sample pettis shown (they have already been sold, but gives you an idea of the look of your underlayering options...)

I have designed the petticoat skirt to be more fitted for smooth layering, yet plenty roomy for ease of movement. It will flare out at the lower portion to give even greater mobility/flow without bulking up your "backside" =) The bottom ruffle is shown here with pleating, however you may choose to have a more plain ruffle or even straight binding...it's a custom, so all up to you!

More of my wide leg design, this time in gorgeous mauve, wine, dark and muted pinks and the faintest touch of rust! This is from my old India cotton stash...wonderful fabrics - vibrant, durable and very comfy to wear.

I added two large front pockets and kept the rest simple...the cut is so comfortable and flattering. The photos show me modeling them a long time ago before my belly popped! he he he...These were put away for sale at the fall festivals but alas, I am unable to attend them this year as this baby is due any minute now! So,going through that box and listing some of those goodies now.

I have some matching items in my shop for little mamas, too! This is the last I have of this fabric so snatch 'em up soon...

Ok, these are becoming a new favorite for me! =) I have done a few in my home, some for friends and family and now customers are making requests! I am so excited to now offer them up as custom items for you all!

The two samples shown were made for other sized chairs (so that's why they aren't flush with the chair pictured ;)We will work together to make a custom design in your size and color scheme. Patchwork? Solids? Prints? Ecofibers? Applique work? It's all possible...convo with ideas and we'll get started! The fabrics will be durable to last! I have also found a few fill options that are eco friendly! (recycled soda bottles and corn are my current in stock favorites! Bamboo fill is also available but more costly...) Coordinating fabric ties will secure your rocker cushions in place.

These are custom pieces and made to order so allow for about 2 weeks time from start to finish...then shipping to follow. (I can usually get them done faster but with a newborn in the house, it's hard to say what the new "normals" are going to be here ;)

These are truly unique and make wonderful gifts for someone's nursery...or just a special seat in your home, office or sanctuary! =)

I have a bunch o' fall stuff ready to head out for the last festival, but a few things I am just itchin' to share! I based it off the old style tops I was making last year but added a few twists...

The base/center is an oatmeal hemp twill. The texture is very "wheaty"...the best word I can think of, sort of sturdy but not scratchy and a great neutral color. I appliqued a little horned owl (or maybe screech owl???) in silhouette against a golden full moon. He's perched on a fall tree branch. There are still a few bright fall leaves on the branches that extend from both sides of the shirt around to the back...on the back is the word "FALL" in an orange leaf pattern. More branches grace the back of this top. The sleeves are cut on the bias and hang with a slight bell. They are made of an organic, dark chocolate cotton and also have some fall leaves appliqued to them. I left the hemp twill frayed along the bottom but wanted you to be able to see that, so added a strip of the dark brown so it really stands out...and looks pretty cool! The strip ties around the back so it can be worn loose or snugged up in that bubble style that seems to be happenin' (I like a loose fit, but that's for convenience of nursing I suppose - which this shirt is perfect for, by the way! ;)

There's also a brown ribbon tie detail at the top to balance out the brown bottom, so your little owl scene is all framed and ready to show off!

Measurements below, though I think this will best fit a small to medium mama:

Hip max = 54inches
Length from shoulder to bottom hem = 25inches
Arms from shoulder to wrist = 24inches

CUSTOM toddler baby cloth keepsake growth charts

These are so sweet! I modeled them after my handmade quilts...so the same attention to details and design will go into a keepsake that will last. Record the growth of a little sprout into a big sprout!

This particular one was custom made for my sister's lil one. The tall sunflower along the side acts as the "ruler" to measure out growth increments in 1/2 inch intervals. The intervals are hand stitched with embroidery floss. The bottom starts at 1 or 2 ft (depending on your preference) and will end up top at 4 to 5 ft (also, depending on the starting point). You'd therefor hang your chart 1 or 2 ft up off the floor...make sense? =) Obviously, if you start measuring your sprout before he or she is standing, I can start it shorter...it's all about what you want to record. Use the included fabric marker to record dates, heights and other info. you'd like to commemorate. These are absolutely perfect as shower gifts or first birthday presents!

The design process starts with you: what's the theme? colors? nature inspired? celestial thoughts? All cloth materials, comes complete with hanging loops and fabric marker to record the growth story as it unfolds!

Lil hippie mama fair trade India cotton pinafore and pant set with 3 D applique

This is just the sweetest little set! Made with the last of my India cotton in this print of soft mauve/pink base with hand stamped flowers and batik patterns. There are slight splashes of rust throughout - gives a subtle punch of color and allows the hand dyed work to stand out.

The top is a pinafore style that ties in the back at the neckline. It hangs in an A-line shape and so can fit for many years, especially as a layering piece. (The back is open from the neck down, so would need to go over something like a tee, onsie or tank) Layering will also give this top year round wearability! I added two sweet appliques to the front; one is a butterfly made from the darkest portions of the base print and the other is a "3-dimensional" flower, hand cut, quilted and attached at the center 3rd portion to give it stability AND dimension...looks so cute on! Sadly, my toddler will NOT model for me today...so on the floor it lays. (If he's in a better mood later, I'll try again! LOL!) The pants match perfectly and are cut in a wide leg style. Here's the best part: I have the pants in TWO sizes! When you make your purchase, lemme know which you need...or, get both! (I'll adjust your price and promise to be very KIND! =) Pants are drawstring closure. The smaller size fits in the 6-12 month range (see measurements below) and the larger 4-6T (also, see measurements to be sure!)

Celebrate the Mothers, be it our Earth or our ourselves... =) This has been reduced in order to clear inventory and secure a little extra cash before our baby arrives =)

I have been working on this baby for a long time now and am very happy with how it turned out! After having my first and now privileged to be a Mother...I am starting to "get it"...certainly not all of it, but making progress! =)

The quilt top base is a gorgeous piece of hand dyed hemp (again from Ms. Figgy over at fromthefigtree.etsy.com!) in a grape/plum/mauve/sherbet type of color - really soothing and very pretty! I hand drew and appliqued my interpretation of our "MOTHERS"...both in Earth and human form. A very pregnant mother is in perfect sync with the ever growing "Earth"...it can be such a symbiotic relationship! She is made from some gorgeous batiks. Her hair is a brown, flowing cut of more hemp. Her "Earth belly" is a piece of hand dyed hemp that I think makes just the perfect pattern for an Earth! =) She and all she embodies grows LOVE...and grows FROM Love...ahhhh... Over her head are the words "as Mothers Do" and they have been hand drawn and cut from the same batik as the Mother's dress.

I added a truly stunning, swirly, dyed batik border that has rainbow swirls of embroidery thread all over it...kinda reminds me of a really lively sunset in the West, just magical!

The backing is the very last of my most favorite flannel in an earthy cream with words of nurturing and growth...just perfect for this quilt! For the inside/batting I used an allergy safe, organic cotton! Before quilting it together, I put a touch of pure lavender on it so it will arrive ready to calm and sooth...

It's a perfect crib quilt or lap quilt for a new mom and baby.

This would make a truly special gift for any new mom and baby. It's very, very special...if we all loved as mothers do...the world would be a better place, seriously! =)

Hippie patchwork upcycled corduroy quilted lined bag with cell or ipod type pocket

The base is made from what was left of some dark, olive, green cord overalls. I incorporated the funny little "carpenter" pockets into the side of this bag to hold things like cell phones, ipods or other small gadgets that should be easily accessible. The front flap is covered in some gorgeous, earthy and jewel toned patchwork that's been quilted for some texture and interest. It's fully lined with a deep goldenrod cotton covered in a vine/flower pattern in a darker, coordinating tone (almost maroon). The strap is also made from more of the recycled cord.

It measures about 10inches wide by 12inches deep - plenty of room for a full day out and about or everyday use/outtings!
